Markuksen 9
1 Ja hän sanoi heille: totisesti sanon minä teille: muutamat näistä, jotka tässä seisovat, ei pidä kuolemaa maistavan siihen asti kuin he näkevät Jumalan valtakunnan voimalla tulevan.
He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see God’s Kingdom come with power.”
2 Ja kuuden päivän perästä, otti Jesus tykönsä Pietarin ja Jakobin ja Johanneksen, ja vei heidät erinänsä korkialle vuorelle yksinänsä: ja hän kirkastettiin heidän edessänsä,
After six days Yeshua [Salvation] took with him Peter [Rock], James [Surplanter], and John [Yah is gracious], and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.
3 Ja hänen vaatteensa tulivat kiiltäväksi ja sangen valkiaksi niinkuin lumi, ettei yksikään vaatteen painaja taida niin valkiaksi painaa maan päällä.
His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
4 Ja heille ilmestyi Elias Moseksen kanssa, jotka puhuivat Jesuksen kanssa.
Elijah [My God Yah] and Moses [Drawn out] appeared to them, and they were talking with Yeshua [Salvation].
5 Ja Pietari vastaten sanoi Jesukselle: Rabbi, hyvä on meidän tässä olla: tehkäämme siis tähän kolme majaa, sinulle yhden, Mosekselle yhden ja Eliaalle yhden.
Peter [Rock] answered Yeshua [Salvation], “Rabbi ·Teacher·, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses [Drawn out], and one for Elijah [My God Yah].”
6 Vaan ei hän tietänyt, mitä hän puhui; sillä he olivat hämmästyneet.
For he didn’t know what to say, for they were very afraid.
7 Ja pilvi tuli, joka ympäri varjosi heidät, ja ääni tuli pilvestä, sanoen: tämä on minun rakas Poikani, kuulkaat häntä.
A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my agapetos ·beloved, esteemed· Son. Listen to him.”
8 Ja kohta kuin he ympäri katsahtivat, ei he enään ketään nähneet, vaan Jesuksen yksin heidän kanssansa.
Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Yeshua [Salvation] only.
9 Mutta kuin he menivät alas vuorelta, kielsi hän heidät kellenkään niitä sanomasta, mitä he näkivät, vaan sitte kuin Ihmisen Poika on kuolleista noussut.
As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10 Ja he pitivät sanan mielessänsä, ja tutkivat keskenänsä, mitä se olis, nousta ylös kuolleista.
They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.
11 Ja he kysyivät häneltä sanoen: mitä kirjanoppineet sanovat, että Eliaan pitää ensin tuleman?
They asked him, saying, “Why do the Torah-Teachers say that Elijah [My God Yah] must come first?”
12 Mutta hän vastaten sanoi heille: Elias tosin tulee ensin ja ojentaa kaikki: ja niinkuin on Ihmisen Pojasta kirjoitettu, että hänen pitää paljon kärsimän ja katsottaman ylön.
He said to them, “Elijah [My God Yah] indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?
13 Mutta minä sanon teille, että Elias on myös tullut, ja he tekivät hänelle, mitä he tahtoivat, niinkuin hänestä kirjoitettu oli.
But I tell you that Elijah [My God Yah] has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”
14 Ja kuin hän tuli opetuslasten tykö, näki hän paljon kansaa heidän ympärillänsä, ja kirjanoppineet kamppailevan heidän kanssansa.
Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and Torah-Teachers questioning them.
15 Ja kohta kuin kaikki kansa näki hänen, hämmästyivät he ja juosten tykö tervehtivät häntä.
Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.
16 Ja hän kysyi kirjanoppineilta: mitä te kamppailette keskenänne?
He asked the Torah-Teachers, “What are you asking them?”
17 Niin yksi kansan seasta vastasi ja sanoi: Mestari, minä toin sinun tykös poikani, jolla on mykkä henki.
One of the multitude answered, “Rabbi ·Teacher·, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;
18 Ja kuin hän rupee hänen kimppuunsa, niin hän repelee häntä, ja hän vaahtuu, ja kiristelee hampaitansa, ja kuivettuu. Ja minä sanoin sinun opetuslapsilles, että he ajaisivat hänen ulos, ja ei he voineet.
and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”
19 Niin hän vastasi ja sanoi: oi sinä uskotoin sukukunta! kuinka kauvan minun pitää oleman teidän kanssanne? kuinka kauvan minä teitä kärsin? Tuokaat häntä minun tyköni.
He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”
20 Ja he toivat sen hänen tykönsä. Ja kuin hän näki hänen, repäisi kohta henki häntä, ja hän lankesi maahan, ja kieritteli itsiänsä ja vaahtui.
They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.
21 Ja hän kysyi hänen isältänsä: kuinka paljon aikaa sitte on kuin tämä on hänelle tullut? Hän sanoi: lapsuudesta;
He asked 'Aviv [his father], “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood.
22 Ja hän heitti hänen usein tuleen ja vesiin, että hän hukuttais hänen. Mutta jos sinä jotakin voit, niin auta meitä ja armahda meidän päällemme.
Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”
23 Niin sanoi Jesus hänelle: jos sinä sen voit uskoa, kaikki ovat uskovaiselle mahdolliset.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “If you can trust, all things are possible to him who trusts.”
24 Ja kohta pojan isä huusi itkien ja sanoi: Herra, minä uskon, auta minun epäuskoani.
Immediately the Abba father of the child cried out with tears, “I trust. Help my unbelief!”
