Psalmien 109
1 Davidin Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle. Jumala, minun kiitokseni, älä vaikene.
For the Leader. A Psalm of David. O God of my praise, keep not silence;
2 Sillä he ovat jumalattoman ja pettäväisen suunsa avanneet minua vastaan: he puhuvat minun kanssani viekkaalla kielellä,
For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me; they have spoken unto me with a lying tongue.
3 Ja myrkyllisillä sanoilla ovat he minun piirittäneet, ja sotivat minua vastaan ilman syytä.
They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
4 Että minä heitä rakastan, ovat he minua vastaan; mutta minä rukoilen.
In return for my love they are my adversaries; but I am all prayer.
5 He osoittavat minulle pahaa hyvän edestä ja vihaa rakkauden edestä.
And they have laid upon me evil for good, and hatred for my love:
6 Aseta jumalattomat hänen päällensä, ja perkele seisokaan hänen oikialla kädellänsä.
'Set Thou a wicked man over him; and let an adversary stand at his right hand.
7 Koska hän tuomitaan, niin lähtekään siitä ulos jumalattomana, ja hänen rukouksensa olkoon synti.
When he is judged, let him go forth condemned; and let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Olkoon hänen päivänsä harvat, ja hänen virkansa ottakoon toinen.
Let his days be few; let another take his charge.
9 Hänen lapsensa olkoon orvot, ja hänen emäntänsä leski.
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Käykään hänen lapsensa kulkiana, ja kerjätkään, ja etsikään elatuksensa köyhyydessänsä.
Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; and let them seek their bread out of their desolate places.
11 Kaikki mitä hänellä on, korkorahainen ottakoon, ja muukalaiset repikään hänen hyvyytensä.
Let the creditor distrain all that he hath; and let strangers make spoil of his labour.
12 Älköön kenkään hänelle hyvää tehkö, eikä yksikään armahtako hänen orpojansa.
Let there be none to extend kindness unto him; neither let there be any to be gracious unto his fatherless children.
13 Hänen sukunsa olkoon hävitetty: heidän nimensä olkoon toisessa polvessa pyyhitty pois.
Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Hänen isäinsä pahat teot tulkaan muistoksi Herran edessä, ja hänen äitinsä synti ei pidä pyyhittämän pois.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be brought to remembrance unto the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Olkoon ne alati Herran kasvoin edessä, ja hukkukoon heidän muistonsa maan päältä,
Let them be before the LORD continually, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16 Ettei hänellä ensinkään laupiutta ollut, vaan vainosi raadollista ja köyhää, ja murheellista tappaaksensa.
Because that he remembered not to do kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and the broken in heart he was ready to slay.
17 Ja hän tahtoi kirousta, sen myös pitää hänelle tuleman: ei hän tahtonut siunausta, sen pitää myös hänestä kauvas erkaneman.
Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; and he delighted not in blessing, and it is far from him.
18 Ja hän puki kirouksen päällensä niinkuin paitansa ja se meni hänen sisällyksiinsä niinkuin vesi, ja hänen luihinsa niinkuin öljy.
He clothed himself also with cursing as with his raiment, and it is come into his inward parts like water, and like oil into his bones.
19 Se olkoon hänelle niinkuin vaate, jolla hän itsensä verhottaa, ja niinkuin vyö, jolla hän aina itsensä vyöttää.
Let it be unto him as the garment which he putteth on, and for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.'
20 Aivan näin tapahtukoon heille Herralta, jotka ovat minua vastaan, ja puhuvat pahoin minun sieluani vastaan.
This would mine adversaries effect from the LORD, and they that speak evil against my soul.
21 Mutta sinä, Herra, Herra, tee minun kanssani sinun nimes tähden; sillä sinun armos on hyvä, pelasta minua.
But Thou, O GOD the Lord, deal with me for Thy name's sake; because Thy mercy is good, deliver Thou me.
22 Sillä minä olen köyhä ja raadollinen: minun sydämeni on särjetty minussa.
For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 Minä menen pois niinkuin varjo, koska se kulkee pois, ja pudistetaan ulos niinkuin kaskaat.
I am gone like the shadow when it lengtheneth; I am shaken off as the locust.
24 Minun polveni ovat heikoksi tulleet paastosta, ja minun lihani on laihtunut lihavuudesta.
My knees totter through fasting; and my flesh is lean, and hath no fatness.
25 Ja minun täytyy olla heidän pilkkansa: koska he minun näkevät, niin he päätänsä pudistavat.
I am become also a taunt unto them; when they see me, they shake their head.
26 Auta minua, Herra minun Jumalani: auta minua sinun armos perästä,
Help me, O LORD my God; O save me according to Thy mercy;
27 Että he tuntisivat sen sinun kädekses, ja että sinä Herra sen teet.
That they may know that this is Thy hand; that Thou, LORD, hast done it.
28 Koska he sadattavat, niin siunaa sinä: koska he karkaavat minua vastaan, niin tulkoon he häpiään, mutta sinun palvelias iloitkaan.
Let them curse, but bless Thou; when they arise, they shall be put to shame, but Thy servant shall rejoice.
29 Olkoon minun vainolliseni häväistyksellä puetut, ja olkoon häpiällänsä verhotetut niinkuin hameella.
Mine adversaries shall be clothed with confusion, and shall put on their own shame as a robe.
30 Minä kiitän suuresti Herraa suullani, ja ylistän häntä monen seassa.
I will give great thanks unto the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise Him among the multitude;
31 Sillä hän seisoo köyhän oikialla kädellä, auttamassa häntä niistä, jotka hänen sieluansa tuomitsevat.
Because He standeth at the right hand of the needy, to save him from them that judge his soul.
