1 Aikakirja 16
1 Kun he olivat tuoneet Jumalan arkin ja asettaneet sen majaan, jonka Daavid oli sille pystyttänyt, uhrasivat he polttouhreja ja yhteysuhreja Jumalan edessä.
So they brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle which David pitched for it; and they offered whole burnt offerings and peace-offerings before God.
2 Ja kun Daavid oli uhrannut polttouhrin ja yhteysuhrit, siunasi hän kansan Herran nimeen.
And David finished offering up whole burnt offerings and peace-offerings, and blessed the people in the name of the Lord.
3 Ja hän jakoi kaikille israelilaisille, sekä miehille että naisille, kullekin leipäkakun, kappaleen lihaa ja rypälekakun.
And he divided to every man of Israel (both men and women), to [every] man one baker's loaf, and a cake.
4 Ja hän asetti Herran arkin eteen leeviläisiä palvelemaan ja kunnioittamaan, kiittämään ja ylistämään Herraa, Israelin Jumalaa:
And he appointed before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, Levites to minister [and] lift up the voice, and to give thanks and praise the Lord God of Israel:
5 Aasafin johtajaksi, toiseksi Sakarjan, sitten Jegielin, Semiramotin, Jehielin, Mattitjan, Eliabin, Benajan, Oobed-Edomin ja Jegielin soittamaan harpuilla ja kanteleilla, Aasafin helistäessä kymbaaleja
Asaph [was] the chief, and next to him Zacharias, Jeiel, Semiramoth, and Jeiel, Mattathias, Eliab, and Banaeas, and Abdedom: and Jeiel sounding with musical instruments, lutes [and] harps, and Asaph with cymbals:
6 ja pappien, Benajan ja Jahasielin, soittaessa yhtämittaa torvia Jumalan liitonarkin edessä.
and Banaeas and Oziel the priests [sounding] continually with trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God in that day.
7 Silloin, sinä päivänä, ensi kerran Daavid asetti Aasafin ja hänen veljensä kiittämään Herraa näin:
Then David first gave orders to praise the Lord by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
8 "Kiittäkää Herraa, julistakaa hänen nimeänsä, tehkää hänen suuret tekonsa tiettäviksi kansojen keskuudessa.
Song. Give thanks to the Lord, call upon him by his name, make known his designs among the people.
9 Laulakaa hänelle, veisatkaa hänelle, puhukaa kaikista hänen ihmeistänsä.
Sing [songs] to him, and sing hymns to him, relate to all [people] his wonderful deeds, which the Lord has wrought.
10 Hänen pyhä nimensä olkoon teidän kerskauksenne; iloitkoon niiden sydän, jotka etsivät Herraa.
Praise his holy name, the heart that seeks his pleasure shall rejoice.
11 Kysykää Herraa ja hänen voimaansa, etsikää alati hänen kasvojansa.
Seek the Lord and be strong, seek his face continually.
12 Muistakaa hänen ihmetöitänsä, jotka hän on tehnyt, hänen ihmeitänsä ja hänen suunsa tuomioita,
Remember his wonderful works which he has wrought, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
13 te Israelin, hänen palvelijansa, siemen, Jaakobin lapset, te hänen valittunsa.
[you] seed of Israel his servants, [you] seed of Jacob his chosen ones.
14 Hän, Herra, on meidän Jumalamme; hänen tuomionsa käyvät yli kaiken maan.
He [is] the Lord our God; his judgments [are] in all the earth.
15 Muistakaa hänen liittonsa iankaikkisesti, hamaan tuhansiin polviin, sana, jonka hän on säätänyt,
Let us remember his covenant for ever, his word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
16 liitto, jonka hän teki Aabrahamin kanssa, ja hänen lisakille vannomansa vala.
which he covenanted with Abraham, and his oath [sworn] to Isaac.
17 Hän vahvisti sen käskyksi Jaakobille, Israelille iankaikkiseksi liitoksi.
He confirmed it to Jacob for an ordinance, to Israel [as] an everlasting covenant,
18 Hän sanoi: 'Sinulle minä annan Kanaanin maan, se olkoon teidän perintöosanne'.
saying, To you will I give the land of Chanaan, the line of your inheritance:
19 Teitä oli vähäinen joukko, vain harvoja, ja te olitte muukalaisia siellä.
when they were few in number, when they were but little, and lived as strangers in it;
20 Ja he vaelsivat kansasta kansaan ja yhdestä valtakunnasta toiseen kansaan.
and went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.
21 Hän ei sallinut kenenkään heitä vahingoittaa, ja hän rankaisi kuninkaita heidän tähtensä:
He suffered not a man to oppress them, and he reproved kings for their sakes,
22 'Älkää koskeko minun voideltuihini, älkää tehkö pahaa minun profeetoilleni'.
saying, Touch not my anointed ones, and deal not wrongfully with my prophets.
23 Veisatkaa Herralle, kaikki maa, julistakaa päivästä päivään hänen pelastustekojansa.
Sing you to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation from day to day.