25 Mutta kuin Jesus sen näki, että kansa ynnä juoksi tykö, nuhteli hän sitä saastaista henkeä, sanoen hänelle: sinä mykkä ja kuuro henki! minä käsken sinua, mene ulos hänestä, ja älä tästedes hänen sisällensä mene.
When Yeshua [Salvation] saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”
26 Niin se huusi ja repeli kovin häntä, ja läksi ulos. Ja se tuli niinkuin kuollut, niin että moni sanoi: hän on kuollut.
Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”
27 Mutta Jesus tarttui hänen käteensä ja nosti hänen, ja hän nousi.
But Yeshua [Salvation] took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.
28 Ja kuin hän oli huoneeseen mennyt sisälle, kysyivät hänen opetuslapsensa häneltä erinänsä: miksi emme voineet häntä ajaa ulos?
When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”
29 Ja hän sanoi heille: tämä suku ei taida millään muulla kuin rukouksella ja paastolla mennä ulos.
He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”
30 Ja he läksivät ulos sieltä ja vaelsivat Galilean lävitse, ja ei hän tahtonut sitä kenenkään tietää.
They went out from there, and passed through Galilee [District, Circuit]. He didn’t want anyone to know it.
31 Sillä hän opetti opetuslapsiansa ja sanoi heille: Ihmisen Poika annetaan ylön ihmisten käsiin, ja he tappavat hänen; ja kuin hän on tapettu, niin hän kolmantena päivänä nousee ylös.
For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”
32 Mutta ei he ymmärtäneet sitä mitä hän sanoi, ja pelkäsivät häneltä kysyä.
But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 Ja hän tuli Kapernaumiin, ja kotona ollessa kysyi hän heiltä: mitä te tiellä keskenänne kamppailitte?
He came to Capernaum [Village-Comfort, Village-Compassion], and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”
34 Mutta he vaikenivat; sillä he olivat kamppailleet tiellä keskenänsä, kuka heistä suurin olis.
But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.
35 Ja kuin hän istui, kutsui hän ne kaksitoistakymmentä ja sanoi heille: jos joku tahtoo ensimmäinen olla, sen pitää oleman kaikkein viimeinen ja kaikkein palvelian.
He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”
36 Ja hän otti lapsen ja asetti sen heidän keskellensä. Ja kuin hän otti sen syliinsä, sanoi hän heille:
He took a little child, and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,
37 Kuka ikänä yhden tainkaltaisen lapsen korjaa minun nimeeni, se korjaa minun: ja joka minun korjaa, ei hän minua korjaa, vaan sen, joka minun lähetti.
“Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, does not receive me, but him who sent me.”
38 Mutta Johannes vastasi häntä sanoen: Mestari, me näimme yhden sinun nimelläs perkeleitä ajavan ulos, joka ei seuraa meitä, ja me kielsimme häntä, ettei hän seuraa meitä.
John [Yah is gracious] said to him, “Rabbi ·Teacher·, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he does not follow us.”
39 Niin Jesus sanoi: älkäät häntä kieltäkö; sillä ei ole ketään, joka tekee voimallisen työn minun nimeni kautta, ja taitaa kohta pahasti puhua minusta.
But Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.
40 Sillä joka ei ole meitä vastaan, se on meidän edestämme.
For whoever is not against us is on our side.
41 Sillä kuka ikänä juottaa teitä vesipikarilla minun nimeeni, että te olette Kristuksen, totisesti sanon minä teille: ei hän suinkaan kadota palkkaansa.
For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Messiah [Anointed one]’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.
42 Ja kuka ikänä pahentaa yhden vähimmistä, jotka uskovat minun päälleni, parempi olis hänelle, jos myllyn kivi pantaisiin hänen kaulaansa ja heitettäisiin mereen.
Whoever will cause one of these little ones who trust in me to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.
43 Jos kätes on sinulle pahennukseksi, niin hakkaa se pois: parempi on sinun käsipuolena elämään mennä, kuin jos sinulla olis kaksi kättä ja menisit helvettiin, sammumattomaan tuleen, (Geenna g1067)
If your hand causes you to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead), into the unquenchable fire, (Geenna g1067)
44 Kussa ei heidän matonsa kuole, eikä tuli sammuteta.
‘where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
45 Ja jos jalkas on sinulle pahennukseksi, hakkaa se pois: parempi on sinulle, että ontuvana elämään menet, kuin jos sinulla olis kaksi jalkaa ja heitettäisiin helvettiin, sammumattomaan tuleen, (Geenna g1067)
If your foot causes you to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead), into the fire that will never be quenched— (Geenna g1067)
46 Kussa ei heidän matonsa kuole, eikä tuli sammuteta.
‘where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
47 Ja jos silmäs on sinulle pahennukseksi, niin heitä se pois: parempi on sinun silmäpuolena Jumalan valtakuntaan sisälle mennä, kuin jos sinulla olis kaksi silmää ja heitettäisiin helvetin tuleen, (Geenna g1067)
If your eye causes you to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into God’s Kingdom with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead) of fire, (Geenna g1067)
48 Kussa ei heidän matonsa kuole, eikä tuli sammuteta.
‘where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
49 Sillä kaikki pitää tulella suolattaman, ja jokainen uhri pitää suolalla suolattaman.
For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
50 Suola on hyvä; mutta jos suola tulee mauttomaksi, millä te sen höystätte? Pitäkäät itse teissänne suola, ja rauha teidän keskenänne.
Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
