Jeremian 7
1 Tämä on sana, joka tuli Jeremialle Herralta:
The woordes that came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 "Asetu Herran huoneen portille ja julista siellä tämä sana ja sano: Kuulkaa Herran sana, koko Juuda, te jotka tulette näistä porteista kumartaen rukoilemaan Herraa.
Stand in the gate of the Lordes house and crie this woorde there, and say, Heare the woorde of the Lord, all yee of Iudah that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.
3 Näin sanoo Herra Sebaot, Israelin Jumala: Vaeltakaa hyvin ja tehkää hyviä tekoja, niin minä annan teidän asua tässä paikassa.
Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Amend your waies and your woorkes, and I will let you dwell in this place.
4 Älkää luottako valheen sanoihin, kun sanotaan: 'Tämä on Herran temppeli, Herran temppeli, Herran temppeli!'
Trust not in lying woordes, saying, The Temple of the Lord, the Temple of the Lord: this is the Temple of the Lord.
5 Vaan jos te todella parannatte vaelluksenne ja tekonne, jos te todella teette oikeuden niin toiselle kuin toisellekin,
For if you amende and redresse your waies and your woorkes: if you execute iudgement betweene a man and his neighbour,
6 ette sorra muukalaista, orpoa ja leskeä, ette vuodata viatonta verta tässä paikassa ettekä seuraa muita jumalia turmioksenne,
And oppresse not the stranger, the fatherlesse and the widow and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walke after other gods to your destruction,
7 niin minä annan teidän asua tässä paikassa, maassa, jonka minä olen antanut teidän isillenne, iankaikkisesta iankaikkiseen.
Then will I let you dwell in this place in the lande that I gaue vnto your fathers, for euer and euer.
8 Mutta katso, te luotatte valheen sanoihin, joista ei ole hyötyä.
Beholde, you trust in lying woordes, that can not profite.
9 Miten on? Te varastatte, tapatte, rikotte avion, vannotte väärin, poltatte uhreja Baalille ja seuraatte vieraita jumalia, joita te ette tunne.
Will you steale, murder, and commit adulterie, and sweare falsely and burne incense vnto Baal, and walke after other gods whome yee knowe not?
10 Ja te tulette ja astutte minun eteeni tähän huoneeseen, joka on otettu minun nimiini, ja sanotte: 'Me kyllä pelastumme' -tehdäksenne yhä kaikkia näitä kauhistuksia!
And come and stande before mee in this House, whereupon my Name is called, and saye, We are deliuered, though we haue done all these abominations?
11 Ryövärien luolaksiko te katsotte tämän huoneen, joka on otettu minun nimiini? Katso, sellaiseksi minäkin olen sen havainnut, sanoo Herra.
Is this House become a denne of theeues, whereupon my Name is called before your eyes? Beholde, euen I see it, sayeth the Lord.
12 Menkääpä minun asuinpaikkaani, joka oli Siilossa, jossa minä ensin annoin nimeni asua, ja katsokaa, mitä minä olen sille tehnyt kansani Israelin pahuuden tähden!
But go ye nowe vnto my place which was in Shilo, where I set my Name at the beginning, and beholde, what I did to it for the wickednesse of my people Israel.
13 Ja koska te nyt olette kaikkia näitä tekoja tehneet, sanoo Herra, ettekä ole kuulleet, vaikka minä varhaisesta alkaen olen teille puhunut, koska ette vastanneet, vaikka minä teille huusin,
Therefore nowe because yee haue done all these woorkes, sayeth the Lord, (and I rose vp earely and spake vnto you: but when I spake, yee would not heare me, neither when I called, would yee answere).
14 niin minä teen tälle huoneelle, joka on otettu minun nimiini, johon te luotatte, ja tälle paikalle, jonka minä olen antanut teille ja teidän isillenne, samoin kuin olen tehnyt Siilolle,
Therefore will I do vnto this House, wherupon my Name is called, wherein also yee trust, euen vnto the place that I gaue to you and to your fathers, as I haue done vnto Shilo.
15 ja heitän teidät pois kasvojeni edestä, niinkuin olen heittänyt pois kaikki teidän veljenne, kaikki Efraimin jälkeläiset.
And I will cast you out of my sight, as I haue cast out all your brethren, euen the whole seede of Ephraim.
16 Mutta sinä älä rukoile tämän kansan puolesta, älä kohota heidän puolestaan huutoa ja rukousta äläkä niillä minua ahdista; sillä en minä sinua kuule.
Therfore thou shalt not pray for this people, neither lift vp crie or praier for them neither intreat me, for I will not heare thee.
17 Etkö näe, mitä he tekevät Juudan kaupungeissa ja Jerusalemin kaduilla?
Seest thou not what they doe in the cities of Iudah and in the streetes of Ierusalem?
18 Lapset kokoavat puita, isät sytyttävät tulen, ja vaimot sotkevat taikinaa valmistaaksensa uhrikakkuja taivaan kuningattarelle, ja he vuodattavat juomauhreja muille jumalille, minulle mielikarvaudeksi.
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knede the dough to make cakes to the Queene of heauen and to powre out drinke offrings vnto other gods, that they may prouoke me vnto anger.
