Psalmien 115
1 Ei meille, Herra, ei meille, vaan sinun nimelles anna kunnia, sinun armos ja totuutes tähden.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, because of your mercy and your truth;
2 Miksi pakanat sanovat: kussa on nyt heidän Jumalansa?
lest at any time the nations should say, Where is their God?
3 Mutta meidän Jumalamme on taivaissa: mitä ikänä hän tahtoo, sen hän tekee.
But our God has done in heaven and on earth, whatever he has pleased.
4 Vaan heidän epäjumalansa ovat hopia ja kulta, ihmisten käsillä tehdyt.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.
5 Heillä on suu, ja ei puhu: heillä ovat silmät, ja ei näe.
They have a mouth, but they can’t speak; they have eyes, but they can’t see:
6 Heillä ovat korvat, ja ei kuule: heillä ovat sieraimet, ja ei haista.
they have ears, but they can’t hear; they have noses, but they can’t smell;
7 Heillä ovat kädet, ja ei rupee: heillä ovat jalat, ja ei käy; ja ei puhu kurkustansa.
they have hands, but they can’t handle; they have feet, but they can’t walk: they can’t speak through their throat.
8 Jotka niitä tekevät, ovat niiden kaltaiset, ja kaikki, jotka heihin uskaltavat.
Let those that make them become like to them, and all who trust in them.
9 Mutta Israel toivokaan Herran päälle: hän on heidän apunsa ja heidän kilpensä.
The house of Israel trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
10 Aaronin huone toivokaan Herran päälle: hän on heidän apunsa ja heidän kilpensä.
The house of Aaron trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
11 Jotka Herraa pelkäävät, toivokaan myös Herran päälle: hän on heidän apunsa ja heidän kilpensä.
They that fear the Lord trust in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
12 Herra muistaa meitä ja siunaa meitä: hän siunaa Israelin huoneen, hän siunaa Aaronin huoneen.
The Lord has remembered us, and blessed us: he has blessed the house of Israel, he has blessed the house of Aaron.
13 Hän siunaa ne, jotka Herraa pelkäävät, sekä pienet että suuret.
He has blessed them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
14 Herra siunatkoon teitä enemmin ja enemmin, teitä ja teidän lapsianne.
The Lord add [blessings] to you and to your children.
15 Te olette Herran siunatut, joka taivaat ja maan on tehnyt.
Blessed are you of the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth.
16 Taivasten taivaat ovat Herran; mutta maan on hän ihmisten lapsille antanut.
The heaven of heavens [belongs] to the Lord: but he has given the earth to the sons of men.
17 Kuolleet ei taida Herraa kiittää, eikä ne, jotka menevät alas hiljaisuuteen.
The dead shall not praise you, O Lord, nor any that go down to Hades.
18 Mutta me kiitämme Herraa, hamasta nyt ja ijankaikkiseen, Halleluja!
But we, the living, will bless the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
