1 Silloin vastasi Bildad Suasta ja sanoi:

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:

2 Hallitus ja pelko on hänen tykönänsä, joka tekee rauhan korkeittensa seassa.

Dominion and fear are with Him; He maketh peace in His high places.

3 Kuka voi lukea hänen joukkonsa? ja kenen päälle ei paista hänen valkeutensa?

Is there any number of His armies? And upon whom doth not His light arise?

4 Kuinka on ihminen hurskas Jumalan edessä? eli kuinka vaimon lapsi on puhdas?

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

5 Katso, kuu ei valaise vielä, eikä tähdet ole vielä kirkkaat hänen silmäinsä edessä:

Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, and the stars are not pure in His sight;

6 Kuinka paljo vähemmin ihminen, se mato, ja ihmisen lapsi se toukka?

How much less man, that is a worm! and the son of man, that is a maggot!
