Psalmien 111

1 Halleluja! Minä kiitän Herraa kaikesta sydämestäni, hurskasten neuvossa ja seurakunnassa.

Praise ye Yah! I will give thanks unto Yahweh, with a whole heart, in the circle of the upright and the assembly.

2 Suuret ovat Herran työt: joka niistä ottaa vaarin, hänellä on sula riemu niistä.

Great are the works of Yahweh, sought out, by all who find pleasure therein.

3 Mitä hän asettaa, se on kunniallinen ja jalo, ja hänen vanhurskautensa pysyy ijankaikkisesti.

Honourable and majestic, is his doing, and, his righteousness, standeth for aye.

4 Hän on säätänyt ihmeittensä muiston: armollinen ja laupias on Herra.

A memorial, hath he made by his wonders, Gracious and compassionate, is Yahweh.

5 Hän antaa ruan pelkääväisillensä: hän muistaa liittonsa ijankaikkisesti.

Food, hath he given to them who revere him, He will remember, age-abidingly, his covenant.

6 Hän ilmoittaa kansallensa väkevät työnsä, antaaksensa heille pakanain perimisen.

The might of his works, hath he declared to his people, that he may give them the inheritance of the nations.

7 Hänen kättensä työt ovat totuus ja oikeus: kaikki hänen käskynsä ovat toimelliset.

The works of his hands, are faithful and just, Firm are all his precepts;

8 Ne pysyvät vahvana aina ja ijankaikkisesti: ne ovat tehdyt totuudessa ja oikeudessa.

Upheld to futurity, to times age-abiding, done in faithfulness and equity.

9 Hän lähetti kansallensa lunastuksen, hän lupaa liittonsa pysymään ijankaikkisesti: pyhä ja peljättävä on hänen nimensä.

Ransom, hath he sent to his people, He hath commanded, to times age-abiding, his covenant, Holy and reverend, is his Name.

10 Herran pelko on viisauden alku: se on hyvä ymmärrys kaikille, jotka sen tekevät: hänen kiitoksensa pysyy ijankaikkisesti.

The beginning of wisdom, is the reverence of Yahweh, Good discretion, have all that do them, His praise, endureth for aye.
