Aamoksen 7
1 Niin Herra, Herra osoitti minulle näyssä; ja katso, yksi seisoi, joka heinäsirkkoja teki, juuri silloin, kuin oras rupesi käymään ylös, toisen kerran sittekuin kuningas oli antanut niittää.
Thus Lord YHWH has showed me, and behold, He is forming locusts at the beginning of the ascending of the latter growth, and behold, the latter growth [is] after the mowings of the king [[or King Gog]];
2 Kuin ne niin tahtoivat kaiken tulon syödä maalta, sanoin minä: voi Herra, Herra, ole armollinen! kuka tahtoo Jakobin taas auttaa? sillä hän on aivan vähä.
and it has come to pass, when it has finished to consume the herb of the land, that I say, “Lord YHWH, please forgive, How does Jacob arise—for he [is] small?”
3 Niin Herra katui sitä: ei sen pidä tapahtuman, sanoi Herra.
YHWH has relented of this, “It will not be,” said YHWH.
4 Niin Herra, Herra osoitti minulla näyssä, ja katso, Herra, Herra kutsui tulen rankaisemaan, jonka piti suuren syvyyden syömän, ja se söi jo parhaan osan.
Thus has Lord YHWH showed me, and behold, Lord YHWH is calling to contend by the fire, and it consumes the great deep, indeed, it has consumed the portion, and I say,
5 Niin minä sanoin: voi Herra, Herra, lakkaa nyt, kuka tahtoo Jakobia taas auttaa? sillä hän on aivan vähä.
“Lord YHWH, please cease, How does Jacob arise—for he [is] small?”
6 Niin Herra katui myös sitä: ei senkään pidä tapahtuman, sanoi Herra, Herra.
YHWH has relented of this, “It also will not be,” said Lord YHWH.
7 Mutta hän osoitti minulle tämän näyssä, ja katso, Herra seisoi muurin päällä, joka mittanuoralla mitattu oli, ja hän piti mittanuoran kädessänsä.
Thus has He showed me, and behold, the Lord is standing by a wall [made according to] a plumb-line, and in His hand a plumb-line;
8 Ja Herra sanoi minulle: mitäs näet, Amos? minä sanoin: mittanuoran. Herra sanoi: katso, minä tahdon vetää mittanuoran keskelle minun kansaani Israelia, ja en käy enään häntä ohitse.
and YHWH says to me, “What are you seeing, Amos?” And I say, “A plumb-line”; and the Lord says: “Behold, I am setting a plumb-line in the midst of My people Israel, I no longer pass over to it.
9 Vaan Isaakin korkeudet pitää autioksi tuleman, ja Israelin pyhyydet pitää hävitettämän; ja minä tahdon nostaa miekan Jerobeamin huonetta vastaan.
And high places of Isaac have been desolated, And sanctuaries of Israel are dried up, And I have risen against the house of Jeroboam with a sword.”
10 Niin Betelin pappi Amatsia lähetti Israelin kuninkaan tykö, sanoen: Amos tekee kapinan sinua vastaan Israelin huoneessa, eipä maakaan voi kaikkia hänen sanojansa kärsiä.
And Amaziah priest of Beth-El sends to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words,
11 Sillä näin sanoo Amos: Jerobeamin täytyy miekalla kuolla, ja Israel pitää vietämän vangittuna pois maastansa.
for thus said Amos: Jeroboam dies by sword, And Israel certainly removes from off its land.”
12 Ja Amatsia sanoi Amokselle: sinä näkiä, mene pois, ja ennusta siellä.
And Amaziah says to Amos, “Seer, go, flee to the land of Judah for yourself, and eat bread there, and there you prophesy;
13 Ja älä Betelissä enään ennusta; se on kuninkaan pyhä sia ja valtakunnan huone.
and no longer prophesy [at] Beth-El anymore, for it [is] the king’s sanctuary, and it [is] the royal house.”
14 Amos vastasi ja sanoi Amatsialle: en minä ole propheta enkä prophetan poika, vaan minä olen karjan paimen ja marjain hakia.
And Amos answers and says to Amaziah, “I [am] no prophet, nor [am] I a prophet’s son, but I [am] a herdsman, and a cultivator of sycamores,
15 Mutta Herra otti minun karjasta, ja sanoi minulle: mene ja ennusta minun kansaani Israelia vastaan.
and YHWH takes me from after the flock, and YHWH says to me, Go, prophesy to My people Israel.
16 Niin kuule siis Herran sanaa: sinä sanot: älä ennusta Israelia vastaan, älä myös puhu Isaakin huonetta vastaan;
And now, hear a word of YHWH: You are saying, Do not prophesy against Israel, nor drop [anything] against the house of Isaac,
17 Sentähden sanoo Herra näin: sinun emäntäs pitää kaupungissa raiskattaman, ja sinun poikas ja tyttäres pitää miekalla lankeeman, ja sinun peltos pitää nuoralla jaettaman; mutta itse sinun pitää saastaisessa maassa kuoleman, ja Israel pitää ajettaman peräti pois maastansa.
therefore, thus said YHWH: Your wife goes whoring in the city, And your sons and your daughters fall by sword, And your land is apportioned by line, And you die on an unclean land, And Israel certainly removes from off its land.”
