1 Kuninkaiden 3
1 Ja Salomo tuli faraon, Egyptin kuninkaan, vävyksi: hän otti faraon tyttären vaimokseen. Ja hän vei hänet Daavidin kaupunkiin, kunnes oli saanut rakennetuksi oman linnansa, Herran temppelin ja Jerusalemin ympärysmuurin.
And he became son-in-law Solomon with Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and he took [the] daughter of Pharaoh and he brought her to [the] city of David until finished he to build house his and [the] house of Yahweh and [the] wall of Jerusalem all around.
2 Mutta kansa uhrasi uhrikukkuloilla, koska niihin aikoihin ei vielä oltu rakennettu temppeliä Herran nimelle.
Only the people [were] sacrificing at the high places for not it had been built a house for [the] name of Yahweh until the days those.
3 Ja Salomo rakasti Herraa ja vaelsi isänsä Daavidin käskyjen mukaan; kuitenkin hän uhrasi ja suitsutti uhrikukkuloilla.
And he loved Solomon Yahweh to walk in [the] statutes of David father his only at the high places he [was] sacrificing and making smoke.
4 Niin kuningas meni Gibeoniin, uhraamaan siellä, sillä se oli suurin uhrikukkula. Tuhat polttouhria Salomo uhrasi sillä alttarilla.
And he went the king Gibeon towards to sacrifice there for that [was] the high place great a thousand burnt offerings he offered up Solomon on the altar that.
5 Gibeonissa Herra ilmestyi Salomolle yöllä unessa, ja Jumala sanoi: "Ano, mitä tahdot, että minä sinulle antaisin".
At Gibeon he appeared Yahweh to Solomon in a dream the night and he said God ask what? will I give to you.
6 Salomo vastasi: "Sinä olet tehnyt suuren laupeuden palvelijallesi, minun isälleni Daavidille, koska hän vaelsi sinun edessäsi totuudessa ja vanhurskaudessa sekä vilpittömällä sydämellä sinua kohtaan. Ja sinä olet säilyttänyt hänelle tämän suuren laupeuden ja antanut hänelle pojan, joka istuu hänen valtaistuimellansa, niinkuin on laita tänä päivänä.
And he said Solomon you you have done with servant your David father my covenant loyalty great just as he walked before you in faithfulness and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with you and you have kept to him the covenant loyalty great this and you have given to him a son [who] sits on throne his as the day this.
7 Ja nyt, Herra, minun Jumalani, sinä olet tehnyt palvelijasi kuninkaaksi minun isäni Daavidin sijaan; mutta minä olen kuin pieni poikanen: en osaa lähteä enkä tulla.
And now O Yahweh God my you you have made king servant your in place of David father my and I [am] a lad young not I know to go out and to come.
8 Ja palvelijasi on keskellä sinun kansaasi, jonka olet valinnut, niin monilukuista kansaa, että sitä ei voi laskea eikä lukea sen paljouden tähden.
And servant your [is] in among people your which you have chosen a people numerous which not it will be numbered and not it will be counted from multitude.
9 Anna sentähden palvelijallesi kuuliainen sydän tuomitakseni sinun kansaasi ja erottaakseni hyvän pahasta; sillä kuka voi muuten tätä sinun suurta kansaasi tuomita?"
And you will give to servant your a heart [which] listens to judge people your to distinguish between good and evil for who? is he able to judge people your massive this.
10 Herralle oli otollista, että Salomo tätä anoi.
And it was good the thing in [the] eyes of [the] Lord that he had asked Solomon the thing this.
11 Ja Jumala sanoi hänelle: "Koska sinä anoit tätä etkä anonut itsellesi pitkää ikää, et rikkautta etkä vihamiestesi henkeä, vaan anoit itsellesi ymmärrystä kuullaksesi, mikä oikein on,
And he said God to him because that you asked the thing this and not you asked for yourself days many and not you asked for yourself wealth and not you asked [the] life of enemies your and you asked for yourself to understand to hear judgment.
12 niin katso, minä teen, niinkuin sanot: katso, minä annan sinulle viisaan ja ymmärtäväisen sydämen, niin ettei sinun vertaistasi ole ollut ennen sinua eikä tule sinun jälkeesi.
Here! I do according to words your here! - I give to you a heart wise and understanding that like you not anyone has been before you and after you not anyone will arise like you.
13 Ja lisäksi minä annan sinulle, mitä et anonutkaan: sekä rikkautta että kunniaa, niin ettei koko elinaikanasi ole kuningasten joukossa oleva sinun vertaistasi.
And also [that] which not you asked for I give to you both wealth as well as honor that not he has been like you anyone among the kings all days your.
14 Ja jos sinä vaellat minun teitäni, noudattaen minun säädöksiäni ja käskyjäni, niinkuin sinun isäsi Daavid vaelsi, niin minä suon sinulle pitkän iän."
