Jesajan 62
1 Zionin tähden en minä vaikene, ja Jerusalemin tähden en minä lakkaa, siihenasti että hänen vanhurskautensa koittaa niinkuin paiste, ja hänen autuutensa palaa niinkuin tulisoitto.
For Zion's sake I will not keep silence, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her deliverance break forth like the shining light, And her salvation like a blazing torch.
2 Että pakanatkin näkisivät sinun vanhurskautes, ja kaikki kunikaat sinun kunnias. Ja sinä nimitetään uudella nimellä, jonka Herran suu on nimittävä.
Then shall the nations see thy prosperity, And all the kings thy glory; Thou shalt be called by a new name, Which the mouth of Jehovah shall give thee.
3 Ja sinun pitää oleman kunnian kruunu Herran kädesssä, ja kuninkaan hiippa sinun Jumalas kädessä.
Thou shalt be a beautiful crown in the hand of Jehovah, A royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4 Et sinä enään kutsuta hyljätyksi, eikä sinun maatas enää sanota hävitetyksi, vaan sinä kutsutaan: minun suosioni on hänessä, ja sinun maas asuttavaksi; sillä Herra on mielistynyt sinuun, ja sinun maallas asutaan.
No more shalt thou be called the Desolate, And thy land, the Forsaken. But thou shall be named My-delight-is-in-her. And thy land the wedded Matron. For Jehovah shall delight in thee, And thy land shall be married.
5 Sillä niinkuin nuorukainen rakastaa neitsyttä, niin sinun lapses pitää sinua rakastaman; ja niinkuin ylkä iloitsee morsiamestansa, niin myös sinun Jumalas iloitsee sinusta.
For as a young man weddeth a virgin. So shall thy children wed thee. And as a bridegroom rejoiceth in his bride, So shall thy God rejoice in thee.
6 Jerusalem, minä asetan vartiat muuris päälle, jotka ei ikänä päivällä eikä yöllä vaikene; ja jotka Herran muistatte, ei teidän pidä vaiti oleman.
Upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I set watchmen; All the day, and all the night, shall they not keep silence; O ye that praise Jehovah, keep not silence,
7 Ja ei teidän pidä hänestä vaikeneman, siihenasti että hän sen vahvistaa, ja asettaa Jerusalemin maan päälle kiitokseksi.
And give him no rest, Until he establish Jerusalem, and make her a praise in the earth!
8 Herra vannoo oikian kätensä kautta, ja voimansa käsivarren kautta: en minä tahdo enään antaa jyviäs vihollistes syödä, enkä viinaas, jonka tähden sinä työtä teit, muukalaisten juoda;
Jehovah hath sworn by his right hand, and his mighty arm: No more will I give thy corn to be food for thine enemies, Nor shall the sons of the stranger drink thy wine, for which thou hast labored.
9 Vaan jotka sen kokoovat, syövät sitä ja kiittävät Herraa; ja jotka sitä kokoovat, juovat sitä minun pyhyyteni esihuoneissa.
But they that reap the harvest shall eat it, And praise Jehovah; And they that gather the vintage shall drink it, In my holy comets.
10 Menkäät, menkäät porttein kautta, peratkaat tietä kansalle: silittäkäät, silittäkäät polut, siirtäkäät kivet pois, ylentäkäät lippu kansain päälle.
Pass ye, pass ye through the gates; Prepare the way for the people; Cast ye up, cast ye up the highway, Clear it from the stones; Lift up on high a standard for the tribes!
11 Katso, Herra antaa sen kuulua hamaan maailman ääriin asti: sanokaat Zionin tyttärelle: katso, sinun autuutes tulee, katso, hänen palkkansa on hänen myötänsä, ja hänen työnsä hänen edessänsä.
Behold, Jehovah proclaimeth to the end of the earth: “Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy Deliverer cometh! Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him!”
12 Ja he pitää kutsuttaman pyhäksi kansaksi, Herran lunastetuiksi; ja sinä kutsutaan etsityksi ja ei hyljätyksi kaupungiksi.
They shall be called, The holy people, The redeemed of Jehovah. And thou shalt be called, The Sought out, The Not forsaken City.
