Sananlaskujen 9
1 Viisaus rakensi huoneensa, ja vuoli siihen seitsemän patsasta,
Wisdom she has built house her she has hewn pillars her seven.
2 Ja teurasti teuraansa, sekoitti viinansa ja valmisti pöytänsä,
She has slaughtered slaughtering her she has mixed wine her also she has arranged table her.
3 Ja lähetti piikansa, korkeista kaupungin saleista kutsumaan:
She has sent out female servants her she calls out on [the] elevations of [the] heights of [the] town.
4 Joka tyhmä on, hän tulkaan tänne; ja hulluille sanoi hän:
Who? [is] naive let him turn aside here [one] lacking of heart she says to him.
5 Tulkaat ja syökäät minun leivästäni, ja juokaat viinaa, jonka minä sekoitin.
Come eat in food my and drink in [the] wine [which] I have mixed.
6 Hyljätkää hullu meno, niin te saatte elää, ja käykää ymmärryksen tiellä.
Abandon foolish things and live and advance in [the] way of understanding.
7 Joka pilkkaajaa kurittaa, hän saa häpiän, ja joka jumalatointa nuhtelee, hän häväistään.
[one who] admonishes - A mocker [is] receiving for himself shame and [one who] reproves a wicked [person] defect his.
8 Älä rankaise pilkkaajaa, ettei hän sinua vihaisi: nuhtele viisasta, ja hän rakastaa sinua.
May not you reprove a mocker lest he should hate you reprove a wise [person] and he will love you.
9 Anna viisaalle, niin hän viisaammaksi tulee: opeta vanhurskasta, niin hän opissaan etenee.
Give to a wise [person] so he may be wise yet make known to a righteous [person] so may he increase insight.
10 Viisauden alku on Herran pelko, ja pyhäin tieto on ymmärrys.
[is the] beginning of Wisdom [the] fear of Yahweh and [the] knowledge of [the] holy [one] [is] understanding.
11 Sillä minun kauttani sinun päiväs enennetään, ja ikäs vuodet lisätään.
For by me they will increase days your so they may add to you years of life.
12 Jos sinä olet viisas, niin sinä itselles viisas olet; mutta jos sinä olet pilkkaaja, niin sinä itse sen kannat.
If you are wise you are wise for yourself and you mock to alone you you will bear [it].
13 Hullu, huikentelevainen vaimo, mieletöin ei tiedä mitään,
A woman of folly [is] boisterous naivete and not she knows whatever.
14 Istuu huoneensa ovella, korkialla istuimella, ylimmäisessä siassa kaupungissa,
And she sits to [the] doorway of house her on a seat [the] heights of [the] town.
15 Että hän houkuttelis kaikkia, jotka siitä käyvät ohitse, ja tietänsä vaeltavat:
To call out to [those who] pass by of [the] road those [who] make straight paths their.
16 Se joka tyhmä on, hän tulkoon tänne; ja hullulle sanoo hän:
Who? [is] naive let him turn aside here and [one] lacking of heart and she says to him.
17 Varastettu vesi on makia, ja salattu leipä suloinen;
Waters stolen they are sweet and bread of secret places it is delightful.
