4 Mooseksen 13
1 Ja Herra puhui Mosekselle, sanoen:
And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
2 Lähetä miehet edelläs vakoomaan Kanaanin maata, jonka minä Israelin lapsille annan: yksi mies itsekustakin isänsä suvusta pitää lähetettämän, kukin päämies heidän seassansa.
Send for yourself men so they may spy out [the] land of Canaan which I [am] about to give to [the] people of Israel a man one a man one for [the] tribe of ancestors his you will send every [one] a leader among them.
3 Ja Moses lähetti heidät Paranin korvesta Herran sanan jälkeen: kaikki ne olivat Israelin lasten päämiehet.
And he sent them Moses from [the] wilderness of Paran on [the] mouth of Yahweh all of them [were] men [who were] [the] heads of [the] people of Israel they.
4 Ja nämät ovat heidän nimensä: Rubenin sukukunnasta, Sammua Sakkurin poika,
And these [are] names their for [the] tribe of Reuben Shammua [the] son of Zaccur.
5 Simeonin sukukunnasta, Saphat Horin poika,
For [the] tribe of Simeon Shaphat [the] son of Hori.
6 Juudan sukukunnasta, Kaleb Jephunnen poika,
For [the] tribe of Judah Caleb [the] son of Jephunneh.
7 Isaskarin sukukunnasta, Igeal Josephin poika,
For [the] tribe of Issachar Igal [the] son of Joseph.
8 Ephraimin sukukunnasta, Hosea Nunin poika,
For [the] tribe of Ephraim Hoshea [the] son of Nun.
9 BenJaminin sukukunnasta, Palti Raphun poika,
For [the] tribe of Benjamin Palti [the] son of Raphu.
10 Sebulonin sukukunnasta, Gaddiel Sodin poika,
For [the] tribe of Zebulun Gaddiel [the] son of Sodi.
11 Josephin sukukunnasta, Manassesta, Gaddi Susin poika,
For [the] tribe of Joseph for [the] tribe of Manasseh Gaddi [the] son of Susi.
12 Danin sukukunnasta, Ammiel Gemallin poika,
For [the] tribe of Dan Ammiel [the] son of Gemalli.
13 Asserin sukukunnasta, Setur Mikaelin poika,
For [the] tribe of Asher Sethur [the] son of Michael.
14 Naphtalin sukukunnasta, Nakbi Vopsin poika,
For [the] tribe of Naphtali Nahbi [the] son of Vopshi.
15 Gadin sukukunnasta, Guel Makin poika.
For [the] tribe of Gad Geuel [the] son of Maki.
16 Nämät ovat niiden miesten nimet, jotka Moses lähetti vakoomaan maata, ja Hosean Nunin pojan nimitti Moses Josuaksi.
These [are] [the] names of the men whom he sent Moses to spy out the land and he called Moses Hoshea [the] son of Nun Joshua.
17 Koska Moses lähetti heidät vakoomaan Kanaanin maata, sanoi hän heille: menkäät etelän puoleen, ja astukaat vuorelle,
And he sent them Moses to spy out [the] land of Canaan and he said to them go up this in the Negev and you will go up the hill country.
18 Katselkaat maata, millainen se on, ja kansaa, joka siinä asuu, onko se väkevä eli heikko, vähä eli paljo.
And you will see the land what? [is] it and the people which dwells on it ¿ strong [is] it ¿ feeble ¿ few [is] it or? many.
19 Ja millainen maa se on, jossa he asuvat, onko se hyvä eli paha, ja minkäkaltaiset kaupungit ovat, joissa he asuvat, asuvatko he majoissa eli linnoissa,
And what? [is] the land which it [is] dwelling in it ¿ good [is] it or? bad and what? [are] the cities which it [is] dwelling in them ¿ in camps or? in fortresses.
20 Ja millainen maa on, lihava eli laiha, ja onko puita sillä maalla, taikka ei. Olkaat vahvassa turvassa, ja ottakaat maan hedelmää. Ja se oli siihen aikaan jona viinamarjat ensisti kypsyneet olivat.
And what? [is] the land ¿ fat [is] it or? lean ¿ [is] there in it wood or? not and you will show yourselves strong and you will take some of [the] fruit of the land and the days [were the] days of [the] first-fruits of grapes.
