5 Mooseksen 6
1 Nämät ovat ne käskyt, säädyt ja oikeudet, jotka Herra teidän Jumalanne käski opettaa teille tehdäksenne siinä maassa, kuhunka te menette omistamaan sitä.
“And this [is] the command, the statutes and the judgments which your God YHWH has commanded to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over there to possess it,
2 Ettäs pelkäisit Herraa sinun Jumalaas, ja pitäisit kaikki hänen säätynsä ja käskynsä, jotka minä käsken sinulle, sinä ja sinun lapses ja sinun lastes lapset, kaikkena sinun elinaikanas, ettäs kauvan eläisit.
so that you fear your God YHWH, to keep all His statutes and His commands which I am commanding you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all [the] days of your life, and so that your days are prolonged.
3 Israel, sinun pitää kuuleman ja pitämän, niin että sinä myös teet sen jälkeen, että sinulle hyvin kävis, ja te tulisitte paljon lisätyksi; niinkuin Herra sinun isäis Jumala sinulle on luvannut maan, joka rieskaa ja hunajaa vuotaa.
And you have heard, O Israel, and observed to do [them], that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply exceedingly, as YHWH, God of your fathers, has spoken to you, [in] the land flowing with milk and honey.
4 Kuule Israel, Herra meidän Jumalamme on yksi (ainoa) Herra,
Hear, O Israel: Our God YHWH—YHWH [is] one!
5 Ja sinun pitää rakastaman Herraa sinun Jumalaas, kaikesta sydämestäs, ja kaikesta sielustas ja kaikesta voimastas.
And you have loved your God YHWH with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
6 Ja nämät sanat, jotka minä käsken sinulle tänäpänä, pitää sinun paneman sydämees,
And these words which I am commanding you today have been on your heart,
7 Ja teroittaman ne sinun lapsilles, ja niistä puhuman, huoneessa istuissas ja tiellä käydessäs, maata pannessas ja noustessas.
and you have repeated them to your sons, and spoken of them in your sitting in your house, and in your walking in the way, and in your lying down, and in your rising up,
8 Ja sinun pitää sitoman ne merkiksi kätees, ja ne pitää oleman sinulle muistoksi sinun silmäis edessä.
and have bound them for a sign on your hand, and they have been for frontlets between your eyes,
9 Ja sinun pitää kirjoittaman ne huonees pihtipieliin ja portteihis,
and you have written them on doorposts of your house and on your gates.
10 Kuin Herra sinun Jumalas johdattaa sinun sille maalle, jonka hän sinun isilles, Abrahamille, Isaakille ja Jakobille on vannonut sinulle antaaksensa, suuret ja jalot kaupungit, joita et sinä rakentanut,
And it has been, when your God YHWH brings you into the land which He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to you great and good cities which you have not built,
11 Ja huoneet täynnä kaikkea hyvyyttä, joita et sinä itse täyttänyt, ja vuojonkiviset kaivot, joita et sinä itse kaivanut, ja viinamäet ja öljymäet, joita et sinä itse istuttanut, että sinä syöt ja ravitaan.
and houses full of all good things which you have not filled, and wells dug which you have not dug, vineyards and olive-yards which you have not planted, that you have eaten and been satisfied.
12 Niin ota vaari, ettet sinä unhota Herraa, joka sinun Egyptin maalta, orjuuden huoneesta on johdattanut ulos.
Take heed to yourself lest you forget YHWH who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants.
13 Mutta sinun pitää pelkäämän Herraa sinun Jumalaas ja palveleman häntä, ja hänen nimensä kautta pitää sinun vannoman.
You fear your God YHWH, and you serve Him, and you swear by His Name.
14 Ei teidän pidä seuraaman muukalaisia jumalia, niiden kansain jumalia, jotka teidän ympärillänne ovat.
You do not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who [are] around you,
15 Sillä Herra sinun Jumalas on kiivas Jumala teidän keskellänne, ettei Herran sinun Jumalas viha julmistuisi sinun päälles, ja hukuttaisi sinua maasta.
for your God YHWH [is] a zealous God in your midst—lest the anger of your God YHWH burns against you, and He has destroyed you from off the face of the ground.
16 Ei teidän pidä kiusaaman Herraa teidän Jumalaanne, niinkuin te häntä kiusasitte Massassa;
You do not try your God YHWH as you tried [Him] in Massah.
17 Mutta pitämän uskollisesti Herran teidän Jumalanne käskyt, niin myös hänen todistuksensa ja hänen säätynsä, jotka hän sinulle käskenyt on,
You diligently keep the commands of your God YHWH, and His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you,
18 Ettäs teet sitä mikä oikia ja hyvä on Herran edessä, että sinulle hyvin kävis, ja tulisit sisälle ja omistaisit sen hyvän maan, josta Herra vannoi sinun isilles,
and you have done that which is right and good in the eyes of YHWH, so that it is well with you, and you have gone in and possessed the good land which YHWH has sworn to your fathers,
19 Että hän karkottais kaikki viholliset sinun edestäs, niinkuin Herra sanonut on.
to drive away all your enemies from your presence, as YHWH has spoken.
20 Kuin poikas tästälähin kysyy sinulta, sanoen: mitkä todistukset ja säädyt ja oikeudet nämät ovat, jotka Herra meidän Jumalamme teille käskenyt on?
When your son asks you hereafter, saying, What [are] the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments which our God YHWH has commanded you?
21 Niin sinun pitää sanoman pojalles: me olimme Pharaon orjat Egyptissä; mutta Herra johdatti meidät ulos Egyptistä väkevällä kädellä.
Then you have said to your son, We have been servants of Pharaoh in Egypt, and YHWH brings us out of Egypt by a high hand;
22 Ja Herra teki suuria ja pahoja tuunustähtejä, ja ilmeitä Egyptille, Pharaolle, ja kaikelle hänen huoneellensa, meidän silmäimme edessä.
and YHWH gives signs and wonders, great and severe, on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house, before our eyes;
23 Ja johdatti meidät sieltä, että hän veis meitä, ja antais meille sen maan, josta hän vannoi meidän isillemme.
and He has brought us out from there, in order to bring us in, to give to us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.
24 Ja Herra käski meitä tekemään kaikkein näiden säätyin jälkeen, peljäten Herraa meidän Jumalaamme, että meille hyvin kävis kaikkena meidän elinaikanamme, niinkuin myös tänäpänä käy.
And YHWH commands us to do all these statutes, to fear our God YHWH, for good to ourselves [for] all the days, to keep us alive, as [at] this day;
25 Ja sen pitää oleman meille vanhurskaudeksi, jos me pidämme ja teemme kaikki nämät käskyt Herran meidän Jumalamme edessä, niinkuin hän meille on käskenyt.
and it is righteousness for us when we observe to do all this command before our God YHWH, as He has commanded us.”
