1 Halleluja! Kiittäkäät te, Herran palveliat, kiittäkäät Herran nimeä!

Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye seruants of the Lord, prayse the Name of the Lord.

2 Kiitetty olkoon Herran nimi, nyt ja ijankaikkisesti!

Blessed be the Name of the Lord from hencefoorth and for euer.

3 Auringon koitosta hänen laskemiseensa asti olkoon Herran nimi kiitetty!

The Lordes Name is praysed from the rising of ye sunne, vnto ye going downe of the same.

4 Herra on korkia ylitse kaikkein pakanain, ja hänen kunniansa ylitse taivasten.

The Lord is high aboue all nations, and his glorie aboue the heauens.

5 Kuka on niinkuin Herra meidän Jumalamme, joka niin korkialla asuu?

Who is like vnto the Lord our God, that hath his dwelling on high!

6 Ja kuitenkin katsoo alimmaisia taivaassa ja maassa;

Who abaseth himselfe to beholde things in the heauen and in the earth!

7 Joka köyhän tomusta ylentää, ja vaivaisen loasta korottaa,

He raiseth the needie out of the dust, and lifteth vp the poore out of the dung,

8 Istuttaaksensa häntä päämiesten sivuun, kansansa päämiesten sivuun;

That he may set him with the princes, euen with the princes of his people.

9 Joka hedelmättömät saattaa huoneesen asumaan, että hän riemuiseksi lasten äidiksi tulee. Halleluja!

He maketh the barren woman to dwell with a familie, and a ioyfull mother of children. Prayse ye the Lord.
