3 Mooseksen 20
1 Ja Herra puhui Mosekselle; sanoen:
And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:
2 Sano myös Israelin lapsille: kuka ikänänsä Israelin lapsista, eli muukalaisista, joka Israelin lasten seassa asuu, siemenestänsä Molekille antaa, sen pitää totisesti kuoleman: maan kansan pitää häntä kivittämän kuoliaaksi.
Unto the sons of Israel, therefore shalt thou say, What man soever, there may be of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in Israel, that giveth of his seed unto Molech, he shall, surely be put to death, —the people of the land shall stone him with stones;
3 Ja minä asetan minun kasvoni sitä ihmistä vastaan, ja hävitän hänen kansastansa, että hän Molekille siemenestänsä antanut ja minun pyhäni saastuttanut on, ja minun pyhää nimeäni häväissyt.
I, also, will set my face against that man, and will cut him off out of the midst of his people, —because of his seed, hath he given unto Molech, seeing that he hath made unclean my sanctuary, even to the extent of profaning my holy name.
4 Ja jos maan kansa sitä ihmistä säästää, joka siemenestänsä Molekille antanut on, niin ettei he sitä surmaa,
But, if the people of the land, do even hide, their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, —so as not to put him to death,
5 Niin minä kuitenkin sitä ihmistä vastaan minun kasvoni asetan, ja hänen sukuansa vastaan, ja hävitän sen ja kaikki jotka hänen perässänsä Molekin kanssa huorin tehneet ovat, heidän kansastansa.
then will I myself, set my face against that man, and against his family, —and will cut him off, and all that follow unchastely after him—in going unchastely after Molech—out of the midst of their people.
6 Jos joku sielu hänensä noitain ja tietäjäin tykö kääntää, huorin tekemään heidän kanssansa, niin minä kasvoni asetan sitä sielua vastaan, ja hävitän sen kansastansa.
The person also that turneth unto mediums and unto oracles, in going unchastely after them, then will I set my face against that person, and will cut him off out of the midst of his people.
7 Sentähden pyhittäkäät teitänne, ja olkaat pyhät; sillä minä olen Herra teidän Jumalanne.
Therefore shall ye hallow yourselves and be holy, —Because I—Yahweh, am your God.
8 Ja pitäkäät minun säätyni, ja tehkäät niitä; sillä minä olen Herra, joka teitä pyhitän.
Therefore shall ye observe my statutes, and do them, —I—Yahweh, am he that is hallowing you.
9 Kuka ikänänsä isäänsä ja äitiänsä kiroo, sen pitää totisesti kuoleman, että hän isäänsä ja äitiänsä kironnut on: hänen verensä olkoon hänen päällänsä.
When, any man whatsoever, curseth his father or his mother, he shall surely be put to death, —his father or his mother, hath he cursed, his blood, shall be upon himself.
10 Joka huorin tekee jonkun miehen aviopuolison kanssa, se joka lähimmäisensä emännän kanssa huorin tekee, pitää totisesti kuoletettaman, sekä huorintekiä, että huora.
And, any man, who committeth adultery with the wife of any other man, he that committeth adultery with the wife of his neighbour shall surely be put to death—the adulterer, and the adulteress.
11 Jos joku isänsä emännän tykönä makaa, niin että hän isänsä hävyn paljastanut on, he molemmat pitää totisesti kuoleman: heidän verensä olkoon heidän päällänsä.
And any man who lieth with his father’s wife, the shame of his father, hath uncovered, —they both shall, surely be put to death—their blood shall be upon themselves.
12 Jos joku miniänsä tykönä makaa, niin he molemmat pitää totisesti kuoleman; sillä he ovat kauhistuksen tehneet: heidän verensä olkoon heidän päällänsä.
And any man who lieth with his daughter-in-law, they both shall, surely be put to death, confusion, have they wrought—their blood shall be upon themselves.
13 Jos joku miehenpuolen kanssa makaa, niinkuin jonkun vaimon kanssa, he ovat kauhistuksen tehneet, heidän pitää molemmat totisesti kuoleman: heidän verensä olkoon heidän päällänsä.
And any man who lieth with mankind as with womankind, an abomination, have both of them wrought, —they shall, surely be put to death, —their blood, shall be upon themselves.
14 Jos joku nai vaimon ja sen äidin, hän on kauhistuksen tehnyt: se pitää tulella poltettaman, ja ne ynnä molemmat, ettei yhtään kauhistusta olisi teidän seassanne.
And, any man, who taketh a woman and her mother, wickedness, it is, —in fire, shall both he and they be consumed, that wickedness be not in your midst.
15 Jos joku eläimen kanssa makaa, sen pitää totisesti kuoleman, ja se eläin pitää tapettaman.
And, any man, who hath carnal knowledge of a beast, shall, surely be put to death, —and, the beast, shall ye slay.
