Psalmien 24

1 Davidin Psalmi. Herran on maa, ja kaikki mitkä siinä ovat, maan piiri ja ne jotka sen päällä asuvat.

David’s. A Melody. To Yahweh, belongeth, The earth and the fulness thereof, The world, and they who dwell therein;

2 Sillä hän on perustanut sen merten päälle, ja virtain päälle sen vahvistanut.

For, he, upon the seas, hath founded it, and upon the currents, doth make it firm.

3 Kuka astuu Herran vuorelle? ja kuka taitaa seisoa hänen pyhässä siassansa?

Who shall ascend the mountain of Yahweh? And who shall stand in his holy place?

4 Jolla viattomat kädet ovat ja on puhdas sydämestä, joka ei halaja turhuutta eikä vanno väärin,

The clean of hands, and pure of heart, —who hath not uplifted, to falsehood, his soul, nor sworn deceitfully,

5 Se saa siunauksen Herralta, ja vanhurskauden autuutensa Jumalalta.

Shall bear away a blessing from Yahweh, and righteousness, from his delivering God.

6 Tämä on se sukukunta, joka häntä etsii, joka kysyy sinun kasvojas, Jakob, (Sela)

This, is the generation of them who inquire of him, who seek thy face, O God of Jacob. (Selah)

7 Tehkäät portit avaraksi ja ovet maailmassa korkiaksi, kunnian Kuninkaan mennä sisälle.

Lift up, O ye gates, your heads, and lift yourselves up, ye age-abiding doors, That the king of glory may come in.

8 Kuka on kunnian Kuningas? se on Herra, väkevä ja voimallinen, Herra voimallinen sodassa.

Who is the king of glory? Yahweh, strong and mighty, Yahweh, mighty in war.

9 Tehkäät portit avaraksi ja ovet maailmassa korkiaksi, kunnian Kuninkaan mennä sisälle!

Lift up, O ye gates, your heads, yea lift [them] up, ye age-abiding doors, That the king of glory may come in.

10 Kuka on kunnian Kuningas? se on Herra Zebaot, hän on kunnian Kuningas, (Sela)

Who then is the king of glory? Yahweh of hosts, He, is the king of glory. (Selah)
