Psalmien 29

1 Davidin Psalmi. Tuokaat Herralle, te väkevät, tuokaat Herralle kunnia ja väkevyys.

A Melody of David. Give to Yahweh, ye sons of the mighty, —Give to Yahweh, [both] glory and strength:

2 Tuokaat Herralle hänen nimensä kunnia: kumartakaat Herraa pyhässä kaunistuksessa.

Give to Yahweh, the glory of his Name, Bow down to Yahweh, in the adornment of holiness.

3 Herran ääni käy vetten päällä: kunnian Jumala pauhaa, suurten vetten päällä.

The voice of Yahweh, is upon the waters, —The GOD of glory, hath thundered, Yahweh, is upon mighty waters;

4 Herran ääni käy voimassa: Herran ääni käy suuressa kunniassa.

The voice of Yahweh, is with power, The voice of Yahweh, is with majesty;

5 Herran ääni särkee sedripuut, ja Herra särkee sedripuut Libanonissa.

The voice of Yahweh, is breaking cedars, Now hath Yahweh, broken down, the cedars of Lebanon!

6 Hän hyppäyttää heitä niinkuin vasikan, sekä Libanonin että Sirionin, niinkuin nuoren yksisarvisen.

And hath made them leap like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion, like the bull-calf of wild-oxen;

7 Herran ääni leikkaa niinkuin tulen liekki.

The voice of Yahweh, is cleaving out flames of fire;

8 Herran ääni häälyttää korven, ja Herra liikuttaa Kadeksen korven.

The voice of Yahweh, bringeth birth-pains upon the wilderness; Yahweh bringeth birth-pains upon the wilderness of Kadesh!

9 Herran ääni saattaa peurat poikimaan, ja paljastaa metsät: ja hänen templissänsä pitää koko hänen joukkonsa sanoman hänelle kunnian.

The voice of Yahweh, causeth the gazelles to bring forth, and hath stript forests; and, in his own temple, every one there, is saying, Glory!

10 Herra istuu vedenpaisumisen päällä: Herra pysyy Kuninkaana ijankaikkisesti.

Yahweh, at the Flood, was seated, And Yahweh hath taken his seat, as king, unto times age-abiding.

11 Herra antaa kansallensa väkevyyden: Herra siunaa kansaansa rauhalla.

Yahweh, will give, strength to his people, —Yahweh, will bless his people with prosperity.
