1 Mooseksen 6
1 Kun ihmiset alkoivat lisääntyä maan päällä ja heille syntyi tyttäriä,
And whanne men bigunnen to be multiplied on erthe, and hadden gendrid douytris,
2 huomasivat Jumalan pojat ihmisten tyttäret ihaniksi ja ottivat vaimoikseen kaikki, jotka he parhaiksi katsoivat.
the sones of God seiyen the douytris of men that thei weren faire, and token wyues to hem of alle whiche thei hadden chose.
3 Silloin Herra sanoi: "Minun Henkeni ei ole vallitseva ihmisessä iankaikkisesti, koska hän on liha. Niin olkoon hänen aikansa sata kaksikymmentä vuotta."
And God seide, My spirit schal not dwelle in man with outen ende, for he is fleisch; and the daies of hym schulen be an hundrid and twenti yeer.
4 Siihen aikaan eli maan päällä jättiläisiä, ja myöhemminkin, kun Jumalan pojat yhtyivät ihmisten tyttäriin ja nämä synnyttivät heille lapsia; nämä olivat noita muinaisajan kuuluisia sankareita.

5 Mutta kun Herra näki, että ihmisten pahuus oli suuri maan päällä ja että kaikki heidän sydämensä aivoitukset ja ajatukset olivat kaiken aikaa ainoastaan pahat,

6 niin Herra katui tehneensä ihmiset maan päälle, ja hän tuli murheelliseksi sydämessänsä.
and repentide him that he hadde maad man in erthe; and God was war bifore ayens tyme to comyng, and was touchid with sorewe of herte with ynne;
7 Ja Herra sanoi: "Minä hävitän maan päältä ihmiset, jotka minä loin, sekä ihmiset että karjan, matelijat ja taivaan linnut; sillä minä kadun ne tehneeni".
and seide, Y schal do awei man, whom Y made of nouyt, fro the face of the erthe, fro man til to lyuynge thingis, fro crepynge beeste til to the briddis of heuene; for it repentith me that Y made hem.
8 Mutta Nooa sai armon Herran silmien edessä.
Forsothe Noe foond grace bifore the Lord.
9 Tämä on kertomus Nooan suvusta. Nooa oli aikalaistensa keskuudessa hurskas ja nuhteeton mies ja vaelsi Jumalan yhteydessä.
These ben the generaciouns of Noe. Noe was a iust man and perfit in hise generaciouns; Noe yede with God,
10 Ja Nooalle syntyi kolme poikaa, Seem, Haam ja Jaafet.
and gendride thre sones, Sem, Cam, and Jafeth.
11 Mutta maa turmeltui Jumalan edessä, ja maa tuli täyteen väkivaltaa.
Forsothe the erthe was corrupt bifore God, and was fillid with wickidnes.
12 Niin Jumala näki, että maa oli turmeltunut; sillä kaikki liha oli turmellut vaelluksensa maan päällä.
And whanne God seiy, that the erthe was corrupt, for ech fleisch ether man hadde corrupt his weie on erthe,
13 Silloin Jumala sanoi Nooalle: "Minä olen päättänyt tehdä lopun kaikesta lihasta, sillä maa on heidän tähtensä täynnä väkivaltaa; katso, minä hävitän heidät ynnä maan.
he seide to Noe, The ende of al fleisch is comen bifore me; the erthe is fillid with wickidnesse of the face of hem, and Y schal distrye hem with the erthe.
14 Tee itsellesi arkki honkapuista, rakenna arkki täyteen kammioita, ja tervaa se sisältä ja ulkoa.
Make thou to thee a schip of trees hewun and planed; thou schalt make dwellynge placis in the schip, and thou schalt anoynte it with pitche with ynne and with outforth.
15 Ja näin on sinun se rakennettava: kolmesataa kyynärää olkoon arkin pituus, viisikymmentä kyynärää sen leveys ja kolmekymmentä kyynärää sen korkeus.
And so thou schalt make it. The lengthe of the schip schal be of thre hundrid cubitis, the brede schal be of fifti cubitis, and the hiynesse therof schal be of thretti cubitis.
16 Tee arkkiin valoaukko, ja tee se kyynärän korkuiseksi, ja sijoita arkin ovi sen kylkeen; rakenna siihen kolme kerrosta, alimmainen, keskimmäinen ja ylimmäinen.
Thou schalt make a wyndow in the schip, and thou schalt ende the hiynesse therof in a cubite; sotheli thou schalt sette the dore of the schip in the side binethe; thou shalt make soleris and placis of thre chaumbris in the schip.
17 Sillä katso, minä annan vedenpaisumuksen tulla yli maan hävittämään taivaan alta kaiken lihan, kaiken, jossa on elämän henki; kaikki, mikä on maan päällä, on hukkuva.
Lo! Y schal brynge `watris of diluuye ether greet flood on erthe, and Y schal sle ech fleisch in which is the spirit of lijf vndir heuene, and alle thingis that ben in erthe, schulen be wastid.
18 Mutta sinun kanssasi minä teen liiton, ja sinun on mentävä arkkiin, sinun ja sinun poikiesi, vaimosi ja miniäisi sinun kanssasi.
And Y schal sette my couenaunt of pees with thee; and thou schalt entre in to the schip, and thy sones, and thi wijf, and the wiues of thi sones schulen entre with thee.
19 Ja kaikista eläimistä, kaikesta lihasta, sinun on vietävä arkkiin kaksi kutakin lajia säilyttääksesi ne hengissä kanssasi; niitä olkoon koiras ja naaras.
And of alle lyuynge beestis of al fleisch thou schalt brynge in to the schip tweyne and tweyne, of male kynde and female, that thei lyue with thee;
20 Lintuja lajiensa mukaan, karjaeläimiä lajiensa mukaan ja kaikkia maan matelijoita lajiensa mukaan tulkoon kaksi kutakin lajia sinun luoksesi, säilyttääksesi ne hengissä.
of briddis bi her kynde, and of werk beestis in her kynde, and of ech crepynge beeste of erthe, by her kynde; tweyne and tweyne of alle schulen entre with thee, that thei moun lyue.
21 Ja hanki itsellesi kaikkinaista ravintoa, syötäväksi kelpaavaa, ja kokoa sitä talteesi, että se olisi ruuaksi sinulle ja heille."
Therfore thou schalt take with thee of alle metis that moun be etun, and thou schalt bere to gidre at thee, and tho schulen be as well to thee as to the beestis in to mete.
22 Ja Nooa teki näin; aivan niin kuin Jumala hänen käski tehdä, niin hän teki.
Therfor Noe dide alle thingis whiche God comaundide to hym.