19 Minulleko he tuottavat mielikarvautta, sanoo Herra, eivätkö pikemmin itselleen, omaksi häpeäksensä?
Doe they prouoke me to anger, sayeth the Lord, and not themselues to the confusion of their owne faces?
20 Sentähden, näin sanoo Herra, Herra: Katso, minun vihani ja kiivauteni on vuotava tämän paikan ylitse, ihmisten, eläinten, kedon puitten ja maan hedelmän ylitse, ja se palaa sammumatta."
Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, mine anger and my wrath shall be powred vpon this place, vpon man and vpon beast, and vpon the tree of the fielde, and vpon the fruite of the grounde, and it shall burne and not bee quenched.
21 Näin sanoo Herra Sebaot, Israelin Jumala: "Lisätkää polttouhrinne teurasuhreihinne ja syökää lihaa.
Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Put your burnt offerings vnto your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.
22 Sillä en minä puhunut enkä antanut käskyä teidän isillenne poltto-ja teurasuhrista silloin, kun minä vein heidät pois Egyptin maasta,
For I spake not vnto your fathers, nor commanded them, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offrings and sacrifices.
23 vaan näin minä käskin heitä ja sanoin: Kuulkaa minun ääntäni, niin minä olen teidän Jumalanne ja te olette minun kansani; ja vaeltakaa aina sitä tietä, jota minä käsken teidän vaeltaa, että menestyisitte.
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voyce, and I will be your God, and yee shalbe my people: and walke yee in all the wayes which I haue commanded you, that it may be well vnto you.
24 Mutta he eivät kuulleet, eivät korvaansa kallistaneet, vaan vaelsivat oman neuvonsa mukaan, pahan sydämensä paatumuksessa, ja käänsivät minulle selkänsä eivätkä kasvojansa.
But they would not obey, nor incline their eare, but went after the counsels and the stubbernesse of their wicked heart, and went backewarde and not forwarde.
25 Siitä päivästä, jona teidän isänne lähtivät Egyptin maasta, aina tähän päivään asti olen minä lähettänyt teidän tykönne kaikki palvelijani, profeetat-lähettänyt varhaisesta alkaen, päivä päivältä.
Since the day that your fathers came vp out of the lande of Egypt, vnto this day, I haue euen sent vnto you al my seruants the Prophets, rising vp earely euery day, and sending them.
26 Mutta kukaan ei kuullut minua, ei kallistanut korvaansa, vaan he olivat niskureita, tekivät enemmän pahaa kuin heidän isänsä.
Yet would they not heare me nor encline their eare, but hardened their necke and did worse then their fathers.
27 Ja kun sinä puhut heille kaiken tämän, niin he eivät kuule sinua, ja kun sinä heille huudat, niin he eivät sinulle vastaa.
Therefore shalt thou speake al these words vnto them, but they will not heare thee: thou shalt also crie vnto them, but they will not answere thee.
28 Sentähden sano heille: Tämä on kansa, joka ei kuullut Herran, Jumalansa, ääntä eikä ottanut kuritusta varteen. Kadonnut on totuus ja hävinnyt heidän suustansa.
But thou shalt say vnto them, This is a nation that heareth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiueth discipline: trueth is perished, and is cleane gone out of their mouth.
29 Leikkaa hiuksesi ja heitä ne pois ja viritä kalliokukkuloilla itkuvirsi, sillä Herra on hyljännyt ja sysännyt pois vihansa alaisen sukupolven.
Cut off thine heare, O Ierusalem, and cast it away, and take vp a complaint on the hie places: for the Lord hath reiected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30 Sillä Juudan miehet ovat tehneet sen, mikä on pahaa minun silmissäni, sanoo Herra. He ovat asettaneet iljetyksensä temppeliin, joka on otettu minun nimiini, ja saastuttaneet sen.
For the children of Iudah haue done euill in my sight, sayth the Lord: they haue set their abominations in the House, whereupon my Name is called, to pollute it.
31 Ja he ovat rakentaneet Toofet-uhrikukkulat Ben-Hinnomin laaksoon, polttaakseen tulessa poikiansa ja tyttäriänsä, mitä minä en ole käskenyt ja mikä ei ole minun mieleeni tullut.
And they haue built the hie place of Topheth, which is in the valley of Ben-Hinnom to burne their sonnes and their daughters in the fire, which I commanded them not, neither came it in mine heart.
32 Sentähden, katso, päivät tulevat, sanoo Herra, jolloin ei enää sanota 'Toofet' ja 'Ben-Hinnomin laakso', vaan 'Murha-laakso', ja Toofetiin haudataan, kun ei ole muualla tilaa.
Therefore beholde, the dayes come, sayeth the Lord, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor the valley of Ben-Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall burie in Topheth til there be no place.
33 Ja tämän kansan ruumiit joutuvat taivaan lintujen ja maan eläinten ruuaksi, eikä näitä kukaan karkoita.
And ye carkeises of this people shalbe meat for the foules of the heauen and for the beastes of the earth, and none shall fraie them away.
34 Ja minä lopetan Juudan kaupungeista ja Jerusalemin kaduilta riemun ja ilon huudon, huudon yljälle ja huudon morsiamelle, sillä maa on tuleva raunioiksi."
Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Iudah and from the streetes of Ierusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladnesse, the voice of the bridegrom and the voice of the bride: for the lande shalbe desolate.
