1 "Älköön kukaan, joka on kuohittu musertamalla tai leikkaamalla, pääskö Herran seurakuntaan.
He that is wounded in the testicles, or hath his privy member cut, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
2 Älköön kukaan sekasikiö pääskö Herran seurakuntaan; älköön sellaisen jälkeläinen edes kymmenennessä polvessa pääskö Herran seurakuntaan.
One born from prohibited connections shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even the tenth generation of him shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
3 Älköön ammonilainen ja mooabilainen pääskö Herran seurakuntaan; älkööt heidän jälkeläisensä edes kymmenennessä polvessa koskaan pääskö Herran seurakuntaan,
An 'Ammonite and a Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even the tenth generation of him shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord, for ever;
4 sentähden että he eivät tulleet leipää ja vettä tuoden teitä vastaan matkalla, kun olitte lähteneet Egyptistä, ja sentähden että hän palkkasi sinua vastaan Bileamin, Beorin pojan, Mesopotamian Petorista, sinua kiroamaan.
For the reason, that they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because he hired against thee Bil'am the son of Beor of Pethor in Mesopotamia, to curse thee;
5 Mutta Herra, sinun Jumalasi, ei tahtonut kuulla Bileamia, vaan Herra, sinun Jumalasi, muutti kirouksen sinulle siunaukseksi, sillä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, rakasti sinua.
But the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Bil'am; and the Lord thy God changed unto thee the curse into a blessing, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6 Älä koskaan, älä koko elinaikanasi, harrasta heidän menestystään ja onneaan.
Thou shalt not seek their peace and their welfare all thy days, for ever.
7 Edomilaista älä inhoa, sillä hän on sinun veljesi. Älä inhoa egyptiläistä, sillä sinä olet asunut muukalaisena hänen maassaan.
Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother; thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.
8 Lapset, jotka heille syntyvät kolmannessa polvessa, pääskööt Herran seurakuntaan.
The children that are born unto them in the third generation, may enter of them into the congregation of the Lord.
9 Kun lähdettyäsi vihollisiasi vastaan asetut leiriin, karta kaikkea siivotonta.
When thou goest forth into camp against thy enemies, then keep thyself from every evil thing.
10 Jos sinun keskuudessasi on joku, joka ei ole puhdas sen johdosta, mitä hänelle yöllä on tapahtunut, menköön hän leirin ulkopuolelle; hän älköön tulko leiriin.
If there be among thee any man, that is not clean by reason of an occurrence by night; then shall he go abroad to without the camp, he shall not come within the camp;
11 Illan suussa hän peseytyköön vedessä, ja auringon laskettua hän tulkoon leiriin.
But it shall be, that toward evening he shall bathe himself in water; and when the sun goeth down, he may come into the midst of the camp.
12 Leirin ulkopuolella olkoon sinulla syrjäinen paikka, johon sinun on mentävä tarpeellesi.
And a place shalt thou have without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
13 Ja sinulla olkoon aseittesi lisänä pieni lapio, ja kun siellä ulkona istut tarpeellesi, kaiva sillä kuoppa ja peitä sitten ulostuksesi.
And a spade shalt thou have with thy weapons: and it shall be, when thou sittest abroad, that thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt afterward cover that which cometh from thee;
14 Sillä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, vaeltaa leirissä auttaaksensa sinua ja antaakseen vihollisesi sinulle alttiiksi; sentähden olkoon sinun leirisi pyhä, ettei hän näkisi sinun keskuudessasi mitään häpeällistä ja kääntyisi pois sinusta.
For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee and to give up thy enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy; that he see no unseemly thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
15 Älä luovuta orjaa, joka on paennut isäntänsä luota sinun luoksesi, hänen isännällensä.
Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant who may escape unto thee from his master;
16 Hän asukoon sinun luonasi, sinun keskuudessasi, valitsemassaan paikassa, jonkun kaupunkisi porttien sisäpuolella, missä hän viihtyy; älä sorra häntä.
With thee shall he dwell, in the midst of thee, in the place which he may choose in any one of thy gates, where it seemeth best to him: thou shalt not oppress him.
17 Älköön pyhäkköporttoa olko Israelin tyttärien joukossa älköönkä haureellista pyhäkköpoikaa Israelin poikien joukossa.
There shall not be a prostitute of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
18 Älä tuo portonpalkkaa äläkä koiranpalkkaa Herran, sinun Jumalasi, huoneeseen lupauksen suoritukseksi, sillä molemmat ovat kauhistus Herralle, sinun Jumalallesi.
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow; for both of these are equally an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
19 Älä pane veljeäsi maksamaan korkoa rahasta tai elintarpeista tai muusta, mitä korkoa vastaan lainataan.
Thou shalt not take interest from thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of any thing that is lent upon interest:
20 Muukalaisen saat panna korkoa maksamaan, mutta et veljeäsi, että Herra, sinun Jumalasi, siunaisi sinua kaikessa, mihin ryhdyt, siinä maassa, jota menet ottamaan omaksesi.
From an alien thou mayest take interest; but from thy brother thou shalt not take interest; in order that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the acquisition of thy hand, in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
21 Kun teet lupauksen Herralle, sinun Jumalallesi, niin täytä se viivyttelemättä, sillä totisesti on Herra, sinun Jumalasi, sen vaativa sinulta, ja sinä joudut syyhyn.
When thou makest a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it; for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
22 Mutta jos jätät lupauksen tekemättä, et joudu syyhyn.
But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
23 Pidä se, mikä on huuliltasi lähtenyt, ja tee, niinkuin vapaaehtoisesti olet luvannut Herralle, sinun Jumalallesi, niinkuin olet suullasi puhunut.
What is gone out of thy lips shalt thou keep and perform, as thou hast vowed unto the Lord thy God voluntarily, as thou hast spoken with thy mouth.
24 Kun tulet lähimmäisesi viinitarhaan, niin saat syödä rypäleitä, minkä mielesi tekee, kunnes olet saanut kylläsi, mutta älä pane mitään astiaasi.
When thou comest into thy neighbor's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes at thy own pleasure, till thou have enough; but into thy vessel shalt thou not put any.
25 Kun tulet lähimmäisesi viljapellolle, niin saat kädelläsi katkoa tähkäpäitä, mutta sirppiä älä heiluta lähimmäisesi viljapellolla."
When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbor, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but a sickle shall thou not move over thy neighbor's standing corn.
