Hesekielin 30
1 Ja Herran sana tapahtui minulle ja sanoi:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 Sinä, ihmisen poika, ennusta ja sano: näin sanoo Herra, Herra: valittakaat ja sanokaat: voi sitä päivää!
“Son of man, prophesy and say: Thus says the Lord God: Wail: ‘Woe, woe to the day!’
3 Sillä päivä on sangen läsnä, ja Herran päivä on lähestynyt, pilvinen päivä: aika on käsissä, että pakanat tuleman pitää.
For the day is near, and the day of the Lord is approaching! It is a day of gloom; it will be the time of the Gentiles.
4 Ja miekka tulee Egyptin päälle, Etiopian pitää hämmästymän, kuin lyödyt Egyptissä lankeevat, ja sen kansa viedään pois, ja sen perustus revitään ylös.
And the sword will come to Egypt. And there will be dread in Ethiopia, when the wounded will have fallen in Egypt, and its multitude will have been taken away, and its foundations will have been destroyed.
5 Etiopia, ja Lydia, ja Lydia, kaikki kansoinensa, ja Kub, ja jotka liiton maakunnasta ovat, kaatuvat miekalla.
Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the rest of the common people, and Chub, and the sons of the land of the covenant, will fall with them by the sword.

Thus says the Lord God: And those who prop up Egypt will fall, and the arrogance of its reign will be brought down. They will fall in it by the sword, before the tower of Syene, says the Lord, the God of hosts.
7 Ja heidän autiot rajansa pitää kylmille tuleman, hävitettyin maakuntain keskellä, ja heidän kaupunkinsa hävitettämän muiden autioiden kaupunkien seassa.
And they will be scattered into the midst of desolate lands, and its cities will be in the midst of cities that have been deserted.
8 Että heidän pitää ymmärtämän, että minä olen Herra, kuin minä teen tulen Egyptiin, ja kaikki, jotka heitä auttavat, hukkuvat.
And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have brought a fire into Egypt, and when all its helpers will have been worn away.
9 Silloin sanansaattajat lähtevät ulos minun tyköäni haaksilla, peljättämään Etiopiaa, joka nyt niin surutoin on; ja hämmästyksen pitää oleman heidän seassansa, niinkuin se tapahtui Egyptille, kuin hänen aikansa tuli; sillä katso, se tulee.
In that day, messengers will go forth from my face in Greek warships, in order to crush the confidence of Ethiopia. And there will be dread among them in the day of Egypt; for without doubt, it will happen.
10 Näin sanoo Herra, Herra: minä vähennän sen paljouden Egyptistä Nebukadnetsarin, Babelin kuninkaan kautta.
Thus says the Lord God: By the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, I will cause the multitude of Egypt to cease.
11 Sillä hän ja hänen kansansa, ne pakanain tyrannit, ovat siihen kutsutut hävittämään maata, ja vetämään miekkansa Egyptiä vastaan, että maakunta piti lyödyillä täytettämän.
He, and his people with him, the strongest of the Gentiles, will be brought forth in order to destroy the land. And they will draw their swords over Egypt. And they will fill the land with the slain.
12 Ja minä tahdon kuivata virrat, ja myydä maan tylyin ihmisten käsiin, ja hävitän maakunnan ja mitä siinä on, muukalaisten kautta. Minä Herra olen sen puhunut.
And I will cause the channels of the rivers to dry up. And I will deliver the land into the hand of the most wicked. And by the hands of foreigners, I will utterly destroy the land and its plenitude. I, the Lord, have spoken.
13 Näin sanoo Herra, Herra: minä hävitän kuvat, ja lopetan epäjumalat Nophista; ja Egyptillä ei pidä ruhtinaita oleman, ja minä lähetän hämmästyksen Egyptin maahan.
Thus says the Lord God: And I will destroy the graven images, and I will cause the idols of Memphis to cease. And there will no longer be a commander of the land of Egypt. And I will send terror upon the land of Egypt.
