Psalmien 123

1 Veisu korkeimmassa Kuorissa. Minä nostan silmäni sinun tykös, joka asut taivaissa.

Yahweh, I look up toward you, up to heaven, from where you rule.

2 Katso, niinkuin palveliain silmät katsovat isäntänsä käsiin, niinkuin piikain silmät katsovat emäntäinsä käsiin, niin meidänkin silmämme katsovat Herraa meidän Jumalaamme, siihenasti että hän meitä armahtaa.

Like servants ask [IDM] their masters [for what they need] and like maids ask t their mistresses [for what they need], we ask you, Yahweh our God, [for what we need], and we ask you to be merciful to us.

3 Ole meille armollinen, Herra, ole meille armollinen! sillä me olemme sangen täytetyt ylönkatseesta;

Yahweh, be very merciful [DOU] to us because [our enemies] have acted very contemptuously toward us.

4 Sangen täynnä on meidän sielumme rikasten pilkkaa ja ylpeiden ylönkatsetta.

Rich people have made fun of us for a long time, and proud [people] who have (oppressed/acted cruelly toward) us have acted toward us as though we were worthless.
