3 Mooseksen 20
1 Ja Herra puhui Moosekselle sanoen:
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 "Sano israelilaisille: Jos joku, kuka tahansa israelilainen tai muukalainen, joka asuu Israelissa, antaa lapsiansa Molokille, hänet rangaistakoon kuolemalla; maan kansa kivittäköön hänet.
Thou shalt say also to the children of Israel, Whosoeuer he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, that giueth his children vnto Molech, he shall die the death, ye people of ye land shall stone him to death.
3 Ja minä käännän kasvoni sitä miestä vastaan ja hävitän hänet hänen kansastansa, koska hän on antanut Molokille lapsiansa saastuttaen minun pyhäkköni ja häväisten minun pyhän nimeni.
And I will set my face against that man and cut him off from among his people, because he hath giuen his children vnto Molech, for to defile my Sanctuarie, and to pollute mine holy Name.
4 Ja jos maan kansa säästää sitä miestä, joka antaa lapsiansa Molokille, niin etteivät he häntä surmaa,
And if the people of the lande hide their eyes, and winke at that man when he giueth his children vnto Molech, and kill him not,
5 niin minä itse käännän kasvoni sitä miestä vastaan ja hänen sukuansa vastaan; hänet ja kaikki, jotka häntä seuraten ovat lähteneet haureudessa kulkemaan Molokin jäljessä, minä hävitän heidän kansastansa.
Then will I set my face against that man, and against his familie, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him to comit whoredome with Molech, from among their people.
6 Ja jos joku kääntyy vainaja-tai tietäjähenkien puoleen, lähtien haureudessa kulkemaan heidän jäljessänsä, sitä ihmistä vastaan minä käännän kasvoni ja hävitän hänet hänen kansastansa.
If any turne after such as worke with spirits, and after soothsayers, to go a whoring after them, then will I set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people.
7 Pyhittäkää siis itsenne ja olkaa pyhät; sillä minä olen Herra, teidän Jumalanne.
Sanctifie your selues therefore, and be holie, for I am the Lord your God.
8 Ja noudattakaa minun käskyjäni ja pitäkää ne. Minä olen Herra, joka pyhitän teidät.
Keepe ye therefore mine ordinances, and doe them. I am the Lord which doeth sanctifie you.
9 Kuka ikinä kiroaa isäänsä tai äitiänsä, hänet rangaistakoon kuolemalla; isäänsä ja äitiänsä hän on kironnut, hän on verivelan alainen.
If there be any that curseth his father or his mother, he shall die the death: seeing hee hath cursed his father and his mother, his blood shalbe vpon him.
10 Jos joku tekee aviorikoksen toisen miehen vaimon kanssa, jos hän tekee aviorikoksen lähimmäisensä vaimon kanssa, niin heidät, sekä avionrikkoja mies että-nainen, rangaistakoon kuolemalla.
And the man that committeth adulterie with another mans wife, because he hath comitted adulterie with his neighbours wife, the adulterer and the adulteresse shall die the death.
11 Jos joku makaa äitipuolensa kanssa, paljastaa hän isänsä hävyn; heidät molemmat rangaistakoon kuolemalla, he ovat verivelan alaiset.
And the man that lyeth with his fathers wife, because hee hath vncouered his fathers shame, they shall both dye: their blood shalbe vpon them.
12 Jos joku makaa miniänsä kanssa, rangaistakoon heidät molemmat kuolemalla; he ovat tehneet iljettävyyden, he ovat verivelan alaiset.
Also the man that lyeth with his daughter in lawe, they both shall dye the death, they haue wrought abomination, their blood shalbe vpon them.
13 Jos joku makaa miehenpuolen kanssa, niinkuin naisen kanssa maataan, tekevät he molemmat kauhistuksen; heidät rangaistakoon kuolemalla, he ovat verivelan alaiset.
The man also that lyeth with the male, as one lyeth with a woman, they haue both committed abomination: they shall dye the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
14 Jos joku ottaa vaimoksi naisen ja hänen äitinsä, on se iljettävyys; sekä hänet että ne molemmat poltettakoon tulessa, ettei mitään iljettävyyttä olisi teidän seassanne.
Likewise he that taketh a wife and her mother, committeth wickednesse: they shall burne him and them with fire, that there be no wickednes among you.
15 Jos joku sekaantuu eläimeen, rangaistakoon hänet kuolemalla, ja se eläin tappakaa.
Also the man that lyeth with a beast, shall dye the death, and ye shall slay the beast.
