Jesajan 43
1 Mutta nyt, näin sanoo Herra, joka loi sinut, Jaakob, joka valmisti sinut, Israel: Älä pelkää, sillä minä olen lunastanut sinut, minä olen sinut nimeltä kutsunut; sinä olet minun.
And now, thus said YHWH, Your Creator, O Jacob, and your Fashioner, O Israel: Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you, I have called on your name—you [are] Mine.
2 Jos vetten läpi kuljet, olen minä sinun kanssasi, jos virtojen läpi, eivät ne sinua upota; jos tulen läpi käyt, et sinä kärvenny, eikä liekki sinua polta.
When you pass into waters, I [am] with you, And into floods, they do not overflow you, When you go into fire, you are not burned, And a flame does not burn against you.
3 Sillä minä olen Herra, sinun Jumalasi, Israelin Pyhä, sinun vapahtajasi: minä annan sinun lunnaiksesi Egyptin, sinun sijastasi Etiopian ja Seban.
For I—your God YHWH, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior, I have appointed Egypt your atonement, Cush and Seba in your stead.
4 Koska sinä olet minun silmissäni kallis ja suuriarvoinen ja koska minä sinua rakastan, annan minä ihmisiä sinun sijastasi ja kansakuntia sinun hengestäsi.
Since you were precious in My eyes, You were honored, and I have loved you, And I appoint men in your stead, And peoples instead of your life.
5 Älä pelkää, sillä minä olen sinun kanssasi; minä tuon sinun siemenesi päivänkoiton ääriltä, päivän laskemilta minä sinut kokoan.
Do not be afraid, for I [am] with you, I bring in your seed from the east, And I gather you from the west.
6 Minä sanon pohjoiselle: Anna tänne! ja etelälle: Älä pidätä! Tuo minun poikani kaukaa ja minun tyttäreni hamasta maan äärestä-
I am saying to the north, “Give up,” And to the south, “Do not restrain.” Bring in My sons from afar, And My daughters from the end of the earth.
7 kaikki, jotka ovat otetut minun nimiini ja jotka minä olen kunniakseni luonut, jotka minä olen valmistanut ja tehnyt.
Everyone who is called by My Name, Even for My glory I have created him, I have formed him, indeed, I have made him.
8 Tuo esiin sokea kansa, jolla kuitenkin on silmät, ja kuurot, joilla kuitenkin on korvat.
He brought out a blind people who have eyes, And deaf ones who have ears.
9 Kaikki kansat ovat kokoontuneet yhteen ja kansakunnat tulleet kokoon. Kuka heistä voi ilmoittaa tämänkaltaista? Tai antakoot meidän kuulla entisiä; asettakoot todistajansa ja näyttäkööt, että ovat oikeassa: sittenpä kuullaan ja sanotaan: "Se on totta".
All the nations have been gathered together, And the peoples are assembled, Who among them declares this, And causes us to hear former things? They give their witnesses, And they are declared righteous, And they hear and say, “Truth.”
10 Te olette minun todistajani, sanoo Herra, minun palvelijani, jonka minä olen valinnut, jotta te tuntisitte minut ja uskoisitte minuun ja ymmärtäisitte, että minä se olen. Ennen minua ei ole luotu yhtäkään jumalaa, eikä minun jälkeeni toista tule.
You [are] My witnesses, a declaration of YHWH, And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you know and give credence to Me, And understand that I [am] He, Before Me there was no God formed, And after Me there is none.
11 Minä, minä olen Herra, eikä ole muuta pelastajaa, kuin minä.
I [am] YHWH, And besides Me there is no savior.
12 Minä olen ilmoittanut, olen pelastanut ja julistanut, eikä ollut vierasta jumalaa teidän keskuudessanne. Te olette minun todistajani, sanoo Herra, ja minä olen Jumala.
I declared, and saved, and proclaimed, And there is no stranger with you, And you [are] My witnesses, a declaration of YHWH, And I [am] God.
