4 Mooseksen 10

1 Ja Herra puhui Mosekselle, sanoen:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 Tee sinulles hopiasta kaksi torvea, vahvaksi sinun ne tekemän pitää, niillä kutsuakses seurakuntaa kokoon, ja koska joukon pitää matkustaman.

Make unto thyself two trumpets of silver, beaten out of one piece shalt thou make them; and they shall serve thee for the calling of the congregation, and for the setting forward of the camps.

3 Koska niillä molemmilla hiljaksensa soitetaan, silloin pitää koko seurakunnan kokoontuman seurakunnan majan oven eteen.

And when they shall blow with both, all the congregation shall assemble themselves unto thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 Vaan koska ainoastaan yhdellä hiljaksensa soitetaan, silloin pitää päämiehet ja tuhanten esimiehet Israelissa tuleman kokoon.

And if they blow with but one, then shall assemble themselves unto thee the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel.

5 Mutta koska te vahvasti soitatte, silloin pitää ne leirit lähtemän matkaan, jotka itään päin ovat.

And when ye blow an alarm, then shall set forward the camps that encamp on the east side.

6 Mutta koska te toisen kerran vahvasti soitatte, silloin pitää ne leirit lähtemän matkaan, jotka etelään päin ovat; sillä koska he lähtevät matkaan, niin pitää teidän vahvasti soittaman.

And when ye blow an alarm the second time, then shall set forward the camps that encamp on the south side: an alarm shall they blow for their setting forward.

7 Mutta koska seurakunnan pitää kokoontuman, silloin teidän pitää ainoastansa hiljaksensa, ja ei vahvasti soittaman.

But at the assembling of the assembly, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

8 Ja papit Aaronin pojat pitää näillä torvilla soittaman: ja tämä pitää teille ja teidän sukukunnillenne oleman ijankaikkinen sääty.

And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

9 Ja koska te lähdette sotaan teidän maallanne vihollisianne vastaan, jotka teitä vainoovat, silloin pitää teidän vahvasti torvilla soittaman, että teitä muistettaisiin Herran teidän Jumalanne edessä, ja te pelastettaisiin vihollisistanne.

And if ye go to war in your land against the oppressor that oppresseth you, then shall ye blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Niin myös teidän ilopäivinänne, ja teidän juhlapäivinänne, ja teidän uusissa kuissanne, pitää teidän torvilla soittaman, teidän polttouhrianne ja kiitosuhrianne uhratessanne, että ne olisivat teille muistoksi teidän Jumalanne edessä. Minä Herra teidän Jumalanne.

And on the day of your gladness, and on your appointed festivals, and on the beginnings of your months, shall ye blow with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

11 Ja tapahtui kahdentenakymmenentenä päivänä, toisena kuukautena toisena vuonna, että pilvi nostettiin todistuksen majan tyköä,

And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

12 Ja Israelin lapset läksivät matkaansa järjestyksessä Sinain korvesta, ja pilvi seisahti Paranin korvessa.

And the children of Israel set forward on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud halted in the wilderness of Paran.

13 Ja he läksivät ensimäisen kerran Herran sanan jälkeen Moseksen kautta.

And they set forward for the first time at the order of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

14 Nimittäin Juudan lasten leirin lippu läksi ensin matkaan joukkoinensa, ja heidän joukkonsa päällä oli Nahesson Amminadabin poika.

And the standard of the camp of the children of Judah set forward at the first, according to their armies: and over their host was Nachshon the son of 'Amminadab.

15 Ja Isaskarin lasten suvun joukon päällä oli Netaneel Suarin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.

16 Ja Sebulonin lasten suvun joukon päällä oli Eliab Helonin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Chelon.

17 Silloin maja otettiin maahan: ja Gersonin ja Merarin lapset läksivät matkaan ja kantoivat majaa.

And [in the mean time] the tabernacle was taken down; and then set forward the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, the bearers of the tabernacle.

