2 Mooseksen 10
1 Sitten Herra sanoi Moosekselle: "Mene faraon tykö, sillä minä olen koventanut hänen sydämensä ja hänen palvelijainsa sydämet, että tekisin nämä tunnustekoni heidän keskellänsä
Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, —for, I, have suffered his heart to be dull and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs, in their midst;
2 ja että sinä kertoisit lapsillesi ja lastesi lapsille, mitä minä olen tehnyt egyptiläisille, ja minun tunnustekoni, jotka olen tehnyt heidän keskellänsä, tietääksenne, että minä olen Herra".
and that thou mayest recount in the ears of thy son and thy sons’ son, what I did in derision of the Egyptians, and my signs which I displayed among them, —so shall ye know that I, am Yahweh.
3 Niin Mooses ja Aaron menivät faraon tykö ja sanoivat hänelle: "Näin sanoo Herra, hebrealaisten Jumala: Kuinka kauan sinä kieltäydyt nöyrtymästä minun edessäni? Päästä minun kansani palvelemaan minua.
And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of the Hebrews, How long hast thou refused to humble thyself before me? Let my people go that they may serve me.
4 Sillä jos sinä kieltäydyt päästämästä minun kansaani, niin katso, minä annan huomenna tulla sinun maahasi heinäsirkkoja.
But if, refusing, thou art to let my people go, behold me bringing in tomorrow a locust within thy bounds;
5 Ja ne peittävät maan pinnan, niin ettei maata näy, ja ne syövät tähteet siitä, mikä teille rakeilta pelastui ja jäi, ja ne syövät kaikki teidän puunne, jotka kedolla kasvavat.
and it shall cover the eye of the land, so that one shall not be able to see the land, —and it shall eat the residue that hath escaped, that is left you from the hail, and shall eat up all the trees that sprout for you out of the field;
6 Ja ne täyttävät sinun talosi ja kaikkien sinun palvelijaisi talot ja kaikkien egyptiläisten talot, niin ettei sinun isäsi eivätkä esi-isäsi ole sellaista nähneet siitä päivästä, jona tulivat maailmaan, hamaan tähän päivään asti." Ja hän kääntyi ja lähti pois faraon luota.
and they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants and the houses of all the Egyptians, such as thy fathers and thy fathers’ fathers have never seen, from the day they came to be on the ground, until this day. And he turned away, and came out from the presence of Pharaoh.
7 Mutta faraon palvelijat sanoivat hänelle: "Kuinka kauan tämä mies on oleva meille paulaksi? Päästä miehet palvelemaan Herraa, heidän Jumalaansa. Etkö vieläkään ymmärrä, että Egypti joutuu perikatoon?"
Then said the servants of Pharaoh unto him, How long shall this [man] become to us a snare? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh their God. Not yet, knowest thou, that Egypt is, ruined?
8 Niin Mooses ja Aaron tuotiin takaisin faraon eteen. Ja tämä sanoi heille: "Menkää ja palvelkaa Herraa, Jumalaanne. Vaan ketkä menevät?"
So Moses and Aaron were brought back unto pharaoh, and he said unto them—Go, serve Yahweh your God, —who, are they that are going?
9 Mooses vastasi: "Me menemme, nuoret ja vanhat, me menemme poikinemme ja tyttärinemme, lampainemme ja karjoinemme; sillä meillä on Herran juhla".
And Moses said, With our young and with our old, will we go, —with our sons and with our daughters with our flocks and with our herds, will we go, —for, the festival of Yahweh, is ours.
10 Niin hän sanoi heille: "Olkoon vain Herra teidän kanssanne, kunhan minä ensin päästän teidät ja teidän vaimonne ja lapsenne. Katsokaa, teillä on paha mielessä.
Then he said unto them: Let Yahweh, so, be with you, when I let go you and your little ones! Look out for, harm, is straight before your faces.
11 Siitä ei tule mitään. Mutta menkää te, miehet, ja palvelkaa Herraa, sillä sitähän te olette pyytäneetkin." Ja heidät ajettiin pois faraon edestä.
Not so! Go, I pray you, ye grown men and serve Yahweh, for, that, is what, ye, were seeking. And they were driven out from the presence of Pharaoh.
12 Ja Herra sanoi Moosekselle: "Ojenna kätesi Egyptin maan yli ja tuo tänne heinäsirkat; tulkoon niitä Egyptin maahan, ja syökööt ne kaikki maan kasvit, kaikki, mitä rakeilta on jäänyt".
Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Stretch forth thy hand over the land of Egypt for the locust, that it may come up over the land of Egypt, —and may eat up every herb of the land, all that the hail hath left.
13 Niin Mooses ojensi sauvansa Egyptin maan yli, ja Herra antoi itätuulen puhaltaa yli maan koko sen päivän ja koko yön; kun aamu tuli, toi itätuuli heinäsirkat mukanaan.
And Moses stretched forth his staff over the land of Egypt, and, Yahweh, caused an east wind to drive through the land, all that day, and all the night, —when the morning, had come, the east wind, had brought the locust.
