Efesolaisille 3
1 Sentähden minä Paavali, Jesuksen Kristuksen vanki, teidän pakanain tähden;
For this cause, I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you the nations,
2 Jos te muutoin kuulleet olette Jumalan armon huoneenhallituksesta, joka minulle teidän puoleenne annettu on,
if, indeed, you heard of the dispensation of the grace of God that was given to me in regard to you,
3 Että minulle on tämä salaus ilmoituksen kautta tiettäväksi tehty, niinkuin minä jo ennen lyhykäisesti kirjoitin,
that by revelation He made known to me the secret, according as I wrote before in few [words]—
4 Josta te lukein taidatte minun ymmärrykseni Kristuksen salaisuudessa tuta,
in regard to which you are able, reading [it], to understand my knowledge in the secret of the Christ,
5 Joka ei ole entisiin aikoihin niin ihmisten lapsille tiettäväksi tehty, kuin se nyt hänen pyhille apostoleillensa ja prophetaillensa Hengen kautta ilmoitettu on:
which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it was now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit—
6 Nimittäin, että pakanat pitää kanssaperilliset ja yksi ruumis oleman ja osalliset hänen lupauksestansa Kristuksessa, evankeliumin kautta,
that the nations are fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in the Christ, through the good news,
7 Jonka palveliaksi minä tullut olen Jumalan armon lahjan kautta, joka hänen voimansa vaikutuksesta minulle annettu on.
of which I became a servant, according to the gift of the grace of God that was given to me, according to the working of His power;
8 Minulle, joka kaikkein vähin pyhäin seassa olen, on tämä armo annettu, että minä pakanain seassa tutkimattoman Kristuksen rikkauden julistaisin,
to me—the less than the least of all the holy ones—was given this grace, among the nations to proclaim good news—the untraceable riches of the Christ,
9 Ja jokaiselle valkeuteen saattaisin, mikä osallisuus siinä salaisuudessa on, joka ijankaikkisesti on salattu ollut Jumalassa, joka kaikki Jesuksen Kristuksen kautta luonut on: (aiōn g165)
and to cause all to see what [is] the fellowship of the secret that has been hid from the ages in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ, (aiōn g165)
10 Että nyt haltioille ja esivalloille taivaallisissa Jumalan moninainen viisaus seurakunnan kautta tiettäväksi tulis,
that there might be made known now to the principalities and the authorities in the heavenly [places], through the Assembly, the manifold wisdom of God,
11 Sen ijankaikkisen aivoituksen jälkeen, jonka hän Kristuksessa Jesuksessa meidän Herrassamme osoittanut on, (aiōn g165)
according to a purpose of the ages, which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord, (aiōn g165)
12 Jonka kautta meillä on uskallus ja tykökäymys kaikella rohkeudella, uskon kautta hänen päällensä.
in whom we have the freedom and the access in confidence through the faith of Him,
13 Sentähden minä rukoilen, ettette minun vaivaini tähden väsyisi, joita minä teidän edestänne kärsin, joka teidän kunnianne on.
for this reason, I ask [you] not to faint in my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 Sentähden kumarran minä polveni meidän Herran Jesuksen Kristuksen Isän puoleen,
For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Joka kaikkein oikia Isä on, jotka taivaissa ja maassa lapsiksi kutsutaan,
of whom the whole family in the heavens and on earth is named,
16 Että hän antais teille voimaa kunniansa rikkauden jälkeen, että te hänen Henkensä kautta väkeväksi tulisitte sisällisessä ihmisessä;
that He may give to you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened through His Spirit with might, in regard to the inner man,
17 Ja että Kristus asuis uskon kautta teidän sydämissänne;
that the Christ may dwell through the faith in your hearts, having been rooted and founded in love,
18 Että te olisitte rakkauden kautta juurtuneet ja perustetut; että te selkiästi käsittäisitte kaikkein pyhäin kanssa, mikä leveys ja pituus, ja syvyys ja korkeus olis,
that you may be in strength to comprehend, with all the holy ones, what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height,
19 Ja Kristuksen rakkauden tuntisitte, joka kaiken tuntemisen ylitse käy; että te olisitte kaikella Jumalan täydellisyydellä täytetyt.
to know also the love of the Christ that is exceeding the knowledge, that you may be filled—to all the fullness of God;
20 Mutta hänelle, joka kaikki ylönpalttisesti voi tehdä, kaiken senkin ylitse, kuin me rukoilemme taikka ymmärrämme, sen voiman jälkeen, joka meissä vaikuttaa,
and to Him who is able to do exceedingly [and] abundantly above all things that we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us,
