Johanneksen 2
1 Ja kolmantena päivänä oli häät Galilean Kaanassa, ja Jeesuksen äiti oli siellä.
Three days after, there was a marriage in Cana, of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Ja myös Jeesus ja hänen opetuslapsensa olivat kutsutut häihin.
Jesus, also, and his disciples, were invited to the marriage.
3 Ja kun viini loppui, sanoi Jeesuksen äiti hänelle: "Heillä ei ole viiniä".
The wine falling short, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine.
4 Jeesus sanoi hänelle: "Mitä sinä tahdot minusta, vaimo? Minun aikani ei ole vielä tullut."
Jesus answered, Woman, what have you to do with me? My time is not yet come.
5 Hänen äitinsä sanoi palvelijoille: "Mitä hän teille sanoo, se tehkää".
His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he shall bid you.
6 Niin oli siinä juutalaisten puhdistamistavan mukaan kuusi kivistä vesiastiaa, kukin kahden tai kolmen mitan vetoinen.
Now there were six water pots of stone, containing two or three baths each, placed there for the Jewish rites of cleansing.
7 Jeesus sanoi heille: "Täyttäkää astiat vedellä". Ja he täyttivät ne reunoja myöten.
Jesus said to them, Fill the pots with water. And they filled them to the brim.
8 Ja hän sanoi heille: "Ammentakaa nyt ja viekää edeskäyvälle". Ja he veivät.
Then he said, Draw, now, and carry to the director of the feast. And they did so.
9 Mutta kun edeskäypä maistoi vettä, joka oli muuttunut viiniksi, eikä tiennyt, mistä se oli tullut-mutta palvelijat, jotka veden olivat ammentaneet, tiesivät sen-kutsui edeskäypä yljän
When the director of the feast had tasted the wine made of water, not knowing whence it was, (but the servants who drew the water knew, )
10 ja sanoi hänelle: "Jokainen panee ensin esille hyvän viinin ja sitten, kun juopuvat, huonomman. Sinä olet säästänyt hyvän viinin tähän asti."
he said, addressing the bridegroom, Every person presents the best wine first, and worse wine afterward, when the guests have drunk largely; but you have reserved the best till now.
11 Tämän ensimmäisen tunnustekonsa Jeesus teki Galilean Kaanassa ja ilmoitti kirkkautensa; ja hänen opetuslapsensa uskoivat häneen.
This first miracle Jesus wrought in Cana of Galilee, displaying his glory: and his disciples believed on him.
12 Sen jälkeen hän meni alas Kapernaumiin, hän ja hänen äitinsä ja veljensä ja opetuslapsensa; ja siellä he eivät viipyneet monta päivää.
Afterward, he went to Capernaum, he and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples; but they staid not there many days.
13 Ja juutalaisten pääsiäinen oli lähellä, ja Jeesus meni ylös Jerusalemiin.
And the Jewish passover being nigh, Jesus went to Jerusalem;
14 Niin hän tapasi pyhäkössä ne, jotka myivät härkiä ja lampaita ja kyyhkysiä, ja rahanvaihtajat istumassa.
and finding changers sitting in the temple, and people who sold cattle and sheep, and doves;
15 Ja hän teki nuorista ruoskan ja ajoi ulos pyhäköstä heidät kaikki lampaineen ja härkineen ja kaasi vaihtajain rahat maahan ja työnsi heidän pöytänsä kumoon.
he made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and cattle, scattering the coin of the changers, and oversetting their tables.
16 Ja hän sanoi kyyhkysten myyjille: "Viekää pois nämä täältä. Älkää tehkö minun Isäni huonetta markkinahuoneeksi."
and he said to them, who sold doves, Take these things hence. Make not my Father's house a house of traffic.
17 Silloin hänen opetuslapsensa muistivat, että on kirjoitettu: "Kiivaus sinun huoneesi puolesta kuluttaa minut".
(Then his disciples remembered these words of the scripture, "My zeal for thy house consumes me.")
18 Niin juutalaiset vastasivat ja sanoivat hänelle: "Minkä merkin sinä näytät meille, koska näitä teet?"
Therefore, the Jews answered, and said to him, By what miracle do you show us your title to do these things?
19 Jeesus vastasi ja sanoi heille: "Hajottakaa maahan tämä temppeli, niin minä pystytän sen kolmessa päivässä".
Jesus answering, said to them, Destroy this temple, and I will rear it again in three days.
20 Niin juutalaiset sanoivat: "Neljäkymmentä kuusi vuotta on tätä temppeliä rakennettu, ja sinäkö pystytät sen kolmessa päivässä?"
The Jews replied, Forty and six years was this temple in building; and you would rear it in three days?
21 Mutta hän puhui ruumiinsa temppelistä.
(But, by the temple, he meant his body.)
22 Kun hän sitten oli noussut kuolleista, muistivat hänen opetuslapsensa, että hän oli tämän sanonut; ja he uskoivat Raamatun ja sen sanan, jonka Jeesus oli sanonut.
When, therefore, he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they understood the scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.
23 Mutta kun hän oli Jerusalemissa pääsiäisenä, juhlan aikana, uskoivat monet hänen nimeensä, nähdessään hänen tunnustekonsa, jotka hän teki.
While he was at Jerusalem, during the feast of the passover, many believed on him, when they saw the miracles which he performed.
24 Mutta Jeesus itse ei uskonut itseänsä heille, sentähden että hän tunsi kaikki
But Jesus did not trust himself with them, because he knew them all.
25 eikä tarvinnut kenenkään todistusta ihmisestä, sillä hän tiesi itse, mitä ihmisessä on.
He needed not to receive from others a character of any man, for he knew what was in man.