16 Ja jos nainen ryhtyy eläimeen, mihin tahansa, pariutuaksensa sen kanssa, niin surmaa sekä nainen että eläin; heidät rangaistakoon kuolemalla, he ovat verivelan alaiset.
And if a woman come to any beast, and lye therewith, then thou shalt kill the woman and the beast: they shall die the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
17 Jos joku ottaa vaimoksi sisarensa, isänsä tyttären tai äitinsä tyttären, ja näkee hänen häpynsä ja tämä näkee hänen häpynsä, niin se on häpeä, ja heidät hävitettäköön kansalaistensa silmien edessä; hän on paljastanut sisarensa hävyn, hän on joutunut syynalaiseksi.
Also the man that taketh his sister, his fathers daughter, or his mothers daughter, and seeth her shame and she seeth his shame, it is villenie: therefore they shall be cut off in the sight of their people, because he hath vncouered his sisters shame, he shall beare his iniquitie.
18 Jos joku makaa kuukautistilassa olevan naisen kanssa ja paljastaa hänen häpynsä, avaa hänen lähteensä, ja nainen paljastaa verensä lähteen, niin heidät molemmat hävitettäköön kansastansa.
The man also that lyeth with a woman hauing her disease, and vncouereth her shame, and openeth her fountaine, and she open the foutaine of her blood, they shall bee euen both cut off from among their people.
19 Älä paljasta äitisi sisaren tai isäsi sisaren häpyä; sillä se, joka niin tekee, on paljastanut veriheimolaisensa; he joutuvat syynalaisiksi.
Moreouer thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy mothers sister, nor of thy fathers sister: because he hath vncouered his kin, they shall beare their iniquitie.
20 Jos joku makaa setänsä vaimon kanssa, on hän paljastanut setänsä hävyn; he joutuvat syynalaisiksi, lapsettomina he kuolkoot.
Likewise the man that lyeth with his fathers brothers wife, and vncouereth his vncles shame: they shall beare their iniquitie, and shall die childlesse.
21 Jos joku ottaa vaimoksi veljensä vaimon, on se saastaisuus; hän on paljastanut veljensä hävyn, lapsettomiksi he jääkööt.
So the man that taketh his brothers wife, committeth filthines, because he hath vncouered his brothers shame: they shalbe childles.
22 Noudattakaa siis kaikkia minun käskyjäni ja kaikkia minun säädöksiäni ja pitäkää ne, ettei teitä oksentaisi ulos se maa, johon minä vien teidät asumaan.
Ye shall keepe therefore all mine ordinances and all my iudgements, and doe them, that the land, whither I bring you to dwel therein, spue you not out.
23 Ja älkää vaeltako sen kansan tapojen mukaan, jonka minä karkoitan teidän tieltänne; sillä kaikkia näitä he ovat tehneet ja nostaneet minun inhoni.
Wherefore ye shall not walke in the maners of this nation which I cast out before you: for they haue committed all these things, therefore I abhorred them.
24 Mutta minä sanon teille: Te saatte ottaa omaksenne heidän maansa, sillä minä annan sen teille omaksi, maan, joka vuotaa maitoa ja mettä. Minä olen Herra, teidän Jumalanne, joka olen teidät erottanut muista kansoista.
But I haue saide vnto you, ye shall inherite their land, and I will giue it vnto you to possesse it, euen a land that floweth with milke and honie: I am the Lord your God, which haue separated you from other people.
25 Erottakaa myös puhtaat eläimet saastaisista ja saastaiset linnut puhtaista, ettette saattaisi itseänne inhottaviksi koskemalla nelijalkaisiin eläimiin, lintuihin tai maan matelijoihin, mihin tahansa, jotka minä olen erottanut, että te pitäisitte ne saastaisina.
Therefore shall ye put difference betweene cleane beastes and vncleane, and betweene vncleane foules and cleane: neither shall ye defile your selues with beastes and foules, nor with any creeping thing, that ye ground bringeth forth, which I haue separated from you as vncleane.
26 Olkaa siis minulle pyhät, sillä minä, Herra, olen pyhä, ja minä olen teidät erottanut muista kansoista olemaan minun omani.
Therefore shall ye be holie vnto me: for I the Lord am holy, and I haue separated you from other people, that ye shoulde be mine.
27 Jos jossakin miehessä tai naisessa on vainaja-tai tietäjähenki, niin heidät rangaistakoon kuolemalla; heidät kivitettäköön, he ovat verivelan alaiset."
And if a man or woman haue a spirite of diuination, or soothsaying in them, they shall die the death: they shall stone them to death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
