Hesekielin 35
1 Minulle tuli tämä Herran sana:
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 "Ihmislapsi, käännä kasvosi Seirin vuorta kohti ja ennusta sitä vastaan
Son of man, set thy face against the mountain of Se'ir, and prophecy against it,
3 ja sano sille: Näin sanoo Herra, Herra: Katso, minä käyn sinun kimppuusi, Seirin vuori, ojennan käteni sinua vastaan ja teen sinut autioksi ja hävitetyksi.
And say unto it, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will be against thee, O mountain of Se'ir, and I will stretch out my hand over thee, and I will render thee desolate and wasted.
4 Sinun kaupunkisi minä teen raunioiksi ja sinä itse tulet autioksi. Ja sinä tulet tietämään, että minä olen Herra.
Thy cities will I lay in ruins, and thou thyself shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.
5 Koska sinä pidit ikuista vihaa ja annoit israelilaiset alttiiksi miekalle heidän onnettomuutensa aikana, aikana, jolloin syntivelka tuli loppumääräänsä,
Because thou hast had an undying hatred, and didst surrender the children of Israel to the power of the sword, at the time of their calamity, at the time of the iniquity of the end:
6 sentähden, niin totta kuin minä elän, sanoo Herra, Herra, minä teen sinut verivirraksi, ja veri on sinua vainoava: totisesti, vereen saakka sinä olet vihannut, ja veri on sinua vainoava.
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Eternal, I will surely let thy blood flow, and blood shall pursue thee; since thou didst not hate blood-shedding, so shall blood pursue thee.
7 Minä teen Seirin vuoren tyhjäksi ja autioksi ja hävitän sieltä menijän ja tulijan.
Thus will I change the mountain of Se'ir into a desolate land and a waste, and I will cut off from it him that travelleth forward and backward.
8 Sen vuoret minä täytän sen surmatuilla. Miekalla surmattuja kaatuu sinun kukkuloillasi ja laaksoissasi ja kaikissa puronotkoissasi.
And I will fill his mountains with his slain: as regardeth thy hills, and thy valleys, and all thy ravines, in them shall fall those that are slain by the sword.
9 Minä teen sinut ikiautioksi, ja sinun kaupunkisi jäävät asumattomiksi. Ja te tulette tietämään, että minä olen Herra.
Into perpetual desolations will I change thee, and thy cities shall not be restored: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
10 Koska sinä olet sanonut: 'Ne kaksi kansaa ja kaksi maata ovat minun, me otamme ne omiksemme', vaikka siellä on Herra,
Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall indeed be mine, and we will take possession thereof; whereas the Lord was there:
11 sentähden, niin totta kuin minä elän, sanoo Herra, Herra, minä teen sinun kiukkusi ja kiivautesi mukaan, teen sen, minkä sinä vihassasi olet heille tehnyt. Ja minä teen itseni heille tunnetuksi, kun niin tuomitsen sinut,
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will even do according to thy anger, and according to thy envy which thou didst use out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I judge thee.
12 ja sinä tulet tietämään, että minä olen Herra. Minä olen kuullut kaikki sinun pilkkasi, jotka olet puhunut Israelin vuoria vastaan, kun olet sanonut: 'Ne ovat autioina, ne ovat annetut meidän syötäviksemme'.
And thou shalt know that I am the Lord: I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given unto us to consume them.
13 Te suurentelitte minua vastaan suullanne, ja ylenpalttiset olivat teidän puheenne minua vastaan: minä olen ne kuullut.
And ye boasted greatly against me with your mouth, and have multiplied against me your words: I have indeed heard them.
14 Näin sanoo Herra, Herra: Iloksi kaikelle maalle minä teen sinut autioksi.
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.
15 Niinkuin sinä iloitsit Israelin heimon perintöosasta, kun se tuli autioksi, niin teen minäkin sinulle: autioksi tulet sinä, Seirin vuori, samoin koko Edom kaikkinensa. Ja niin he tulevat tietämään, että minä olen Herra."
As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was made desolate: so will I do unto thee; desolate shalt thou be, O mountain of Se'ir, and all Idumea—altogether; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
