Jeremian 24
1 Katso, Herra osoitti minulle kaksi fikunakoria, pantua Herran templin eteen, sittekuin Nebukadnetsar, Babelin kuningas, oli vienyt pois Jekonian Jojakimin pojan Juudan kuninkaan, ja Juudan päämiehet, työmiehet ja sepät Jerusalemista, ja tuonut Babeliin.
Yahweh shewed me, and lo! two baskets of figs, which had been set before the temple of Yahweh, —after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive, Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and the princes of Judah and the carpenters and the smiths out of Jerusalem, and had brought them into Babylon: —
2 Yhdessä korissa olivat aivan hyvät fikunat, niinkuin ensin kypsyneet fikunat; mutta toisessa korissa olivat aivan pahat fikunat, niin ettei niitä taidettu syödä, että he olivat niin pahat.
the one basket, was of very good figs, like the first-ripe figs; and, the other basket, was of very bad figs, which could not be eaten for badness.
3 Ja Herra sanoi minulle: Jeremia, mitäs näet? Minä sanoin: fikunia; hyvät fikunat ovat aivan hyvät, ja pahat ovat aivan pahat, ettei niitä taideta syödä, niin pahat ne ovat.
Then said Yahweh unto me, —What canst thou see, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs: the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for badness.
4 Ja Herran sana tapahtui minulle ja sanoi:
Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:
5 Näin sanoo Herra Israelin Jumala; niinkuin nämät fikunat ovat hyvät, niin minä tahdon myös armollisesti korjata Juudan vankeja, jotka minä tästä kaupungista olen lähettänyt Kaldean maalle hyväksi;
Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Like these good figs, so, will I regard them of Judah who are carried into captivity, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.
6 Ja tahdon armollisesti katsoa heidän puoleensa, ja tuoda heitä tähän maahan jälleen, ja rakentaa heitä ja en tahdo lyödä maahan, minä tahdon heitä istuttaa ja en repiä ylös,
Therefore will I set mine eye upon them for good, and will bring them back upon this land, —and will build them up, and not pull them down, and will plant them and not root them up;
7 Ja antaa heille sydämen, että he minun tuntevat, että minä olen Herra; ja he ovat minun kansani, ja minä tahdon olla heidän Jumalansa; sillä heidän pitää kaikesta sydämestänsä minun tyköni itsensä kääntämän.
and will give them a heart to know, me, that, I, am Yahweh, So shall they become my people, And, I, will become their God; for they will return unto me with all their heart.
8 Mutta niinkuin pahat fikunat ovat pahat, ettei kukaan niitä syödä taida, sanoo Herra, niin tahdon minä myös hyljätä Zedekian, Juudan kuninkaan, niin myös hänen päämiehensä, ja mitä Jerusalemiin jäänyt on, ja jotka tässä maassa vielä ovat, ja jotka Egyptin maassa asuvat.
And like the bad figs, which cannot be eaten for badness, Surely thus, saith Yahweh—so, will I deliver up Zedekiah king of Judah, and his princes and the remnant of Jerusalem that remain in this land, and them who are dwelling in the land of Egypt;
9 Minä tahdon saattaa heille onnettomuuden ja en tahdo antaa heidän olla jossakussa valtakunnassa maan päällä, niin että heidän pitää häpiään tuleman, sananparreksi, jutuksi ja kiroukseksi joka paikassa, kuhunka minä heidät ajava olen.
yea I will deliver them up, as a terror of calamity, to all the kingdoms of the earth, —as a reproach and as a byword, as a mockery and as a contempt, in every place whither I will drive them;
10 Ja tahdon lähettää miekan, nälän ja ruton heidän sekaansa, siihenasti kuin heidän pitää maasta hukkuman, jonka minä heille ja heidän isillensä antanut olen.
and I will send among them, sword famine and pestilence, —until they are consumed from off the soil which I gave to them and to their fathers.
