1 Ja sinä ihmisen lapsi, ota sinulles tiilikivi, pane se etees, ja piirusta sen päälle Jerusalemin kaupunki.
Thou therefore O son of man Take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, —and portray thereon a city, even Jerusalem.
2 Ja lyö leiri sen ympärille, ja rakenna siihen aita, ja tee siihen valli, ja aseta siihen sotaväki, ja pane sota-aseet sitä vastaan joka taholta.
Then shalt thou lay siege against it And build up against it a siege-wall And cast up against it, a mound, — And set against it camps, And place against it battering-rams, round about.
3 Mutta ota etees rautapannu, ja anna sen olla rautaisen seinän edestä sinun ja kaupungin välillä, ja aseta kasvos häntä vastaan, niinkuin piiritettävä, ja piiritä se. Se olkoon Israelin huoneelle merkiksi.
Thou, therefore take thee a pan of iron, and set it for a wall of iron, between thee and the city, —then shalt thou direct thy face against it and it shall come into siege and thou shalt lay siege to it, a sign, shall it be to the house of Israel.
4 Sinun pitää myös makaaman vasemmalla kyljelläs, ja Israelin huoneen pahat teot paneman sen päälle. Niin monta päivää kuin sinä makaat sen päällä, niin kauvan pitää sinun myös kantaman heidän pahoja tekojansa.
Thou, therefore lie thou on thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it, — during the number of the days which thou shalt lie thereon, shalt thou bear their punishment.
5 Mutta minä tahdon tehdä sinulle heidän pahain tekoinsa vuosikaudet päiviksi: kolmeksisadaksi ja yhdeksäksikymmeneksi päiväksi; niin kauvan pitää sinun kantaman Israelin huoneen pahoja töitä.
I therefore have appointed thee the years of their punishment, by the number of days a hundred and ninety days, —so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6 Ja kuin ne olet täyttänyt, sitte pitää sinun makaaman Juudan huoneen pahoja töitä neljäkymmentä päivää; sillä minä annan sinulle tässä myös päivän joka vuoden edestä.
And when thou hast ended these, then shalt thou lie, on thy right side. a second time, and shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah, — forty days, one day for each year, have I appointed thee.
7 Ja aseta kasvos ja paljas käsivartes ympäri piiritettyä Jerusalemia vastaan, ja ennusta häntä vastoin.
Thus then unto the siege of Jerusalem, shalt thou direct thy face, with thine arm made bare, —so shalt thou prophesy against it.
8 Ja katso, minä panen nuorat sinun päälles, niin ettei sinun pidä saaman kääntää itsiäs yhdeltä kyljeltä toiselle, siihenasti että sinä olet lopettanut piirittämises päivät.
And lo! I have laid upon thee-bands, —and thou shalt not turn thee from thy one side to thine other, until thou have ended the days of thy siege.
9 Niin ota nyt nisuja, rukiita ja ohria, papuja, herneitä ja kauroja, ja pane ne yhteen astiaan, ja tee itselles siitä niin monta leipää kuin monta päivää on, jotka sinun kyljelläs makaaman pitää, että sinulla olis siitä syömistä kolmeksisadaksi ja yhdeksäksikymmeneksi päiväksi.
Thou, therefore, take thee wheat and barley and peas and lentils and millet and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make them ready for thee as bread, —during the number of days which thou art lying on thy side. a hundred and ninety days, shalt thou eat it;
10 Niin että sinun ruokas, jonka sinun kunakin päivänä syömän pitää, pitää painaman kaksikymmentä sikliä. Tämän sinun syömän pitää yhdestä päivästä niin toiseen.
and thy food which thou shalt eat shall be by weight twenty shekels a day, — from time to time, shalt thou eat it;
11 Vettä pitää sinun myös juoman määrällä, kuudennen osan hinniä; ja sen sinun pitää juoman yhdestä päivästä niin toiseen.
and water by measure, shalt thou drink the sixth part of a hin, -from time to time shalt thou drink;
12 Ohraisia leipiä piää sinun syömän, jotka sinun heidän silmäinsä edessä ihmisen jäljellä kypsentämän pitää.
and as a barley cake, shalt thou eat it, —and the same with dung proceeding from man, shalt thou bake, before their eyes.
13 Ja Herra sanoi: ratki näin pitää Israelin lapset syömän saastaista leipäänsä pakanain seassa, kuhunka minä heitä ajava olen.
Then said Yahweh, In like manner, shall the sons of Israel eat their bread defiled, —among the nations whither I will drive them.
14 Mutta minä sanoin: voi Herra, Herra, katso, minun sieluni ei ole koskaan vielä saastutettu; sillä en ole minä ikänä, hamasta minun nuoruudestani tähän asti, mitään raatoa taikka raadeltua syönyt, ja ei saastainen liha ole koskaan suuhuni tullut.
Then said, I, Ah! My Lord. Yahweh, lo! my person, hath not been defiled: neither of what hath died of itself nor of what hath been torn in pieces: have I eaten, from my youthful days even unto now, neither hath come into my mouth the flesh of a foul thing.
15 Mutta hän sanoi minulle: katso, minä tahdon antaa sinulle karjan sontaa ihmisen jäljen edestä, jolla sinun leipäs tekemän pitää.
So then he said unto me, See I have granted thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, —and thou shalt prepare thy bread thereupon.
16 Ja hän sanoi minulle: sinä ihmisen lapsi, katso, minä tahdon otaa pois leivän aineen Jerusalemista, niin että heidän pitää leipää syömän painolla ja murheella, ja juoman vettä määrällä ja surulla.
And he said unto me, Son of man Behold me! breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, So shall they eat bread by weight and with anxious care, And water by measure, and in astonishment, shall they drink:
17 Että leipä ja vesi puuttuman pitää, ja yhden pitää sureman toisen kanssa, ja nääntymän pahoissa teoissansa.
that they may lack bread and water and be astonished one with another, and pine away in their punishment.
