2 Pietarin 2
1 Niin oli myös vääriä prophetaita kansan seassa, niinkuin teidänkin sekaanne vääriä opettajia tulee, jotka vahingolliset eriseurat tuovat ja kieltävät sen Herran, joka heidät ostanut on, saattain itsellensä nopian kadotuksen,
But there arose false prophets also among the people, as there will be false teachers among you also, who will stealthily bring in destructive factions, even denying the Lord that bought them; bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Ja moni noudattaa heidän kadotustansa, joiden kautta totuuden tie pilkataan.
And many will follow their dissolute ways, by reason of whom the way of truth will be evil spoken of;
3 Ja ahneudesta ajatelluilla sanoilla pitää heidän teitä kauppaaman, joiden tuomio ei silleen kauvan viivy, eikä heidän kadotuksensa makaa.
and in covetousness will they with feigned words make merchandise of you; for whom the judgment long ago ordained lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.
4 Sillä jos ei Jumala armahtanut niitä enkeleitä, jotka syntiä tekivät, vaan on pimeyden kahleilla helvettiin syössyt, ja antoi ylön heidät tuomioon kätkettää, (Tartaroō g5020)
For if God spared not angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them over to chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (Tartaroō g5020)
5 Ja ei ole armahtanut entistä maailmaa, vaan vapahti Noan vanhurskauden saarnaajan itse kahdeksantena, ja toi vedenpaisumisen jumalattomain maailman päälle;
and spared not the old world, but saved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 Ja on ne kaupungit Sodoman ja Gomorran tuhaksi tehnyt, kukistanut ja kadottanut, ja teki ne jumalattomille peljästykseksi, jotka sitte tulevat olivat;
and turning into ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, condemned them to overthrow, making them an example for those who in after time should live ungodly;
7 Ja on pelastanut hurskaan Lotin, joka riettaisilta ihmisiltä heidän haureutensa menolla vaivattiin;
and delivered righteous Lot, distressed by the lewd conduct of the lawless men;
8 (Sillä hän oli hurskas ja asui heidän seassansa, ja kuitenkin senkaltaista piti näkemän ja kuuleman, he vaivasivat sitä hurskasta sielua joka päivä väärillä töillänsä; )
(for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing tormented his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds; )
9 Niin Herra tietää jumaliset kiusauksista pelastaa, mutta väärät kätkeä tuomiopäivään asti vaivattaa.
the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unrighteous under punishment to the day of judgment;
10 Mutta enimmästi ne, jotka lihan jälkeen saastaisessa himossa vaeltavat ja herrauden katsovat ylön, rohkiat, itsestänsä paljon pitäväiset, jotka ei pelkää valtojakaan pilkata.
but chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise dominion. Presumptuous, self-willed, they are not afraid to rail at dignities;
11 Vaikka ne enkelit, jotka väessä ja voimassa suuremmat ovat, ei kärsi heitä vastaan Herran tykönä pilkallista tuomiota,
whereas angels, who are greater in strength and power, bring not against them a railing accusation;
12 Kuitenkin he niinkuin järjettömät luontokappaleet, jotka luonnostansa kiiniotettaa ja teurastettaa tehdyt ovat, pilkkaavat niitä, joita ei he ymmärrä, ja hukkuvat turmeluksessansa,
but these, as brute beasts, by nature born to be taken and destroyed, railing at things which they understand not, shall even perish in their own corruption,
13 Ja saavat vääryyden palkan, pitäin sen hekumana, että he ajallisissa herkuissa elävät, he ovat ilkeydet ja pilkat, kerskaavat heidän petoksistansa, nautiten herkkuja teidän kanssanne.
receiving the wages of unrighteousness. Counting it pleasure to riot in the day-time, spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceits while they feast with you,
14 Heillä on silmät huoruutta täynnä ja ei taida synnistä lakata, he houkuttelevat tykönsä horjuvat sielut, he ovat sydämensä ahneudessa harjaantuneet, kirottu kansa:
having eyes full of an adulteress, and that cannot cease from sin, alluring unstable souls, having a heart exercised in covetousness, children of a curse,
15 Jotka antoivat ylön oikian tien ja eksyivät, he noudattavat Balaamin, Bosorin pojan, tietä, joka vääryyden palkkaa rakasti.
they have forsaken the right way, and have gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,
16 Mutta hän rangaistiin vääryydestänsä; mykkä työjuhta puhui ihmisen äänellä, ja esti prophetan hulluuden.
but was rebuked for his iniquity; the dumb ass, speaking with man's voice, restrained the madness of the prophet.
17 Ne ovat vedettömät lähteet ja pilvet, jotka tuulispäältä ympäri ajetaan, joille on kätketty synkiä pimeys ijankaikkisesti. (questioned)
These are wells without water, and mists driven by a tempest; for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved.
18 Sillä he puhuvat röyhkeitä sanoja, jotka turhat ovat, ja yllyttävät tavattomuuden kautta lihallisiin himoihin niitä, jotka tosin ovat niitä välttäneet, kuin eksyksissä vaeltavat,
For speaking great swelling words of vanity, they allure in the lusts of the flesh, by dissolute ways, such as were in some measure escaping from those who live in error;
19 Ja lupaavat heille vapauden, vaikka he itse turmeluksen palveliat ovat; sillä jolta joku voitetaan, sen palvelia hän myös on.
promising them liberty, while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by the same is he also brought into bondage.
20 Ja sittenkuin he ovat paenneet maailman saastaisuudesta Herran ja Vapahtajan Jesuksen Kristuksen tuntemiseen, niin he kuitenkin heitänsä niihin käärivät, ja voitetaan, ja on heille viimeinen pahemmaksi tullut kuin ensimäinen.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is worse with them than the first.
21 Sillä se olis heille parempi ollut, ettei he vanhurskauden tietä tunteneetkaan olisi, kuin että he tunsivat sen ja poikkesivat pois pyhästä käskystä, joka heille annettu oli.
For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
22 Niille on tapahtunut se totinen sananlasku: koira syö oksennuksensa, ja pesty sika rypee rapakossa jälleen.
It hath happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog returned to his own vomit; and, The sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire.