13 Tästedeskin minä olen sama. Ei kukaan voi vapauttaa minun kädestäni; minkä minä teen, kuka sen peruuttaa?
Even from the day I [am] He, And there is no deliverer from My hand, I work, and who turns it back?
14 Näin sanoo Herra, teidän lunastajanne, Israelin Pyhä: Teidän tähtenne minä lähetän sanan Baabeliin, minä syöksen heidät kaikki pakoon, syöksen kaldealaiset laivoihin, jotka olivat heidän ilonsa.
Thus said YHWH, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I have sent to Babylon for your sake, And caused bars to descend—all of them, And the Chaldeans, whose song [is] in the ships.
15 Minä, Herra, olen teidän Pyhänne, minä, Israelin Luoja, olen teidän kuninkaanne.
I [am] YHWH, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King.”
16 Näin sanoo Herra, joka teki tien mereen ja polun valtaviin vesiin,
Thus said YHWH, Who is giving a way in the sea, And a path in the strong waters.
17 joka vei sotaan vaunut ja hevoset, sotaväen ja sankarit kaikki; he vaipuivat eivätkä nousseet, he raukenivat, sammuivat niinkuin lampunsydän:
Who is bringing forth chariot and horse, A force, even a strong one: “They lie down together—they do not rise, They have been extinguished, They have been quenched as flax.”
18 Älkää entisiä muistelko, älkää menneistä välittäkö.
Do not remember former things, And do not consider ancient things.
19 Katso, minä teen uutta; nyt se puhkeaa taimelle, ettekö sitä huomaa? Niin, minä teen tien korpeen, virrat erämaahan.
Behold, I am doing a new thing, now it springs up, Do you not know it? Indeed, I put a way in a wilderness, In a desolate place—floods.
20 Minua kunnioittavat metsän eläimet, aavikkosudet ja kamelikurjet, koska minä johdan vedet korpeen, virrat erämaahan, antaakseni kansani, minun valittuni, juoda.
The beast of the field honors Me, Dragons and daughters of an ostrich, For I have given waters in a wilderness, Floods in a desolate place, To give drink to My people—My chosen.
21 Kansa, jonka minä olen itselleni valmistanut, on julistava minun kiitostani.
I have formed this people for Myself, They recount My praise.
22 Mutta et ole sinä, Jaakob, minua kutsunut, et ole sinä, Israel, itseäsi minun tähteni vaivannut.
And you have not called Me, O Jacob, For you have been wearied of Me, O Israel,
23 Et ole tuonut minulle lampaitasi polttouhriksi, et teurasuhreillasi minua kunnioittanut; en ole minä vaivannut sinua ruokauhrilla enkä suitsutusuhrilla sinua rasittanut.
You have not brought to Me, The lamb of your burnt-offerings, And [with] your sacrifices you have not honored Me, I have not caused you to serve with a present, Nor wearied you with frankincense.
24 Et ole minulle kalmoruokoa hopealla ostanut etkä minua teurasuhriesi rasvalla ravinnut-et, vaan sinä olet minua synneilläsi vaivannut, rasittanut minua pahoilla töilläsi.
You have not bought Me sweet cane with money, And have not filled Me [with] the fat of your sacrifices, Only—you have caused Me to serve with your sins, You have wearied Me with your iniquities.
25 Minä, minä pyyhin pois sinun rikkomuksesi itseni tähden, enkä sinun syntejäsi muista.
I [am] He who is blotting out Your transgressions for My own sake, And I do not remember your sins.
26 Muistuta sinä minua, käykäämme oikeutta keskenämme; puhu sinä ja näytä, että olet oikeassa.
Cause Me to remember—we are judged together, Declare that you may be justified.
27 Jo sinun esi-isäsi teki syntiä, sinun puolusmiehesi luopuivat minusta.
Your first father sinned, And your interpreters transgressed against Me,
28 Niin minä annoin häväistä pyhät ruhtinaat, jätin Jaakobin tuhon omaksi, Israelin alttiiksi pilkalle.
And I defile princes of the sanctuary, And I give Jacob to destruction, and Israel to revilings!