14 Ja heinäsirkkoja tuli koko Egyptin maahan, ja ne laskeutuivat ylen suurina laumoina koko Egyptin alueelle; niin paljon ei heinäsirkkoja ollut koskaan sitä ennen tullut eikä sen jälkeen tule.
And the locust came up over all the land of Egypt, and settled in all the bounds of Egypt, —very grievous, before it, had not been such a locust as that, neither after it, should be one like it.
15 Ne peittivät koko maan pinnan, niin että maa tuli mustaksi; ja ne söivät kaikki maan kasvit ja kaikki puiden hedelmät, jotka olivat rakeilta säilyneet. Niin ei jäänyt mitään vihantaa jäljelle puihin eikä kedon kasveihin koko Egyptin maassa.
So it covered the eye of all the land and the land was darkened, and it did eat every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees, which the hail had left remaining, —so that there was not left remaining any green sprout in the trees or in the herb of the field in all the land of Egypt.
16 Silloin farao kutsutti kiiruusti Mooseksen ja Aaronin ja sanoi: "Minä olen rikkonut Herraa, teidän Jumalaanne, ja teitä vastaan.
Then hastened Pharaoh, to call for Moses and for Aaron, —and said—I have sinned against Yahweh your God, and against you.
17 Anna nyt anteeksi minun rikkomukseni vielä tämä kerta, ja rukoilkaa Herraa, Jumalaanne, että hän poistaisi minulta ainakin tämän surman."
Now, therefore, forgive I pray you my sin—only this time, and make entreaty to Yahweh your God, —that he may take away from me, at least, this death.
18 Niin hän lähti pois faraon luota ja rukoili Herraa.
So he came out from Pharaoh, —and made entreaty unto Yahweh;
19 Ja Herra käänsi tuulen hyvin kovaksi länsituuleksi; se vei heinäsirkat mukanaan ja painoi ne Kaislamereen, niin ettei yhtäkään heinäsirkkaa jäänyt koko Egyptin alueelle.
and Yahweh turned back a west wind strong exceedingly, and carried away the locust and cast it into the Red Sea, —there was not left a single locust in all the bounds of Egypt.
20 Mutta Herra paadutti faraon sydämen, niin ettei hän päästänyt israelilaisia.
But Yahweh suffered the heart of Pharaoh to wax bold, —and he did not let the sons of Israel go.
21 Sitten Herra sanoi Moosekselle: "Ojenna kätesi taivasta kohti, niin Egyptin maahan tulee sellainen pimeys, että siihen voi käsin tarttua".
Then said Yahweh unto Moses: Stretch forth thy hand over the heavens, that there may be darkness, over the land of Egypt, —and that one may feel the darkness.
22 Ja Mooses ojensi kätensä taivasta kohti, ja koko Egyptin maahan tuli synkeä pimeys kolmeksi päiväksi.
So Moses stretched forth his hand over the heavens, —and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days;
23 Ei kukaan voinut nähdä toistansa, eikä kukaan voinut liikkua paikaltansa kolmeen päivään. Mutta kaikilla israelilaisilla oli valoisata asuinpaikoissansa.
they saw not one another neither rose any man from his couch for three days, —but all the sons of Israel, had light in their dwellings.
24 Niin farao kutsui Mooseksen ja sanoi: "Menkää ja palvelkaa Herraa; ainoastaan lampaanne ja karjanne jääkööt tänne. Myöskin vaimonne ja lapsenne menkööt teidän mukananne."
Then Pharaoh called out unto Moses and said—Go serve Yahweh, only, your flocks and your herds, shall be left, —even your little ones shall go with you.
25 Mutta Mooses sanoi: "Sinun on annettava mukaamme myös teurasuhrit ja polttouhrit, uhrataksemme niitä Herralle, Jumalallemme.
And Moses said, Even thou thyself, shalt give into our hands sacrifices and ascending-offerings, —so shall we present offerings to Yahweh our God.
26 Karjammekin täytyy tulla meidän kanssamme, ei sorkkaakaan saa jäädä, sillä siitä meidän on otettava uhrit palvellaksemme Herraa, Jumalaamme, emmekä itsekään tiedä, ennenkuin tulemme sinne, mitä meidän on uhrattava palvellessamme Herraa."
Moreover also, our own cattle, shall go with us—there shall not be left behind, a hoof, for thereof, must we take, to serve Yahweh our God, —even we ourselves, cannot know wherewith we must serve Yahweh, until we have come in thither.
27 Mutta Herra paadutti faraon sydämen, niin että hän ei tahtonut päästää heitä.
And Yahweh let the heart of Pharaoh wax bold, —and he was not willing to let them go.
28 Ja farao sanoi hänelle: "Mene pois luotani ja varo, ettet enää tule minun kasvojeni eteen; sillä sinä päivänä, jona tulet minun kasvojeni eteen, sinä olet kuoleva".
So Pharaoh said to him—Get thee from me, —take heed to thyself—do not any more! see my face, for in the day thou dost see my face, thou shalt die.
29 Mooses vastasi: "Oikein sinä puhuit; minä en tule tämän jälkeen sinun kasvojesi eteen".
And Moses said—Well hast thou spoken, —no more again to see thy face.