18 Sitälähin läksi Rubenin leirin lippu joukkoinensa, ja hänen joukkonsa päällä oli Elisur Sedeurin poika.

Then set forward the standard of the camp of Reuben, according to their armies: and over their host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

19 Ja Simeonin lasten suvun joukon päällä oli Selumiel SuriSaddain poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

20 Ja Gadin lasten suvun joukon päällä oli Eliasaph Deguelin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Elyassaph the son of Deuel.

21 Niin matkustivat myös Kahatilaiset ja kantoivat pyhää, ja toiset panivat majan ylös, siihenasti että nämät tulivat.

And then set forward the Kehathites, the bearers of the sanctuary: and the others set up the tabernacle against they came.

22 Sitälikin läksi Ephraimin lasten leirin lippu joukkoinensa, ja hänen joukkonsa päällä oli Elisama Ammihudin poika.

Then set forward the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim according to their armies; and over their host was Elishama the son of 'Ammihud.

23 Ja Manassen lasten sukukunnan joukon päällä oli Gamliel Pedatsurin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Menasseh was Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.

24 Ja BenJaminin lasten sukukunnan joukon päällä oli Abidan Gideonin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gidoni.

25 Sitälikin läksi Danin lasten leirin lippu joukkoinensa. Ja niin kaikki leirit matkassansa olivat. Ja hänen joukkonsa päällä oli AhiEser AmmiSaddain poika.

Then set forward the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, the rereward of all the camps, according to their hosts: and over their host was Achiezer the son of 'Ammishaddai.

26 Ja Asserin lasten sukukunnan joukon päällä oli Pagiel Okranin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of 'Ochran.

27 Ja Naphtalin lasten sukukunnan joukon päällä oli Ahira Enanin poika.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Achira the son of 'Enan.

28 Nämät ovat Israelin lasten vaellukset joukkoinensa, koska he matkustivat.

In this order were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

29 Ja Moses puhui näälämiehellensä Hobabille Reguelin Midianilaisen pojalle: me menemme siihen paikkaan, josta Herra sanonut on: minä annan sen teille. Tule meidän kanssamme, me teemme sinulle hyvää, sillä Herra on hyvää luvannut Israelille.

And Moses said unto Chobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord hath said, This will I give unto you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the Lord hath spoken [to bring] good upon Israel.

30 Hän vastasi häntä: en minä tule teidän kanssanne, vaan minä menen omalle maalleni sukuni tykö.

And he said unto him, I will not go; but to my own land, and to my birthplace will I go.

31 Hän sanoi: älä meistä luovu, sillä sinä tiedät, kussa meidän pitää itsemme sioittaman korvessa, ja sinä olet meidän silmämme.

And he said, Do not, I pray thee, leave us; since thou didst find out the places where we were to encamp in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us instead of eyes.

32 Ja jos sinä tulet meidän kanssamme, niin se hyvä, minkä Herra meille tekee, sen me teemme sinulle.

And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that the same goodness which the Lord may do unto us, will we do unto thee.

33 Niin he matkustivat kolme päiväkuntaa Herran vuoren tyköä, ja Herran liiton arkki vaelsi heidän edellänsä kolme päiväkuntaa, katsomaan heille, kussa heidän lepäämän piti.

And they set forward from the mount of the Lord a three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days' journey, to search out for them a resting-place.

34 Ja Herran pilvi oli heidän päällänsä päivällä, koska he leiristä matkustivat.

And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.

35 Ja koska arkki läksi matkaan, sanoi Moses: Herra nouse, että vihollises hajotettaisiin, ja ne, jotka sinua vainoovat, pakenisivat sinun edestäs.

And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thy enemies be scattered; and let those that hate thee flee before thy face.

36 Koska arkki lepäsi, sanoi hän: Palaja, Herra, niiden monen kymmenen tuhannen tykö Israelissa.

And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, among thy myriads of the thousands of Israel.