21 Ja he menivät ja vakoivat maan Zinin korvesta Rehobiin asti, jonka kautta Hamatiin mennään.
And they went up and they spied out the land from [the] wilderness of Zin to Rehob Lebo Hamath.
22 He menivät myös etelään päin ja tulivat Hebroniin: siellä oli Abkiman, Sesai ja Talmai, Enakin lapset. Ja Hebron oli rakennettu seitsemän ajastaikaa ennen kuin Zoan Egyptissä.
And they went up in the Negev and he came to Hebron and [were] there Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai those born of Anak and Hebron seven years it was built before Zoan Egypt.
23 Ja tulivat hamaan Eskolin ojan tykö, ja leikkasivat sieltä viinapuun oksan viinamarjarypäleen kanssa, ja kaksi kantoi sitä korennolla, niin myös granatin omenia ja fikunia.
And they came to [the] wadi of Eshcol and they cut down from there a branch and a cluster of grapes one and they carried it on the pole two and some of the pomegranates and some of the figs.
24 Ja se paikka kutsuttiin Eskolin virraksi, sen viinamarjarypäleen tähden, jonka Israelin lapset sieltä leikkasivat.
the Place that someone called [the] wadi of Eshcol on [the] causes of the cluster which they cut down from there [the] people of Israel.
25 Ja he palasivat maata vakoomasta neljänkymmenen päivän perästä.
And they returned from spying out the land from [the] end of forty day[s].
26 Ja he kävivät, ja tulivat Moseksen ja Aaronin tykö, ja kaiken Israelin lasten seurakunnan tykö, Paranin korpeen Kadeksessa, ja ilmoittivat heille asian ja koko joukolle, millainen se oli, ja osoittivat heille maan hedelmät.
And they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel to [the] wilderness of Paran Kadesh towards and they brought back them word and all the congregation and they showed them [the] fruit of the land.
27 Ja he juttelivat hänelle, ja sanoivat: me tulimme sille maalle, johonka sinä meitä lähetit, jossa myös rieskaa ja hunajaa vuotaa, ja tämä on hänen hedelmänsä.
And they recounted to him and they said we went into the land which you sent us and also [is] flowing of milk and honey it and this [is] fruit its.
28 Paitsi sitä, että siinä maakunnassa asuu väkevä kansa, ovat siellä juuri vahvat ja suuret kaupungit, ja me näimme siellä myös Enakin pojat.
Nevertheless for [is] strong the people which dwells in the land and the cities [are] fortified large very and also those born of Anak we saw there.
29 Amalekilaiset asuvat etelän puolella maata, Hetiläiset ja Jebusilaiset ja Amorilaiset asuvat vuorilla. Kanaanealaiset asuvat meren tykönä ja Jordanin vierellä.
Amalek [is] dwelling in [the] land of the Negev and the Hittite[s] and the Jebusite[s] and the Amorite[s] [is] dwelling in the hill country and the Canaanite[s] [is] dwelling at the sea and on [the] side of the Jordan.
30 Mutta Kaleb vaikitti kansaa Moseksen edessä, ja sanoi: käykäämme rohkiasti ja omistakaamme maa; sillä kyllä me sen voitamme.
And he silenced Caleb the people to Moses and he said certainly we will go up and we will take possession of it for certainly we will prevail to it.
31 Mutta ne miehet, jotka hänen kanssansa olivat menneet, sanoivat: emme taida mennä sitä kansaa vastaan; sillä he ovat meitä väkevämmät.
And the men who they had gone up with him they said not we are able to go up against the people for [is] strong it more than us.
32 Ja he saattivat maan, jonka he katselleet olivat, pahaan huutoon Israelin lasten seassa, sanoen: maa, jonka lävitse me kävimme vakoomassa sitä, syö asujansa, ja kaikki kansa, jonka me siellä näimme, ovat juuri pitkät ihmiset.
And they brought out bad report of the land which they had spied out it to [the] people of Israel saying the land which we passed in it to spy out it [is] a land [which] devours inhabitants its it and all the people which we saw in [the] midst of it [were] men of stature.
33 Me näimme siellä myös hirmuiset Enakin pojat, jättiläisiä: ja me olimme meidän silmäimme edessä (nähdä) niinkuin heinäsirkat, ja niin olimme myös me heidän silmäinsä edessä.
And there we saw the Nephilim [the] descendants of Anak [were] from the Nephilim and we were in own eyes our like grasshoppers and thus we were in view their.