14 Ja teen Patroksen autioksi, ja sytytän tulen Zoaniin, ja annan oikeuden käydä Noon päälle.
And I will destroy the land of Pathros, and I will send a fire upon Tahpanhes, and I will execute judgments in Alexandria.
15 Ja kaadan minun julmuuteni Sinin päälle, joka Egyptin vahvuus on, ja hävitän Noon paljouden.
And I will pour out my indignation upon Pelusium, the strength of Egypt, and I will kill the multitude of Alexandria.
16 Ja sytytän tulen Egyptissä, ja Sinissä pitää oleman hädän ja tuskan, ja Noo pitää kukistettaman maahan: ja Nophilla pitää jokapäiväiset viholliset oleman.
And I will send a fire upon Egypt. Pelusium will be in pain, like a woman giving birth. And Alexandria will be utterly destroyed. And in Memphis, there will be anguish every day.
17 Nuoret miehet Avenissa ja Pibastissa pitää miekalla lankeeman; ja vaimot vankina vietämän pois.
The young men of Heliopolis and Pibeseth will fall by the sword, and the young women will be led into captivity.
18 Tahpanheksella pitää oleman pimiä päivä, kuin minä siellä Egyptin ijestä lyön, niin että hänen väkevyytensä ylpeys pitää siinä loppuman; hänen pitää pilvellä peitetyksi tuleman, ja hänen tyttärensä viedään pois vankina.
And in Tahpanhes, the day will grow black, when, in that place, I will break the scepters of Egypt. And the arrogance of her authority will fail within her; a gloom will cover her. Then her daughters will be led into captivity.
19 Ja minä annan oikeuden käydä Egyptin ylitse; ja heidän pitää ymmärtämän, että minä olen Herra.
And I will execute judgments in Egypt. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
20 Ja tapahtui ensimäisenä vuotena toistakymmentä, seitsemäntenä päivänä ensimäisessä kuussa, että Herran sana tapahtui minlle, sanoen:
And it happened that, in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
21 Sinä ihmisen poika, minä taitan rikki Pharaon, Egyptin kuninkaan käsivarren; ja katso, ei sitä pidä sidottaman, että hän paranis, eli siteillä käärittämän, että hän vahvistuis, ja miekkaan ruveta taitais.
“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. And behold, it has not been wrapped, so that it might be restored to health; it has not been bound with cloths, or bandaged with linen, so that, having recovered strength, it would be able to hold the sword.
22 Sentähden näin sanoo Herra, Herra: katso, minä tahdon Pharaon, Egyptin kuninkaan kimppuun, ja taitan hänen käsivartensa rikki, sekä sen vahvan että särjetyn, ja pudotan miekan hänen kädestänsä.
Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and I will shatter his strong arm, which has already been broken. And I will cast the sword away from his hand.
23 Ja hajoitan Egyptiläiset pakanain sekaan, ja ajan heitä maakuntiin.
And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and I will scatter them among the lands.
24 Mutta Babelin kuninkaan käsivarren minä vahvistan, ja annan hänelle minun miekkani käteensä, ja muserran Pharaon käsivarret rikki, että hänen pitää huokaaman hänen edessänsä, niinkuin se, joka kuolemahaavan saanut on.
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon. And I will put my sword into his hand. And I will break the arms of Pharaoh. And they will groan acutely, when they are slain before his face.
25 Ja minä vahvistan Babelin kuninkaan käsivarret; ja Pharaon käsivarret pitää muserrettaman rikki, että heidän pitää tietämän, että minä olen Herra, kuin minä annan Babelin kuninkaalle minun miekkani käteen, että hänen sen Egyptiä vastaan vetämän pitää.
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon. And the arms of Pharaoh will fall. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have given my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and when he will have extended it over the land of Egypt.
26 Ja minä hajoitan Egyptiläiset pakanain sekaan, ja ajan heitä maakuntiin, että heidän ymmärtämän pitää, että minä olen Herra.
And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and I will scatter them among the lands. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
