Psalmien 97
1 Herra on kuningas, siitä maa iloitkaan: olkoon saaret riemuiset, niin monta kuin heitä on.
The Lord reigneth: let the earth reioyce: let the multitude of the yles be glad.
2 Pilvet ja pimeys ovat hänen ympärillänsä: vanhurskaus ja tuomio ovat hänen istuimensa vahvistus.
Cloudes and darkenes are round about him: righteousnesse and iudgement are the foundation of his throne.
3 Tuli käy hänen edellänsä ja polttaa ympärillä hänen vihollisensa.
There shall goe a fire before him, and burne vp his enemies round about.
4 Hänen leimauksensa välkkyvät maan piirin päällä: maa näkee sen ja vapisee.
His lightnings gaue light vnto the worlde: the earth sawe it and was afraide.
5 Vuoret sulavat niinkuin vedenvaha Herran edessä, koko maailman Herran edessä.
The mountaines melted like waxe at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 Taivaat julistavat hänen vanhurskauttansa, ja kaikki kansat näkevät hänen kunniansa.
The heauens declare his righteousnes, and all the people see his glory.
7 Hävetkäät kaikki, jotka kuvia palvelevat, ja kerskaavat epäjumalista: kumartakaat häntä kaikki enkelit.
Confounded be all they that serue grauen images, and that glory in idoles: worship him all ye gods.
8 Zion kuulee sen ja iloitsee, ja Juudan tyttäret ovat riemuissansa, Herra, sinun hallituksestas.
Zion heard of it, and was glad: and the daughters of Iudah reioyced, because of thy iudgements, O Lord.
9 Sillä sinä, Herra, olet Korkein kaikissa maakunnissa: sinä olet sangen suuresti korotettu kaikkein jumalain ylitse.
For thou, Lord, art most High aboue all the earth: thou art much exalted aboue all gods.
10 Te kuin Herraa rakastatte, vihatkaat pahaa! hän kätkee pyhäinsä sielut: jumalattomain käsistä hän heitä pelastaa.
Ye that loue the Lord, hate euill: he preserueth the soules of his Saints: hee will deliuer them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Vanhurskaalle koittaa valkeus, ja ilo hurskaille sydämille,
Light is sowen for the righteous, and ioy for the vpright in heart.
12 Vanhurskaat iloitkaat Herrassa, kiittäkäät hänen pyhyytensä muistoksi.
Reioyce ye righteous in the Lord, and giue thankes for his holy remembrance.