16 Jos joku vaimo johonkuhun eläimeen ryhtyy, makaamaan sen kanssa, niin sinun pitää tappaman sekä vaimon, että eläimen; heidän pitää totisesti kuoleman: heidän verensä olkoon heidän päällänsä.
And, a woman, who approacheth unto any beast, to couch down thereto, then shalt thou slay the woman and the beast, —they shall surely be put to death, —their blood, shall be upon themselves.
17 Jos joku sisarensa nai, isänsä eli äitinsä tyttären, ja hänen häpynsä näkee, ja se näkee hänen häpynsä, se on kauhistus: ne pitää hävitettämän sukunsa kansan edessä: sillä hän on sisarensa hävyn paljastanut, hänen pitää pahuutensa kantaman.
And, any man, who taketh his sister—his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and vieweth her shame, and, she, vieweth his shame, a disgrace, it is, —they shall therefore be cut off in the sight of the sons of their people, —the shame of his sister, hath he uncovered—his iniquity, shall he bear.
18 Jos joku mies jonkun vaimon tykönä makaa hänen sairautensa aikana, ja paljastaa hänen häpynsä, ja avaa hänen lähteensä, ja vaimo paljastaa verensä lähteen: ne molemmat pitää hävitettämän heidän kansastansa.
And, any man, who lieth with a woman having her sickness, and uncovereth her shame, her fountain, hath he exposed, she, also hath uncovered her fountain of blood, —they shall therefore both be cut off out of the midst of their people.
19 Sinun äitis sisaren häpyä ja sinun isäs sisaren häpyä ei sinun pidä paljastaman; sillä se on lähimmäisensä paljastanut, ja ne pitää pahuutensa kantaman.
And the shame of thy mother’s sister, or of thy father’s sister, shalt thou not uncover, —for his near of kin, hath he exposed—their iniquity, shall they bear.
20 Jos joku setänsä emännän kanssa makaa, hän on setänsä hävyn paljastanut: ne pitää rikoksensa kantaman. Lapsetonna heidän pitää kuoleman.
And, any man, who lieth with his uncle’s wife, the shame of his uncle, hath he uncovered, —their sin, shall they bear—childless, shall they die.
21 Jos joku veljensä emännän ottaa, se on häpiällinen työ: heidän pitää lapsetonna oleman, että hän on veljensä hävyn paljastanut.
And, any man, who taketh his brother’s wife, impurity, it is, —the shame of his brother, hath he uncovered—childless, shall they remain.
22 Niin pitäkäät nyt kaikki minun säätyni, ja kaikki minun oikeuteni, ja tehkäät ne, ettei maa teitä oksentaisi, johon minä teidät vien asumaan.
Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes and all my regulations, and do them, —So shall the land whereinto I am bringing you to dwell therein, not vomit you forth;
23 Ja älkäät vaeltako pakanain säädyissä, jotka minä teidän edeltänne olen ajava ulos; sillä kaikkia näitä he ovat tehneet, ja minä olen kauhistunut heitä.
So shall ye not walk in the—statutes of the nations, which I am casting out from before you, —For all these things, had they done, Therefore I abhorred them;
24 Mutta teille sanon minä: teidän pitää omistaman heidän maansa; sillä minä annan teille sen perimiseksi, sen maan, jossa rieskaa ja hunajaa vuotaa. Minä olen Herra teidän Jumalanne, joka olen teitä eroittanut muista kansoista.
And said unto you—Ye, shall possess their soil, Yea, I myself, will give it you to possess it, A land flowing with milk and honey, —I—Yahweh, am your God, who have distinguished you from the peoples;
25 Että teidän pitää myös eroittaman puhtaat eläimet saastaisista, ja saastaiset linnut puhtaista, ja ei saastuttaman teidän sielujanne eläimissä, linnuissa ja kaikissa, mitkä maalla matelevat, jotka minä teille eroittanut olen, että ne ovat saastaiset.
Therefore shall ye make a distinction—Between the clean beasts, and the unclean, —And between the unclean birds and the clean, —So shall ye not make your persons abominable with beast, or with bird or with anything which creepeth upon the ground, which I have distinguished for you, as unclean.
26 Sentähden pitää teidän oleman minulle pyhät, sillä minä Herra olen pyhä, ja olen teitä eroittanut muista kansoista, että teidän pitäis oleman minun omani.
Therefore shall ye be unto me, holy persons, for, holy, am, I—Yahweh, —Therefore have I distinguished you from the peoples, that ye may be mine.
27 Jos joku mies eli vaimo noidaksi eli tietäjäksi löydetään, ne pitää totisesti kuoleman, heidän pitää ne kivittämän, heidän verensä olkoon heidän päällänsä.
And as touching man or woman, when there shall be in them a familiar spirit, or the spirit of an oracle, they shall, surely be put to death, —with stones, shall they be stoned—their blood, shall be upon themselves.