And if - you will walk in ways my to keep statutes my and commandments my just as he walked David father your and I will make long days your.
15 Siihen Salomo heräsi; ja katso, se oli unta. Ja kun hän tuli Jerusalemiin, astui hän Herran liitonarkin eteen, uhrasi polttouhreja ja toimitti yhteysuhrin ja laittoi pidot kaikille palvelijoillensa.
And he awoke Solomon and there! [it was] a dream and he went Jerusalem and he stood - before - [the] ark of [the] covenant of [the] Lord and he offered up burnt offerings and he made peace offerings and he made a feast for all servants his.
16 Siihen aikaan tuli kaksi porttoa kuninkaan luo, ja he astuivat hänen eteensä.
Then they came two women prostitutes to the king and they stood before him.
17 Ja toinen nainen sanoi: "Oi herrani, minä ja tämä nainen asumme samassa huoneessa. Ja minä synnytin hänen luonansa siinä huoneessa.
And she said the woman one pardon me O lord my I and the woman this [are] dwelling in a house one and I gave birth with her in the house.
18 Ja kolmantena päivänä sen jälkeen, kun minä olin synnyttänyt, synnytti myös tämä nainen. Me olimme yhdessä, eikä ketään vierasta ollut meidän kanssamme huoneessa; ainoastaan me kahden olimme huoneessa.
And it was on the day third of giving birth my and she gave birth also the woman this and we [were] together there not [was] a stranger with us in the house except two we [were] in the house.
19 Mutta tämän naisen poika kuoli yöllä, sillä hän oli maannut sen.
And he died [the] son of the woman this night that she lay on him.
20 Niin hän nousi keskellä yötä ja otti minun poikani vierestäni palvelijattaresi nukkuessa ja pani sen povellensa, mutta oman kuolleen poikansa hän pani minun povelleni.
And she rose in [the] middle of the night and she took son my from beside me and maidservant your [was] sleeping and she made lie him in bosom her and son her dead she made lie in bosom my.
21 Kun minä aamulla nousin imettämään poikaani, niin katso, se oli kuollut. Mutta kun minä tarkastin sitä aamulla, niin katso, se ei ollutkaan minun poikani, jonka minä olin synnyttänyt."
And I rose in the morning to suckle son my and there! he had died and I looked carefully to him in the morning and there! not it was son my whom I had borne.
22 Niin toinen nainen sanoi: "Ei ole niin; vaan tuo elossa oleva on minun poikani, ja tämä kuollut on sinun poikasi". Mutta edellinen vastasi: "Ei ole niin; tuo kuollut on sinun poikasi, ja tämä elossa oleva on minun poikani". Näin he riitelivät kuninkaan edessä.
And she said the woman other In-deed [is] son my the living one and [is] son your the dead [one] and this [one] [was] saying In-deed [is] son your the dead [one] and [is] son my the living one and they spoke before the king.
23 Niin kuningas sanoi: "Toinen sanoo: 'Elossa oleva on minun poikani, ja kuollut on sinun poikasi'. Ja toinen sanoo: 'Ei ole niin; vaan kuollut on sinun poikasi, ja elossa oleva on minun poikani'."
And he said the king this [one] [is] saying this son my [is] the living one and son your [is] the dead [one] and this [one] [is] saying In-deed son your [is] the dead [one] and son my [is] the living one.
24 Sitten kuningas sanoi: "Antakaa minulle miekka". Ja kuninkaan eteen tuotiin miekka.
And he said the king take for me a sword and they brought the sword before the king.
25 Ja kuningas sanoi: "Viiltäkää elossa oleva lapsi kahtia, ja antakaa toinen puoli toiselle ja toinen puoli toiselle".
And he said the king cut the child living into two and give half to one and half to one.
26 Mutta silloin sanoi kuninkaalle se nainen, jonka oma elossa oleva poika oli, sillä hänen sydämensä tuli liikutetuksi hänen poikansa tähden-hän sanoi: "Oi herrani, antakaa tuolle elossa oleva lapsi; älkää surmatko sitä". Mutta toinen sanoi: "Ei minulle eikä sinulle; viiltäkää!"
And she said the woman whom [was] son her the living one to the king for they had grown warm compassion her on son her and she said - pardon me O lord my give to her the child living and certainly may not you kill him and this [one] [was] saying neither to me nor to you not he will belong cut.
27 Niin kuningas vastasi ja sanoi: "Antakaa tälle elossa oleva lapsi; älkää surmatko sitä. Hän on sen äiti."
And he answered the king and he said give to her the child living and certainly not you must kill him she [is] mother his.
28 Ja koko Israel kuuli tästä tuomiosta, jonka kuningas oli antanut, ja he pelkäsivät kuningasta; sillä he näkivät, että hänessä oli Jumalan viisaus oikeuden jakamiseen.
And they heard all Israel the judgment which he had judged the king and they were afraid of the king for they saw that [the] wisdom of God [was] within him to do justice.
