1 Ja Herra sanoi Noalle: mene sinä ja koko sinun huonees arkkiin: sillä sinun minä olen nähnyt hurskaaksi minun edessäni tällä ajalla.
And YHWH says to Noah, “Come, you and all your house, into the Ark, for I have seen you [are] righteous before Me in this generation;
2 Kaikista puhtaista eläimistä ota tykös seitsemän ja seitsemän, koiras ja naaras, mutta saastaisista eläimistä kaksin, koiras ja naaras.
you take seven pairs from all the clean beasts to yourself, a male and its female; and of the beasts which are not clean—two, a male and its female;
3 Niin myös taivaan linnuista seitsemän ja seitsemän, koiras ja naaras, että siemen jäis elämään koko maan päällä.
also, seven pairs from [each] bird of the heavens, a male and a female, to keep alive seed on the face of all the earth;
4 Sillä vielä seitsemän päivän perästä annan minä sataa maan päälle neljäkymmentä päivää ja neljäkymmentä yötä, ja hukutan maan päältä kaikki elävät luontokappaleet, jotka minä tehnyt olen.
for after seven more days I am sending rain on the earth [for] forty days and forty nights, and have wiped away all the substance that I have made from off the face of the ground.”
5 Ja Noa teki kaiken sen jälkeen kuin Herra hänelle käski.
And Noah does according to all that YHWH has commanded him.
6 Ja Noa oli kuudensadan ajastajan vanha, koska vedenpaisumus tuli maan päälle.
And Noah [is] a son of six hundred years, and the flood of waters has been on the earth.
7 Ja Noa meni arkkiin poikinensa, emäntinensä, ja hänen poikainsa emännät hänen kanssansa, vedenpaisumisen edestä.
And Noah goes—and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him—into the Ark, out of the presence of the waters of the flood;
8 Puhtaista eläimistä ja saastaisista, ja linnuista ja kaikista, kuin matelevat maan päällä,
from the clean beast, and from the beast that [is] not clean, and from the bird, and of everything that is creeping on the ground,
9 Menivät Noan tykö arkkiin kaksittain, koiras ja naaras, niinkuin Herra Noalle käskenyt oli.
they have come to Noah two by two into the Ark, a male and a female, as God has commanded Noah.
10 Ja tapahtui, koska seitsemän päivää kuluneet olivat, tuli vedenpaisumus maan päälle.
And it comes to pass, after seven days, that waters of the flood have been on the earth.
11 Kuudennella sadalla ajastajalla Noan ijästä, toisella kuukaudella, seitsemäntenätoista kymmenentenä päivänä kuusta, sinä päivänä kuohuivat kaikki syvyyden lähteet, ja taivaan akkunat aukenivat.
In the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all [the] fountains of the great deep have been broken up, and the network of the heavens has been opened,
12 Ja maan päälle satoi neljäkymmentä päivää ja neljäkymmentä yötä.
and the shower is on the earth [for] forty days and forty nights.
13 Juuri sinä päivänä meni Noa ja Sem, ja Ham, ja Japhet, Noan pojat, ja Noan emäntä, ja kolme hänen poikainsa emäntää hänen kanssansa arkkiin.
On this very same day Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the Ark—
14 He ja kaikki pedot lajistansa, ja kaikki matelevaiset, jotka matelevat maan päällä, lajistansa, ja kaikki linnut lajistansa, kaikki lentäväiset, joilla siivet olivat.
they, and every living creature after its kind, and every beast after its kind, and every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind (every bird, every wing).
15 Ja menivät Noan tykö arkkiin kaksittain kaikesta lihasta, jossa elävä henki oli.
And they come to Noah, into the Ark, two by two of all the flesh in which [is] a living spirit;
16 Je ne olivat koirakset ja naarakset kaikkinaisesta lihasta, ja menivät sisälle niinkuin Jumala hänelle käskenyt oli. Ja Herra sulki hänen jälkeensä.
and they that are coming in, male and female of all flesh, have come in as God has commanded him, and YHWH closes [it] for him.
17 Silloin tuli vedenpaisumus neljäkymmentä päivää maan päälle, ja vedet paisuivat, ja nostivat arkin ylös, ja veivät korkialle maasta.
And the flood is on the earth [for] forty days, and the waters multiply and lift up the Ark, and it is raised up from off the earth;
18 Niin vedet saivat vallan, ja paisuivat sangen suuresti maan päälle, niin että arkki oli vesiajolla.
and the waters are mighty and multiply exceedingly on the earth; and the Ark goes on the face of the waters.
19 Ja vedet saivat sangen suuren vallan, ja enänivät niin suuresti maan päälle, että kaikki korkiat vuoret koko taivaan alla peitettiin.
And the waters have been very, very mighty on the earth, and all the high mountains are covered which [are] under the whole heavens;
20 Viisitoistakymmentä kyynärää korkialla olivat vedet vuorten päällä, jotka he peittivät.
the waters prevailed from above the mountains, and cover [them] fifteen cubits;
21 Silloin hukkui kaikki liha, joka maan päällä matelee, linnut, karja, pedot, ja kaikki, jotka maan päällä liikkuvat, ja kaikki ihmiset.
and all flesh expires that is moving on the earth, among bird, and among livestock, and among beast, and among every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth, and all mankind;
22 Ja kaikki, joilla elävä henki oli kuivan maan päällä, ne kuolivat.
all in whose nostrils [is] breath of a living spirit—of all that [is] in the dry land—have died.
23 Niin hukutettiin kaikki ne, kuin maan päällä olivat, ihmisestä niin karjaan asti, ja matoihin, ja taivaan lintuihin asti, kaikki hukutettiin maan päältä, ainoastansa Noa jäi, ja ne jotka hänen kanssansa olivat arkissa.
And all the substance that is on the face of the ground is wiped away—from man to beast, to creeping thing, and to bird of the heavens; indeed, they are wiped away from the earth, and only Noah is left, and those who [are] with him in the Ark;
24 Ja vedet seisoivat valtiasna maan päällä sata ja viisikymmentä päivää.
and the waters are mighty on the earth [for] one hundred and fifty days.
