Psalmien 7
1 Davidin viattomuus, josta hän Herralle veisasi, Kuusin Jeminin pojan sanan tähden: Sinuun, Herra minun Jumalani, minä uskallan: auta minua kaikista minun vainollisistani, ja pelasta minua;
The psalm of David which he sung to the Lord for the words of Chusi the son of Jemini. O Lord my God, in thee have I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.
2 Ettei he repisi minun sieluani niinkuin jalopeura, ja sätkisi ilman holhojaa.
Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save.
3 Herra minun Jumalani, jos minä sen tein ja jos vääryys on minun käsissäni;
O Lord my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands:
4 Jos minä pahalla kostanut olen niille, jotka minun kanssani rauhassa elivät; vaan minä olen niitä pelastanut, jotka ilman syytä minua vihasivat;
If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies.
5 Niin vainotkaan viholliseni minun sieluani ja käsittäköön sen, ja poljeskelkaan maahan elämäni, ja painakaan kunniani tomuun, (Sela)
Let the enemy pursue my soul, and take it, and tread down my life on the earth, and bring down my glory to the dust.
6 Nouse Herra vihassas, korota sinuas ylitse vihollisteni hirmuisuuden, heräjä minun puoleeni; sillä sinä olet käskenyt oikeuden,
Rise up, O Lord, in thy anger: and be thou exalted in the borders of my enemies. And arise, O Lord my God, in the precept which thou hast commanded:
7 Että kansat kokoontuisivat jälleen sinun tykös; ja tule heidän tähtensä taas ylös,
And a congregation of people shall surround thee. And for their sakes return thou on high.
8 Herra on kansain tuomari: tuomitse Herra minua vanhurskauteni ja vakuuteni jälkeen.
The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.
9 Loppukoon jumalattomain pahuus, ja holho vanhurskaita; sillä sinä, vanhurskas Jumala, tutkit sydämet ja munaskuut.
The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought: and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God.
10 Minun kilpeni on Jumalan tykönä, joka vaat sydämet auttaa.
Just is my help from the Lord: who saveth the upright of heart.
11 Jumala on oikia tuomari; ja Jumala, joka joka päivä uhkaa.
God is a just judge, strong and patient: is he angry every day?
12 Ellei he palaja, niin hän on miekkansa teroittanut, joutsensa jännittänyt, ja tarkoittaa,
Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword: he hath bent his bow and made it ready.
13 Ja on pannut sen päälle surmannuolet; hän on valmistanut vasamansa kadottamaan.
And in it he hath prepared the instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn.
14 Katso, hänellä on pahaa mielessä: hän on onnettomuutta raskas, mutta hän synnyttää puuttumisen.
Behold he hath been in labour with injustice; he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity.
15 Hän kaivoi haudan ja valmisti, ja on kaatunut siihen kuoppaan, jonka hän oli tehnyt.
He hath opened a pit and dug it; and he is fallen into the hole he made.
16 Hänen onnettomuutensa pitää hänen päänsä päälle tuleman, ja hänen vääryytensä pitää hänen päänsä laelle lankeeman.
His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall comedown upon his crown.
17 Minä kiitän Herraa hänen vanhurskautensa tähden, ja kunnioitan ylimmäisen Herran nimeä.
I will give glory to the Lord according to his justice: and will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.
