Psalmien 125

1 Veisu korkeimmassa Kuorissa. Jotka Herran päälle uskaltavat, ei he lankee, vaan pysyvät ijankaikkisesti niinkuin Zionin vuori.

Those who trust in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

2 Jerusalemin ympäri ovat vuoret, ja Herra on kansansa ympärillä, hamasta nyt ja ijankaikkiseen.

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so Jehovah is round about his people from this time forth and for evermore.

3 Sillä jumalattomain valtikka ei pidä pysymän vanhurskasten joukon päällä, ettei vanhurskaat ojentaisi käsiänsä vääryyteen.

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous, that the righteous not put forth their hands to iniquity.

4 Herra, tee hyvästi hyville ja hurskaille sydämille.

Do good, O Jehovah, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts.

5 Mutta jotka poikkeevat vääriin teihinsä, niitä Herra ajaa pois pahantekiäin kanssa; mutta rauha olkoon Israelille!

But as for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
