2 Kuninkaiden 15

1 Jerobeamin Israelin kuninkaan seitsemäntenä vuonna kolmattakymmentä tuli Asaria Amatsian Juudan kuninkaan poika kuninkaaksi.

In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

2 Ja kuudentoistakymmenen ajastaikainen oli hän tullessaan kuninkaaksi, ja hän hallitsi kaksi vuotta kuudettakymmentä Jerusalemissa; hänen äitinsä kutsuttiin Jekolja Jerusalemista.

Sixteen years old, was he when he began to reign, and, fifty-two years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jecholiah, of Jerusalem.

3 Ja hän teki mitä Herralle hyvästi kelpasi, kaiketi niinkuin hänen isänsä Amatsia tehnyt oli,

And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that, Amaziah his father, had done.

Only, the high places, took they not away, —still were the people sacrificing and burning incense in the high places.

5 Ja Herra vaivasi kuningasta, niin että hän oli spitalissa kuolemapäiväänsä asti, ja asui erinäisessä huoneessa. Mutta Jotam kuninkaan poika hallitsi huoneen ja tuomitsi kansaa maalla.

And Yahweh smote the king, so that he became a leper, until the day of his death, and dwelt in a lazar-house, —and, Jotham, son of the king, was over the house, judging the people of the land.

Now, the rest of the story of Azariah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

7 Ja Asaria nukkui isäinsä kanssa ja haudattiin isäinsä tykö Davidin kaupunkiin; ja hänen poikansa Jotam tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.

And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers, in the city of David, —and, Jotham his son, reigned, in his stead.

8 Asarian Juudan kuninkaan kahdeksantena vuonna neljättäkymmentä oli Sakaria Jerobeamin poika Israelin kuningas kuusi kuukautta Samariassa,

In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Zechariah son of Jeroboam to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] six months.

9 Ja hän teki pahaa Herran edessä, niinkuin hänen isänsäkin tehneet olivat, ja ei luopunut Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan synneistä, joka Israelin saatti syntiä tekemään.

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, as did his fathers, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

10 Ja Sallum Jabeksen poika teki liiton häntä vastaan, ja löi hänen kansan edessä, ja tappoi hänen, ja tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.

Then conspired against him, Shallum son of Jabesh, and smote him before the people, and slew him, —and reigned in his stead.

Now, the rest of the story of Zechariah, behold it! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

12 Tämä on Herran sana, jonka hän Jehulle puhunut oli, sanoen: sinun poikas pitää istuman Israelin istuimella neljänteen polveen asti; ja se tapahtui niin.

That, was the word of Yahweh, which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons, to four generations, shall sit on the throne of Israel. And it was so!

13 Ussian Juudan kuinkaan yhdeksäntenä vuonna neljättäkymmentä tuli Sallum Jabeksen poika kuninkaaksi, ja hallitsi kuukauden Samariassa.

Shallum the son of Jabesh, began to reign, in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah, king of Judah, —for the space of a month in Samaria.

14 Sillä Menahem Gadin poika meni ylös Tirsasta ja tuli Samariaan, ja löi Sallumin Jabeksen pojan Samariassa, tappoi hänen ja tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.

Then came up Menahem son of Gadi, from Tirzah, and entered Samaria, and smote Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, —and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Now, the rest of the story of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

16 Silloin löi Menahem Tipsan ja kaikki jotka siellä olivat, ja löi heidän rajansa Tirsasta, ettei he häntä tahtoneet päästää sisälle, ja kaikki heidän raskaat vaimonsa repäisi hän rikki.

Then, Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the boundaries thereof, from Tirzah, because they opened not, therefore he smote them, —all the women therein that were with child, he ripped up.

17 Asarian Juudan kuninkaan yhdeksäntenä vuonna neljättäkymmentä tuli Menahem Gadin poika Israelin kuninkaaksi ja oli kymmenen vuotta Samariassa,

In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Menahem son of Gadi to reign over Israel, ten years [reigned he], in Samaria.

18 Ja teki pahaa Herran edessä, ja ei luopunut elinaikanansa Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan synneistä, joka Israelin saatti syntiä tekemään.

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit, all his days.

19 Ja Phul Assyrian kuningas tuli maakuntaan, ja Menahem antoi Phulille tuhannen leiviskää hopiaa, että hän olis pitänyt hänen kanssansa ja vahvistanut häntä valtakuntaan.

Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, so Menahem gave unto Pul, a thousand talents of silver, —that his hands might be with him, to confirm the kingdom, in his hand.

