Psalmien 51
1 Davidin Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle, Kuin propheta Natan tuli hänen tykönsä, sittekuin hän Batseban tykönä käynyt oli. Jumala, ole minulle armollinen sinun hyvyytes tähden: pyyhi pois minun syntini suuren laupiutes tähden.
For the chief musician. A psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had slept with Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, God, because of your covenant faithfulness; for the sake of the multitude of your merciful actions, blot out my transgressions.
2 Pese minua hyvin vääryydestäni, ja puhdista minua synnistäni.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3 Sillä minä tunnen pahat tekoni, ja minun syntini on aina edessäni.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
4 Sinua, sinua ainoaa vastaan minä syntiä tein, ja pahasti tein sinun edessäs, ettäs olisit oikia sanoissas ja puhdas tuomitessas.
Against you, you only, I have sinned and done what is evil in your sight; you are right when you speak; you are correct when you judge.
5 Katso, minä olen synnissä syntynyt, ja minun äitini on synnissä minun siittänyt.
See, I was born in iniquity; as soon as my mother conceived me, I was in sin.
6 Katso, sinä halajat totuutta, joka salaudessa on, ja ilmoitat salatun viisauden minulle.
See, you desire trustworthiness in my inner self; and you teach me wisdom in the secret place within.
7 Puhdista minua isopilla, että minä puhdistuisin: pese minua, että minä lumivalkiaksi tulisin.
Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Anna minun kuulla iloa ja riemua, että ne luut ihastuisivat, jotka särkenyt olet.
Make me hear joy and gladness so that the bones that you have broken may rejoice.
9 Peitä kasvos minun synneistäni, ja pyyhi pois kaikki pahat tekoni.
Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Jumala, luo minuun puhdas sydän, ja anna minulle uusi vahva henki.
Create in me a clean heart, God, and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Älä heitä minua pois kasvois edestä, ja älä minulta ota pois sinun Pyhää Henkeäs.
Do not drive me away from your presence, and do not take your holy Spirit from me.
12 Anna minulle taas sinun autuutes ilo, ja sillä hyvällä hengelläs tue minua.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit.
13 Minä tahdon väärille opettaa sinun ties, että syntiset tykös palajaisivat.
Then will I teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will be converted to you.
14 Päästä minua veren vioista, Jumala, minun autuuteni Jumala, että minun kieleni ylistäis sinun vanhurskauttas.
Forgive me for shedding blood, God of my salvation, and I will shout for the joy of your righteousness.
15 Avaa, Herra, minun huuleni, että minun suuni ilmoittais sinun kiitokses.
Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will express your praise.
16 Sillä ei sinulle kelpaa uhri, että minä sen antaisin; ja ei polttouhri sinulle ensinkään kelpaa.
For you do not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you have no pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 Ne uhrit, jotka Jumalalle kelpaavat, ovat murheellinen henki: ahdistettua ja särjettyä sydäntä et sinä, Jumala, hylkää.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. You, God, will not despise a broken and a contrite heart.
18 Tee Zionille hyvästi sinun armos jälkeen; rakenna Jerusalemin muurit.
Do good in your good pleasure to Zion; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Silloin sinulle kelpaavat vanhurskauden uhrit, polttouhrit ja muut uhrit: silloin sinun alttarillas härkiä uhrataan.
Then will you delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then our people will offer bulls on your altar.
