Joosuan 13

1 Kuin Josua vanheni ja ijälliseksi tuli, sanoi Herra hänelle: sinä olet vanhentunut ja ijälliseksi tullut, ja maata on vielä aivan paljo jäänyt omistamata.

Now Joshua was old and well stricken in years. YHWH said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.

2 Tämä on se jälellä oleva maa: kaikki Philistealaisten maan ääret ja koko Gessuri,

This is the land that still remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshurites;

3 Sihorista, joka juoksee Egyptin editse, Ekronin maan ääriin asti, pohjan puoleen, jotka luetaan Kanaanealaisille; ne viisi Philistealaisten päämiestä ovat: Gasilainen, Asdonilainen, Asklonilainen, Gatilainen, Ekronilainen ja Avilainen.

from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even to the border of Ekron northward, which is counted as Canaanite; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim,

4 Mutta eteläänpäin ovat kaikki Kanaanealaisten maat ja Meara, joka on Zidonilaisten, Aphekiin saakka ja hamaan Amorilaisten maan ääriin asti,

on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and from Arah that belongs to the Sidonians to Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;

5 Ja myös Gibiläisten maa, ja koko Libanon auringon nousemiseen päin, BaalGadista Hermonin vuoren alta, siihenasti kuin Hamatiin tullaan.

and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad under Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath;

6 Kaikki jotka vuorella asuvat, Libanonista lämpimään veteen asti, ja kaikki Zidonilaiset: minä ajan ne Israelin lasten edestä pois; ainoasti jaa ne Israelille perimiseksi, niinkuin minä olen sinulle käskenyt.

all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, even all the Sidonians; them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only you allocate it to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

7 Niin jaa nyt tämä maa yhdeksän sukukunnan välillä perimiseksi, ja puolelle Manassen sukukunnalle.

Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh: from the Jordan as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun, you are to give it; the Great Sea will be the boundary.

8 Sillä Rubenilaiset ja Gadilaiset ovat toisen puolen Manassen sukukunnan kanssa saaneet perimisensä, jonka Moses heille oli antanut sillä puolella Jordania itään päin, niinkuin Herran palvelia Moses heille sen antanut oli:

But to the two tribes and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, with him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of YHWH gave them:

from Aroer, that is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba to Dibon;

and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the people of Ammon;

11 Ja Gileadin ja Gessurin ja Maakatin maan ääret, ja koko Hermonin vuoren, ja koko Basanin Salkaan asti;

and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;

all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (the same was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses attacked these, and drove them out.

Nevertheless the children of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.

14 Mutta Leviläisten sukukunnalle ei hän antanut yhtään perimistä; sillä Herran Israelin Jumalan polttouhri on heidän perintönsä, niinkuin hän heille sanonut oli.

Only he gave no inheritance to the tribe of Levi. The offerings of YHWH, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spoke to him.

15 Ja Moses antoi Rubenin lasten suvulle, heidän sukukuntainsa jälkeen:

Moses gave to the tribe of the descendants of Reuben according to their families.

16 Että heidän rajansa oli Aroerista, joka on Arnonin ojan reunalla, ja se kaupunki ojan keskellä kaiken sen tasaisen kedon kanssa Medeban tykönä;

Their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba;

17 Hesbonin kaupunkeinensa, jotka ovat tasaisella kedolla: Dibonin, BamotBaalin ja BetBaalMeonin,

Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,

18 Jaksan, Kedemotin, Mephaotin,

Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

19 Kirjataimin, Sibman, Zeretin, Saharin laakson, vuorilla,

Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar in the mount of the valley,

20 Ja BetPeorin, ne ojat Pisgan tykönä ja BetJesimotin,

Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth Jeshimoth,

all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

22 Ja Bileaminkin Beorin pojan, tietäjän, Israelin lapset miekalla kuoliaaksi löivät muita tapettaessa.

The children of Israel also killed Balaam, the son of Beor, the soothsayer, with the sword, among the rest of their slain.

23 Ja Rubenin lasten raja oli Jordani rajoinensa. Tämä on Rubenin lasten perimys heidän sukukuntainsa, kaupunkeinsa ja kyläinsä jälkeen.

The border of the descendants of Reuben was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the descendants of Reuben according to their families, the cities and its villages.

24 Ja Moses antoi Gadin lasten sukukunnalle heidän sukukuntainsa jälkeen,

Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the descendants of Gad, according to their families.

25 Että heidän rajansa oli Jaeser, ja kaikki Gileadin kaupungit, ja puoli Ammonin lasten maata, Aroeriin asti, joka on Rabban kohdalla,

Their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the people of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah;

26 Ja Hesbonista RamatMitspeen ja Betoniimiin asti, ja Mahanaimista Debirin rajaan asti,

and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

27 Ja laaksossa Betaram ja BetNimra, Sukkot ja Zaphon, joka jäi Sihonin Hesbonin kuninkaan valtakunnasta; joiden raja oli Jordani Kinneretin meren ääreen asti, toisella puolella Jordania itään päin.

and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan's bank, to the uttermost part of the sea of Kinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

28 Tämä on Gadin lasten perimys heidän sukukunnissansa, kaupungeissansa ja kylissänsä.

This is the inheritance of the descendants of Gad according to their families, the cities and its villages.

29 Ja Moses antoi puolelle Manassen lasten suvulle sen mikä puolelle Manassen sukukunnalle tuli, heidän sukukuntainsa jälkeen,

Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It was for the half-tribe of the descendants of Manasseh according to their families.

30 Että heidän rajansa oli Mahanaimista koko Basan, koko Ogin Basanin kuninkaan valtakunta ja kaikki Jairin kylät, jotka ovat Basanissa, kuusikymmentä kaupunkia,

Their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

31 Ja puolen Gileadia ja Astarotia, Edreiä Ogin valtakunnan kaupungit Basanissa (antoi hän) Makirin Manassen pojan lapsille, toiselle puolelle Makirin lapsia heidän sukukuntainsa jälkeen.

Half Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the descendants of Makir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the descendants of Makir according to their families.

32 Tämä on se minkä Moses antoi Moabin kedoilla, sillä puolella Jordania, Jerihon kohdalla itään päin.

These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.

33 Mutta Levin sukukunnalle ei antanut Moses yhtään perimystä; Herra Israelin Jumala on heidän perimisensä, niinkuin hän heille sanonut oli.

But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance. YHWH, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spoke to them.
