Psalmien 85
1 Koran lasten Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle. Herra, sinä kuin (muinen) olit armollinen sinun maakunnalles, ja Jakobin vangit lunastit,
To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:
2 Sinä anteeksi annoit kansas pahat teot, ja kaikki heidän syntinsä peitit, (Sela)
Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)
3 Sinä lepytit kaiken vihas, ja käänsit sinuas vihas julmuudesta.
Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.
4 Käännä meitä, meidän autuutemme Jumala, ja pane pois vihas meistä.
Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
5 Tahdotkos siis ijankaikkisesti olla vihainen meidän päällemme? eli vihas pitää sukukunnasta sukukuntaan?
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation?
6 Etkös käänny, ja meitä virvoita, että kansas sinussa iloitsis?
Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Herra, osoita meille armos, ja sinun autuutes anna meille.
Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.
8 Jospa minä kuulisin, mitä Herra Jumala puhuu, että hän rauhan lupasi kansallensa ja pyhillensä, ettei he hulluuteen joutuisi.
I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Kuitenkin on hänen apunsa niiden tykönä, jotka häntä pelkäävät, että meidän maallamme kunnia asuis;
Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Että laupius ja totuus keskenänsä kohtaisivat: vanhurskaus ja rauha toinen toisellensa suuta antaisivat;
Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:
11 Että totuus maasta vesois, ja vanhurskaus taivaasta katsois;
Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.
12 Että myös meille Herra hyvin tekis, ja meidän maamme hedemänsä antais;
Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.
13 Että vanhurskaus sittenkin hänen edessänsä pysyis ja menestyis.
Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.
