Jeremian 13
1 Näin sanoi Herra minulle: "Mene ja osta itsellesi liinainen vyö ja pane se kupeillesi, mutta älä anna sen tulla veteen".
Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.
2 Ja minä ostin vyön Herran sanan mukaan ja panin sen kupeilleni.
So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.
3 Sitten Herran sana tuli minulle toisen kerran, tämä sana:
And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,
4 "Ota vyö, jonka sinä ostit ja joka on kupeillasi, ja nouse, mene Eufratille ja kätke se siellä kallion koloon".
Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.
5 Ja minä menin ja kätkin sen Eufratiin, niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt minun tehdä.
So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.
6 Ja pitkän ajan kuluttua Herra sanoi minulle: "Nouse, mene Eufratille ja ota se vyö, jonka minä käskin sinun kätkeä sinne".
And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Niin minä menin Eufratille, kaivoin ja otin vyön siitä paikasta, johon olin sen kätkenyt; ja katso, vyö oli turmeltunut eikä kelvannut mihinkään.
Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.
8 Minulle tuli tämä Herran sana:
Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
9 "Näin sanoo Herra: Samalla tavoin minä tuotan turmion Juudan ja Jerusalemin suurelle ylpeydelle.
Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.
10 Tämä paha kansa, joka ei tahdo kuulla minun sanojani, joka vaeltaa sydämensä paatumuksessa, seuraa muita jumalia, palvelee ja kumartaa niitä, tulee tämän vyön kaltaiseksi, joka ei mihinkään kelpaa.
This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.
11 Sillä niinkuin vyö liittyy miehen kupeisiin, niin minä liitin koko Israelin heimon ja koko Juudan heimon itseeni, sanoo Herra, että se olisi minun kansani, minulle kunniaksi, ylistykseksi ja kirkkaudeksi; mutta he eivät totelleet.
For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.
12 Sentähden sano heille tämä sana: Näin sanoo Herra, Israelin Jumala: Jokainen leili täytetään viinillä. Ja jos he sanovat sinulle: 'Emmekö me tietäisi, että jokainen leili täytetään viinillä?'
Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?
13 niin sano heille: Näin sanoo Herra: Katso, minä täytän kaikki tämän maan asukkaat, kuninkaat, jotka istuvat Daavidin valtaistuimella, papit ja profeetat ja kaikki Jerusalemin asukkaat päihtymyksellä.
Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.
14 Ja minä murskaan heidät, toisen toistansa vastaan, sekä isät että lapset, sanoo Herra. Minä en sääli, en säästä enkä armahda, niin että jättäisin heidät hävittämättä."
And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.
15 Kuulkaa, ottakaa korviinne, älkää ylpeilkö, sillä Herra on puhunut.
Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.
16 Antakaa Herralle, teidän Jumalallenne, kunnia, ennenkuin tulee pimeä ja jalkanne loukkaantuvat vuoriin hämärissä. Silloin te odotatte valoa, mutta hän muuttaa sen pilkkopimeäksi, tekee sen synkeydeksi.
Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.
17 Mutta ellette kuule tätä, niin minun sieluni salassa itkee sellaista ylpeyttä, itkee katkerasti, ja minun silmäni vuotavat kyyneleitä, kun Herran lauma viedään vankeuteen.
But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.
18 "Sano kuninkaalle ja kuninkaan äidille: Istukaa alhaiselle sijalle, sillä pudonnut on päästänne teidän kunniankruununne.
Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.
19 Etelämaan kaupungit ovat suljetut, eikä ole avaajaa; koko Juuda on viety pakkosiirtolaisuuteen, pakkosiirtolaisuuteen kaikki kansa.
The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.
20 Nostakaa silmänne ja katsokaa, kuinka ne tulevat pohjoisesta. Missä on lauma, joka oli sinun haltuusi annettu, nuo sinun lampaasi, sinun kunniasi?
Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?
21 Mitä sanot, kun hän panee sinulle päämiehiksi ne, jotka olit ystäviksesi totutellut? Eivätkö tuskat kourista sinua niinkuin synnyttävää vaimoa?
What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?
22 Ja jos sanot sydämessäsi: 'Minkätähden on minulle näin käynyt?' -suuren syntisi tähden sinun liepeesi kohotettiin, tehtiin väkivaltaa sinun kantapäillesi.
And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.
23 Voiko etiopialainen muuttaa ihonsa ja pantteri pilkkunsa? Yhtä vähän te voitte tehdä hyvää, te pahantekoon tottuneet.
Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.
24 Ja minä hajotan heidät kuin oljenkorret, jotka lentävät erämaan tuulessa.
Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.
25 Tämä on sinun arpasi, sinun mitattu osasi minulta, sanoo Herra, koska olet unhottanut minut ja luottanut valheeseen.
This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.
26 Niinpä minäkin nostan sinulta liepeet kasvojen yli, ja sinun häpeäsi näkyy.
Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.
27 Sinun aviorikoksesi, hirnumisesi, riettaan haureutesi, sinun iljetyksesi kedon kukkuloilla minä olen nähnyt. Voi sinua, Jerusalem! Et sinä puhdistu, et vielä pitkään aikaan."
I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
