Psalmien 76
1 Asaphin Psalmi ja veisu, kanteleilla, edelläveisaajalle. Jumala on tuttu Juudassa, Israelissa on hänen suuri nimensä.
To the Chief Musician. With Stringed Instruments. A Melody of Asaph, a Song. God is, known in Judah, In Israel, great is his Name;
2 Salemissa on hänen majansa, ja Zionissa hänen asumisensa.
Now hath come into Salem, his pavilion, And his dwelling-place into Zion.
3 Siellä hän särkee joutsen nuolet, kilvet, miekan ja sodan, (Sela)
There, hath he broken in pieces the arrows of the bow, shield and sword, and battle. (Selah)
4 Sinä olet kirkkaampi ja väkevämpi kuin ryöstövuoret.
Enveloped in light, thou, art more majestic than the mountains of prey.
5 Urhoolliset pitää ryöstettämän ja uneensa nukkuman; ja kaikki sotamiehet täytyy käsistänsä hermottomaksi tulla.
The valiant of heart have become a spoil, They have slumbered their sleep, And none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 Sinun rangaistuksestas, Jakobin Jumala, vajoo uneen orhi ja ratas,
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Stunned are the horsemen.
7 Sinä olet peljättävä: kuka voi seisoa sinun edessäs, koskas vihastut?
As for thee, to be feared thou art! Who then shall stand before thee, because of the power of thine anger?
8 Koskas tuomion annat kuulua taivaasta, niin maa vapisee ja vaikenee;
Out of the heavens, didst thou cause judgment to be heard, Earth, feared and was still:
9 Koska Jumala nousee tuomitsemaan, että hän auttais kaikkia raadollisia maan päällä, (Sela)
When God rose up to judgment, To save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)
10 Kuin ihmiset kiukuitsevat sinua vastaan, niin sinä voitat kunnian, ja kuin he vielä enemmin kiukuitsevat, niin sinä olet valmis.
For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto thee.
11 Luvatkaat ja antakaat Herralle teidän Jumalallenne kaikki, jotka hänen ympärillänsä olette, viekäät lahjoja peljättävälle,
Vow and pay, unto Yahweh your God, —Let, all who are round about him, bear along a gift unto him who is to be revered.
12 Joka päämiehiltä ottaa pois rohkeuden, ja on peljättävä maan kuninkaille.
He cutteth off the spirit of nobles, he is of reverend majesty to the kings of the earth.