24 Ilmoittakaa pakanain seassa hänen kunniaansa, hänen ihmeitänsä kaikkien kansojen seassa.
Declare among the nations his glory, his wondrous deeds among all peoples.
25 Sillä Herra on suuri ja sangen ylistettävä, hän on peljättävä yli kaikkien jumalain.
For the Lord [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be feared above all gods.
26 Sillä kaikki kansojen jumalat ovat epäjumalia, mutta Herra on tehnyt taivaat.
For all the gods of the nations [are] idols; but our God made the heavens.
27 Kirkkaus ja kunnia on hänen kasvojensa edessä, väkevyys ja riemu hänen asuinsijassaan.
Glory and praise [are] in his presence; strength and rejoicing [are] in his place.
28 Antakaa Herralle, te kansojen sukukunnat, antakaa Herralle kunnia ja väkevyys.
Give to the Lord, you families of the nations, give to the Lord glory and strength.
29 Antakaa Herralle hänen nimensä kunnia, tuokaa lahjoja ja tulkaa hänen kasvojensa eteen, kumartakaa Herraa pyhässä kaunistuksessa.
Give to the Lord the glory [belonging] to his name: take gifts and offer [them] before him; and worship the Lord in his holy courts.
30 Vaviskaa hänen kasvojensa edessä, kaikki maa. Maan piiri pysyy lujana, se ei horju.
Let the whole earth fear before him; let the earth be established, and not be moved.
31 Iloitkoot taivaat, ja riemuitkoon maa; ja sanottakoon pakanain seassa: 'Herra on kuningas!'
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult; and let them say among the nations, The Lord reigns.
32 Pauhatkoon meri ja kaikki, mitä siinä on; ihastukoot kedot ja kaikki, mitä niissä on,
The sea with its fullness shall resound and the tree of the field, and all things in it.
33 riemuitkoot silloin metsän puut Herran edessä, sillä hän tulee tuomitsemaan maata.
Then shall the trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord, for he is come to judge the earth.
34 Kiittäkää Herraa, sillä hän on hyvä, sillä hänen armonsa pysyy iankaikkisesti.
Give thanks to the Lord, for [it is] good, for his mercy [is] for ever.
35 Ja sanokaa: 'Pelasta meidät, sinä pelastuksemme Jumala, kokoa ja vapahda meidät pakanain seasta, että me kiittäisimme sinun pyhää nimeäsi ja kerskaisimme sinun ylistyksestäsi'.
And say you, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us, and rescue us from among the heathen, that we may praise your holy name, and glory in your praises.
36 Ylistetty olkoon Herra, Israelin Jumala, iankaikkisesta iankaikkiseen." Ja kaikki kansa sanoi: "Amen", ja ylisti Herraa.
Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting: And all the people shall say, Amen. So they praised the Lord.
37 Ja hän asetti Aasafin ja hänen veljensä sinne Herran liitonarkin eteen tekemään vakituista palvelusta arkin edessä, kunakin päivänä sen päivän palveluksen,
And they left there Asaph and his brethren before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to minister before the ark continually, according to the service of each day: from day to day.
38 mutta Oobed-Edomin ja heidän veljensä, yhteensä kuusikymmentä kahdeksan, nimittäin Oobed-Edomin, Jeditunin pojan, ja Hoosan, ovenvartijoiksi.
And Abdedom and his brethren [were] sixty and eight; and Abdedom the son of Idithun, and Osa, [were] to be doorkeepers.
39 Ja pappi Saadokin ja hänen veljensä, papit, hän asetti Herran asumuksen eteen, uhrikukkulalle, joka on Gibeonissa,
And [they appointed] Sadoc the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place in Gabaon,
40 uhraamaan polttouhreja Herralle polttouhrialttarilla, aina aamuin ja illoin, kaikki niinkuin on kirjoitettuna Herran laissa, jonka hän on antanut Israelille.
to offer up whole burnt offerings continually morning and evening, and according to all things written in the law of the Lord, which he commanded the children of Israel by Moses the servant of God.
41 Ja heidän kanssaan olivat Heeman ja Jedutun ynnä muut valitut, nimeltä mainitut, kiittämässä Herraa siitä, että hänen armonsa pysyy iankaikkisesti.
And with him [were] Aeman and Idithun, and the rest chosen out by name to praise the Lord, for his mercy [endures] for ever.
42 Näiden, Heemanin ja Jedutunin, hallussa oli torvet ja kymbaalit soittajia varten ynnä muut soittimet Jumalan virttä varten. Ja Jedutunin pojat vartioivat ovia.
And with them [there were] trumpets and cymbals to sound aloud, and musical instruments for the songs of God: and the sons of Idithun [were] at the gate.
43 Sitten kaikki kansa lähti kukin kotiinsa, ja Daavid kääntyi takaisin tervehtimään perhettänsä.
And all the people went every one to his home: and David returned to bless his house.
