Markuksen 3
1 Ja hän meni sisälle jälleen synagogaan, ja siellä oli ihminen, jolla oli kuivettunut käsi.
He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there whose hand was withered.
2 Ja he ottivat hänestä vaarin, jos hän hänen sabbatina parantais, kantaaksensa hänen päällensä.
They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.
3 Ja hän sanoi sille ihmiselle, jolla kuivettunut käsi oli: astu edes!
He said to the man whose hand was withered, “Stand up.”
4 Ja hän sanoi heille: sopiiko sabbatina hyvää tehdä eli pahaa tehdä? henkeä vapahtaa taikka tappaa? Mutta he vaikenivat.
He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good or to do harm? To save a life or to kill?” But they were silent.
5 Niin hän katsoi heidän päällensä vihaisesti ja oli murheissansa heidän sydämensä kovuuden tähden, ja sanoi ihmiselle: ojenna kätes! ja hän ojensi, ja käsi tuli terveeksi niinkuin toinenkin.
When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.
6 Ja Pharisealaiset menivät ulos ja pitivät kohta Herodilaisten kanssa neuvoa häntä vastaan, kuinka he hänen hukuttaisivat.
The Pharisees went out, and immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
7 Mutta Jesus poikkesi opetuslastensa kanssa meren tykö, ja paljo kansaa seurasi häntä Galileasta ja Juudeasta,
Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples; and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,
8 Ja Jerusalemista, ja Idumeasta, ja tuolta puolen Jordania, ja jotka Tyron ja Sidonin ympärillä asuivat, suuri joukko: jotka hänen tekonsa kuulivat, ne tulivat hänen tykönsä.
from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.

He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they would not press on him.

For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.

The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him and cried, “You are the Son of God!”

He sternly warned them that they should not make him known.
13 Ja hän astui ylös vuorelle ja kutsui tykönsä, jotka hän itse tahtoi, ja he tulivat hänen tykönsä.
He went up into the mountain and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.
14 Ja hän sääsi ne kaksitoistakymmentä olemaan tykönänsä, että hän heitä lähettäis saarnaamaan;
He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach
15 Ja että heillä piti voima oleman taudit parantaa ja perkeleitä ajaa ulos.
and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:
16 Ja pani Simonille nimen Pietari,
Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter);
17 Ja Jakobille Zebedeuksen pojalle ja Johannekselle Jakobin veljelle: (ja antoi heille nimet Boanerges, se on, pitkäisen pojat),
James the son of Zebedee; and John, the brother of James, (whom he called Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder);

Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot;
19 Ja Juudaan Iskariotilaisen, joka myös hänen petti.
and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Then he came into a house.

The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him; for they said, “He is insane.”
22 Mutta kirjanoppineet, jotka Jerusalemista olivat tulleet alas, sanoivat: hänellä on beelsebub, ja perkeleiden pääruhtinaan kautta hän ajaa ulos perkeleitä.
The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons.”

He summoned them and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 Ja jos valtakunta erkanee itsiänsä vastaan, niin ei se valtakunta taida seisoa.
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 Ja jos huone erkanee itsiänsä vastaan, niin ei se huone taida seisoa.
If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 Ja jos saatana karkaa ja eroittaa itsensä itsiänsä vastaan, niin ei hän taida seisoa, mutta saa lopun.
If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.
27 Ei taida kenkään väkevän huoneeseen mennä ja hänen kaluansa ryöstää, ellei hän ensin sido väkevää kiinni, ja sitte ryöstä hänen huonettansa.
But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder unless he first binds the strong man; then he will plunder his house.
28 Totisesti sanon minä teille: kaikki synnit annetaan anteeksi ihmisten lapsille, pilkatkin, joilla he Jumalaa pilkkaavat,
“Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;
30 Sillä he sanoivat: hänellä on saastainen henki.
—because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
31 Niin tuli hänen veljensä ja äitinsä ja seisoivat ulkona, ja lähettivät hänen tykönsä kutsumaan häntä.
His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.
32 Ja kansa istui hänen ympärillänsä ja sanoivat hänelle: katso, äitis ja veljes kysyvät sinua ulkona.
A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, “Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.”
33 Ja hän vastasi heitä, sanoen: kuka on minun äitini taikka minun veljeni?
He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”
34 Ja kuin hän oli ympäri katsonut niiden päälle, jotka hänen ympärillänsä istuivat, sanoi hän: katso, minun äitini ja minun veljeni.
Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
35 Sillä joka tekee Jumalan tahdon, hän on veljeni sisareni ja äitini.
For whoever does the will of God is my brother, my sister, and mother.”
