Jesajan 62
1 Siionin tähden minä en voi vaieta, ja Jerusalemin tähden en lepoa saa, ennenkuin sen vanhurskaus nousee kuin aamunkoi ja sen autuus kuin palava tulisoihtu.
For Zion's sake I will not keep silence, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her deliverance break forth like the shining light, And her salvation like a blazing torch.
2 Ja kansat näkevät sinun vanhurskautesi, kaikki kuninkaat sinun kunniasi; ja sinulle annetaan uusi nimi, jonka Herran suu säätää.
Then shall the nations see thy prosperity, And all the kings thy glory; Thou shalt be called by a new name, Which the mouth of Jehovah shall give thee.
3 Sinä tulet kauniiksi kruunuksi Herran kädessä ja kuninkaalliseksi päähineeksi Jumalasi kädessä.
Thou shalt be a beautiful crown in the hand of Jehovah, A royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4 Ei sinua enää sanota "hyljätyksi", eikä sinun maatasi enää sanota "autioksi"; vaan sinua kutsutaan "minun rakkaakseni" ja sinun maatasi "aviovaimoksi", sillä Herra rakastaa sinua, ja sinun maasi otetaan avioksi.
No more shalt thou be called the Desolate, And thy land, the Forsaken. But thou shall be named My-delight-is-in-her. And thy land the wedded Matron. For Jehovah shall delight in thee, And thy land shall be married.
5 Sillä niinkuin nuori mies ottaa neitsyen avioksi, niin sinun lapsesi ottavat sinut omaksensa; ja niinkuin ylkä iloitsee morsiamesta, niin sinun Jumalasi iloitsee sinusta.
For as a young man weddeth a virgin. So shall thy children wed thee. And as a bridegroom rejoiceth in his bride, So shall thy God rejoice in thee.
6 Sinun muureillesi, Jerusalem, minä asetan vartijat; älkööt he milloinkaan vaietko, ei päivällä eikä yöllä. Te, jotka ylistätte Herraa, älkää itsellenne lepoa suoko.
Upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I set watchmen; All the day, and all the night, shall they not keep silence; O ye that praise Jehovah, keep not silence,
7 Älkää antako hänelle lepoa, ennenkuin hän on asettanut ennallensa Jerusalemin, tehnyt sen ylistykseksi maassa.
And give him no rest, Until he establish Jerusalem, and make her a praise in the earth!
8 Herra on vannonut oikean kätensä ja väkevyytensä käsivarren kautta: En totisesti minä enää anna jyviäsi sinun vihollistesi ruuaksi, eivätkä juo enää muukalaiset sinun viiniäsi, josta sinä olet vaivan nähnyt.
Jehovah hath sworn by his right hand, and his mighty arm: No more will I give thy corn to be food for thine enemies, Nor shall the sons of the stranger drink thy wine, for which thou hast labored.
9 Vaan jotka viljan kokoavat, ne sen syövät ja ylistävät Herraa; ja jotka viinin korjaavat, ne sen juovat minun pyhissä esikartanoissani.
But they that reap the harvest shall eat it, And praise Jehovah; And they that gather the vintage shall drink it, In my holy comets.
10 Käykää, käykää ulos porteista, tasoittakaa kansalle tie, tehkää, tehkää valtatie, raivatkaa kivet pois, kohottakaa lippu kansoille.
Pass ye, pass ye through the gates; Prepare the way for the people; Cast ye up, cast ye up the highway, Clear it from the stones; Lift up on high a standard for the tribes!
11 Katso, Herra on kuuluttanut maan ääriin asti: Sanokaa tytär Siionille: Katso, sinun pelastuksesi tulee. Katso, hänen palkkansa on hänen mukanansa, hänen työnsä ansio käy hänen edellänsä.
Behold, Jehovah proclaimeth to the end of the earth: “Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy Deliverer cometh! Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him!”
12 Ja heitä kutsutaan "pyhäksi kansaksi", "Herran lunastetuiksi"; ja sinua kutsutaan "halutuksi", "kaupungiksi, joka ei ole hyljätty".
They shall be called, The holy people, The redeemed of Jehovah. And thou shalt be called, The Sought out, The Not forsaken City.
