Psalmien 80
1 Asaphin Psalmi, kultasesta kukkaisesta, edelläveisaajalle. Kuules, Israelin paimen, joka saatat Josephin niinkuin lampaat: ilmoita sinus, joka istut Kerubimin päällä.
“To the chief musician upon Shoshannim; an 'Eduth by Assaph; a psalm.” O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
2 Herätä voimas, sinä joka Ephraimin, Benjaminin ja Manassen edessä olet, ja tule meidän avuksemme.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Menasseh awaken thy might, and come to our help.
3 Jumala, käännä meitä, ja anna kasvos paistaa, niin me tulemme autetuksi.
O God, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
4 Herra Jumala Zebaot, kuinka kauvan sinä vihastut kansas rukouksiin?
O Lord of hosts, how long shall thy anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?
5 Sinä ruokit heitä kyyneleiden leivällä, ja juotat heitä suurella mitalla, täynnä kyyneleitä,
Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Sinä olet meidät pannut riidaksi läsnäasuvaisillemme; ja meidän vihollisemme pilkkaavat meitä.
Thou renderest us a contest unto our neighbors: and our enemies hold derision among themselves.
7 Jumala Zebaot, käännä meitä, ja anna kasvos paistaa, niin me autetuksi tulemme.
O God of hosts, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
8 Sinä toit viinapuun Egyptistä, olet pakanat karkoittanut ulos, ja sen istuttanut.
A vine didst thou remove out of Egypt: thou drovest out nations, and plantedst it.
9 Sinä perkasit tien hänen eteensä, ja annoit hänen hyvästi juurtua, niin että se täytti maan.
Thou didst clear out a place before it, and it struck its root deeply, and it filled the land.
10 Vuoret ovat sen varjolla peitetyt, ja hänen oksillansa Jumalan sedripuut.
Mountains were covered with its shadow, and with its boughs the cedars of God.
11 Sinä levitit hänen oksansa hamaan mereen asti, ja hänen haaransa hamaan virran tykö.
It sent out its tendrils as far as the sea, and unto the river its suckers.
12 Miksis siis särjit hänen aitansa, että sitä kaikki ohitsekäyvät repivät.
Wherefore hast thou now broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way pluck the fruit from it?
13 Metsäsika on sen kaivanut ylös, ja metsän pedot sen syövät.
The boar out of the forest doth gnaw at it, and what moveth on the field feedeth on it.
14 Jumala Zebaot, käännä siis sinuas, katso alas taivaasta ja näe, ja etsi sitä viinapuuta,
O God of hosts, return; I pray thee, look down from heaven, and behold, and think of this vine;
15 Ja pidä se kiintiänä, jonka sinun oikia kätes on istuttanut, (ihmisen) pojan tähden, jonka sinulles lujasti valinnut olet.
And of the sprout which thy right hand hath planted, and of the branch that thou hast made strong for thyself.
16 Se on poltettu tulella ja revitty: sinun uhkauksestas he ovat hukkuneet.
It is burnt with fire, it is hewn down; because of the rebuke of thy countenance do they perish.
17 Sinun kätes varjelkoon oikian kätes kansan, ja ihmisen pojan, jonka sinulles lujasti valinnut olet.
Let thy hand be over the man of thy right hand, over the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.
18 Niin emme sinusta luovu: suo meidän elää, niin me sinun nimeäs avuksi huudamme.
Then will we not swerve from thee: revive us again, and we will call on thy name.
19 Herra Jumala Zebaot, käännä meitä: anna kasvos paistaa, niin me autetuksi tulemme.
O Lord God of hosts, cause us to return: let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