20 Ja Menahem pani hopiaveron voimallisten päälle Israelissa, että itsekukin heistä antais viisikymmentä hopiasikliä Assyrian kuninkaalle. Niin meni Assyrian kuningas kotia jälleen ja ei jäänyt maalle.

And Menahem exacted the silver of Israel, of all the mighty men of wealth, to give to the king of Assyria, fifty shekels of silver, of each man, —so the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there, in the land.

22 Ja Menahem nukkui isäinsä kanssa; ja Pekahja hänen poikansa tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.

And Menahem slept with his fathers, —and, Pekahiah his son, reigned in his stead.

23 Viidentenäkymmenentenä Asarian Juudan kuninkaan vuonna tuli Pekahja Menahemin poika Israelin kuninkaaksi ja oli kaksi vuotta Samariassa,

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Pekahiah son of Menahem to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] two years.

24 Ja teki pahaa Herran edessä; ei hän luopunut Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan synneistä, joka Israelin saatti syntiä tekemään.

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

25 Ja Peka Remaljan poika hänen päämiehensä, kapinoitsi häntä vastaan ja löi hänen kuoliaaksi kuninkaan huoneen salissa, Samariassa, Argobin ja Arjen kanssa, ja viisikymmentä miestä hänen kanssansa Gileadin lapsista. Ja kuin hän oli hänen tappanut, tuli hän kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.

And there conspired against him—Pekah son of Remaliah, a hero of his, and smote him in Samaria, in the citadel of the house of a king, with Argob and with Arieh, and, with him, fifty men of the sons of the Gileadites, —and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.

27 Asarjan Juudan kuninkaan toisena vuonna kuudettakymmentä tuli Peka Remaljan poika Israelin kuninkaaksi, ja hallitsi Samariassa kaksikymmentä vuotta,

In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, began Pekah son of Remaliah to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] twenty years.

28 Ja teki pahaa Herran edessä, ei hän luopunut Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan synneistä, joka saatti Israelin syntiä tekemään.

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

29 Pekan Israelin kuninkaan aikana tuli Tiglat Pilesser Assyrian kuningas, ja otti Gijonin, Abelbetmaekan, Janoan, Kedeksen, Hasorin, Gileadin, Galilean ja kaiken Naphtalin maan, ja vei heidät Assyriaan.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, came Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali—and carried them away captive to Assyria.

30 Ja Hosea Elan poika nosti kapinan Pekaa Remaljan poikaa vastaan ja löi hänen kuoliaaksi, ja tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa kahdentenakymmenentenä Jotamin Ussian pojan vuonna.

And Hoshea son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah, son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, —in the twentieth year of Jotham, son of Uzziah.

32 Toisena Pekan Remaljan pojan Israelin kuninkaan vuonna tuli Jotam, Ussian Juudan kuninkaan poika, kuninkaaksi.

In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, began Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

33 Ja viiden ajastaikainen kolmattakymmentä oli hän tullessansa kuninkaaksi, ja hallitsi kuusitoistakymmentä ajastaikaa Jerusalemissa; hänen äitinsä nimi oli Jerusa Zadokin tytär.

Twenty-five years old, was he, when he began to reign, and, sixteen years, reigned he, in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jerusha, daughter of Zadok.

34 Ja hän teki mitä Herralle hyvästi kelpasi, kaiken sen jälkeen, kuin hänen isänsä Ussia tehnyt oli,

And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that Uzziah his father had done.

35 Paitsi ettei he luopuneet korkeuksista; sillä kansa uhrasi ja suitsutti vielä korkeuksilla; hän rakensi Herran huoneen ylimmäisen portin.

Only, the high places, took they not away, still were the people offering sacrifice and burning incense in the high places, —he, built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.

36 Mitä enempi Jotamista sanomista on, ja kaikista mitä hän tehnyt on: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Juudan kuningasten aikakirjassa?

Now, the rest of the story of Jotham, what he did, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

37 Silloin rupesi Herra lähettämään Juudalle Retsinin Syyrian kuninkaan ja Pekan Remaljan pojan.

In those days, began Yahweh to send against Judah, Rezin, king of Syria, —and Pekah son of Remaliah.

38 Ja Jotam nukkui isäinsä kanssa ja haudattiin isäinsä tykö, isänsä Davidin kaupunkiin; ja Ahas hänen poikansa tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.

And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, —and, Ahaz his son, reigned, in his stead.
