1 Toisena Joaksen Joahaksen pojan Israelin kuninkaan vuonna tuli Amatsia Joaksen Juudan kuninkaan poika kuninkaaksi.
Yn the secounde yeer of Joas, sone of Joachas, kyng of Israel, Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, regnyde.
2 Hän oli viiden ajastajan vanha kolmattakymmentä, kuin hän tuli kuninkaaksi, ja hallitsi yhdeksän ajastaikaa kolmattakymmentä Jerusalemissa. Hänen äitinsä nimi oli Joaddan Jerusalemista.
Amasie was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne; forsothe he regnyde in Jerusalem nyne and twenti yeer; the name of his modir was Joade of Jerusalem.

And whanne he hadde gete the rewme, he smoot hise seruauntis, that hadden killid the kyng, his fadir;
6 Mutta tappajain lapsia ei hän surmannut, niinkuin kirjoitettu on Moseksen lakikirjassa, jossa Herra käskenyt oli ja sanonut: Isät ei pidä kuoleman lasten tähden, ja lapset ei pidä kuoleman isäinsä tähden, vaan jokainen pitää kuoleman oman syntinsä tähden.

7 Hän löi myös kymmenentuhatta Edomilaista Suolalaaksossa, ja voitti Selan (kaupungin) sodalla, ja kutsui sen nimen Jokteel tähän päivään asti.

8 Silloin lähetti Amatsia sanansaattajat Joaksen Joahaksen pojan Jehun pojan Israelin kuninkaan tykö, ja käski hänelle sanoa: tule ja katselkaamme toinen toistamme!

9 Mutta Joas Israelin kuningas lähetti Amatsian Juudan kuninkaan tykö ja antoi hänelle sanoa: orjantappura, Libanonissa, lähetti sedripuun tykö Libanonissa ja antoi hänelle sanoa: anna tyttäres minun pojalleni emännäksi! 10 Sinä olet kokonansa lyönyt Edomilaiset, siitä paisuu sinun sydämes: pidä se ylistys ja ole kotonas! miksis etsit vahinkoa kaatuakses sekä itse että Juuda sinun kanssas?
Thou hast smyte, and haddist the maistri on Edom, and thin herte hath reisid thee; be thou apaied with glorie, and sitte in thin hows; whi excitist thou yuel, that thou falle, and Juda with thee?
11 Mutta Amatsia ei totellut häntä. Niin meni Joas Israelin kuningas ylös, ja he katselivat toinen toistansa, hän ja Amatsia Juudan kuningas Betsemeksessä, joka Juudassa on.

14 Ja otti kaiken kullan ja hopian ja kaikki astiat, jotka löyttiin Herran huoneesta ja kuninkaan huoneen tavaroista, ja vielä hänen lapsensa pantiksi, ja palasi Samariaan.
And he took al the gold and siluer, and alle vessels, that weren foundun in the hows of the Lord, and in the tresours of the kyng; and he took ostagis, and turnede ayen in to Samarie.
15 Mitä enempi Joaksesta sanomista on, mitä hän tehnyt on, ja hänen väkevyydestänsä, ja kuinka hän Amatsian Juudan kuninkaan kanssa soti: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Israelin kuningasten aikakirjassa?

And Joas slepte with hise fadris, and was biried in Samarie with the kyngis of Israel; and Jeroboam, his sone, regnede for hym.
17 Mutta Amatsia, Joaksen Juudan kuninkaan poika, eli Joaksen Joahaksen Israelin kuninkaan pojan kuoleman jälkeen viisitoistakymmentä ajastaikaa.
Forsothe Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, lyuede fyue and twenti yeer, after that Joas, sone of Joachaz, kyng of Israel, was deed.
18 Mitä enempi Amatsiasta sanomista on: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Juudan kuningasten aikakirjassa?

26 Sillä Herra näki Israelin suuren viheliäisyyden, niin ettei ollut suljettua, eikä hylättyä, eikä auttajaa Israelissa.

29 Ja Jerobeam nukkui isäinsä, Israelin kuningasten kanssa; ja hänen poikansa Sakaria tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.
And Jeroboam slepte with hise fadris, the kyngis of Israel; and Azarie, his sone, regnede for hym.
