1 Sitä minä rakastan, että Herra kuulee minun rukoukseni äänen;
I love Yahweh—because he heareth my voice, my supplications;
2 Että hän korvansa kallistaa minun puoleeni; sentähden minä avukseni huudan häntä elinaikanani.
Because he hath bowed down his ear unto me, therefore, throughout my days, will I call.
3 Kuoleman paulat ovat minun piirittäneet, ja helvetin ahdistukset ovat minun löytäneet: minä tulin vaivaan ja tuskaan. (Sheol h7585)
The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found; (Sheol h7585)
4 Mutta minä avukseni huudan Herran nimeä: o Herra, pelasta minun sieluni!
But, on the Name of Yahweh, I called—I beseech thee, Yahweh, deliver my soul.
5 Herra on armollinen ja vanhurskas, ja meidän Jumalamme on laupias.
Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and, our God, is full of compassion.
6 Herra kätkee yksinkertaiset: kuin minä olin kovin vaivattu, niin hän minua autti.
Yahweh, preserveth the simple, I was brought low, when, to me, he granted salvation.
7 Palaja taas, minun sieluni, sinun lepoos; sillä Herra tekee hyvästi sinulle.
Return, O my soul, to thy rest, For, Yahweh, hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Sillä sinä olet sieluni temmannut pois kuolemasta, silmäni kyynelistä, jalkani kompastuksesta.
For thou hast rescued my soul from death, —mine eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 Minä vaellan Herran edessä eläväin maassa.
I will walk to and fro before Yahweh, in the lands of life.
10 Minä uskon, sentähden minä puhun; mutta minä sangen vaivataan.
I believed that I should speak, I, was greatly depressed.
11 Minä sanoin hämmästyksessä: kaikki ihmiset ovat valehteliat.
I, said in mine alarm, All men, are false!
12 Kuinka minä maksan Herralle kaikki hänen hyvät tekonsa, jotka hän minulle teki?
How shall I give back to Yahweh, All his benefits unto me?
13 Minä otan sen autuaallisen kalkin, ja saarnaan Herran nimeä.
The cup of salvation, will I lift, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
14 Minä maksan lupaukseni Herralle kaiken hänen kansansa edessä.
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in presence of all his people!
15 Hänen pyhäinsä kuolema on kallis Herran edessä.
Costly in the eyes of Yahweh, is, death, for his men of lovingkindness.
16 O Herra! minä olen sinun palvelias, minä olen sinun palvelias, sinun piikas poika: sinä olet minun siteeni vallallensa päästänyt.
I beseech thee, O Yahweh—for, I, am thy servant, —I, am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid, Thou hast loosened my bonds.
17 Minä uhraan sinulle kiitosuhria, ja Herran nimeä saarnaan.
To thee, will I sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
18 Minä maksan Herralle lupaukseni kaiken hänen kansansa edessä,
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in the presence of all his people; —
19 Herran huoneen esikartanoissa, keskellä sinua, Jerusalem. Halleluja!
In the courts of the house of Yahweh, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Yah!
