1 Kuninkaiden 16
1 Niin tuli Herran sana Jehun Hananin pojan tykö Baesaa vastaan, sanoen:
Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jehu
2 Että minä olen ylentänyt sinun tomusta ja tehnyt sinun minun kansani Israelin ruhtinaaksi, ja kuitenkin sinä olet vaeltanut Jerobeamin teillä ja saattanut minun kansani Israelin syntiä tekemään, niin ettäs vihoitat minun heidän synneillänsä;
son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying: Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel, —and yet thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and caused, my people Israel, to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins,
3 Katso, minä hävitän Baesan perilliset ja hänen huoneensa perilliset, ja annan sinun huonees tulla niinkuin Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan huoneen:
Behold me! consuming after Baasha, and after his house, —and I will deliver up thy house, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat:
4 Joka Baesan suvusta kuolee kaupungissa, se pitää koirilta syötämän, ja joka kuolee kedolla se pitää taivaan linnuilta syötämän.
Him that dieth of Baasha in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth of his in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.
5 Mitä enempi on puhumista Baesasta ja hänen töistänsä ja voimastansa: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Israelin kuningasten aikakirjassa?
Now, the rest of the story of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
6 Ja Baesa nukkui isäinsä kanssa ja haudattiin Tirtsaan. Ja hänen poikansa Ella tuli kuninkaaksi hänen siaansa.
So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, —and, Elah his son, reigned, in his stead.
7 Ja Herran sana tuli prophetan Jehun Hananin pojan kautta Baesaa ja hänen huonettansa vastaan, ja kaikkea pahuutta vastaan, minkä hän Herran edessä tehnyt oli, vihoittaaksensa häntä kättensä töillä, että sen piti tuleman niinkuin Jerobeamin huone, ja sentähden että hän hänen tappanut oli.
Moreover also, through Jehu son of Hanani the prophet, the word of Yahweh, came against Baasha and against his house, even because of all the wickedness that he had done in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, becoming like the house of Jeroboam, —notwithstanding that he smote him.
8 Asan Juudan kuninkaan kuudentena vuonna kolmattakymmentä oli Ella Baesan poika Israelin kuningas Tirtsassa kaksi ajastaikaa.
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, began Elah son of Baasha to reign over Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] two years.
9 Mutta hänen palveliansa Simri, joka hallitsi puolet vaunuja, teki liiton häntä vastaan: kuin hän tuli Tirtsaan, niin hän joi ja juopui Artsan tykönä, joka oli Tirtsan kartanon haltia.
Then conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, —as he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk, in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.
10 Ja Simri tuli ja löi hänen, ja tappoi hänen Asan Juudan kuninkaan seitsemäntenä vuonna kolmattakymmentä, ja tuli hänen siaansa kuninkaaksi.
And Zimri went in, and smote him and slew him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.
11 Ja kuin hän oli kuningas ja istui kuninkaallisella istuimellansa, löi hän kaiken Baesan huoneen ja ei jättänyt yhtäkään seinään vettänsä heittävää, eikä perillisiä eli lankoja.
And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha, he left him not even the meanest, —neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12 Ja niin hävitti Simri koko Baesan huoneen, Herran sanan jälkeen, joka Baesalle oli puhuttu propheta Jehun kautta.
Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, —according to the word of Yahweh which he spake unto Baasha, through Jehu the prophet;
13 Kaikkein Baesan ja hänen poikansa Ellan syntein tähden, joita he olivat tehneet, ja olivat saattaneet Israelin syntiä tekemään, ja olivat vihoittaneet Herran Israelin Jumalan turhuudellansa.
as to all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, —wherewith they sinned, and wherewith they caused, Israel, to sin, provoking to anger Yahweh God of Israel, with their vanities.
14 Mitä enempi on sanomista Ellasta ja kaikista hänen menoistansa: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Israelin kuningasten aikakirjassa?
Now, the rest of the story of Elah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
15 Seitsemäntenä kolmattakymmentä Asan Juudan kuninkaan vuonna oli Simri kuningas Tirtsassa seitsemän päivää; sillä väki oli sioittanut itsensä Philistealaisten Gibetonissa.
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, did Zimri reign, seven days in Tirzah, —but, the people, were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistine.
16 Koska väki leirissä ollessansa kuuli sanottavan Simrin tehneen liiton ja tappaneen kuninkaan, niin koko Israel vahvisti sinä päivänä Omrin sodanpäämiehen Israelin kuninkaaksi leirissä.
When therefore the people who were encamped, heard say, Zimri hath conspired, moreover also, he hath smitten the king, all Israel made Omri, general of the army, king over Israel, on that day, in the camp.
17 Ja Omri meni ylös ja koko Israel hänen kanssansa Gibetonista, ja ahdistivat Tirtsan.
So Omri, and all Israel with him, went up from Gibbethon, —and laid siege against Tirzah.
18 Koska Simri näki kaupungin voitettavan, meni hän kuninkaallisen huoneen saliin, ja poltti itsensä kuninkaallisen huoneen kanssa ja kuoli.
And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he entered into the citadel of the house of the king, —and burned over him the house of the king, with fire, and died:
19 Synteinsä tähden, jotka hän oli tehnyt: sillä hän oli tehnyt pahaa Herran edessä ja vaeltanut Jerobeamin teillä ja niissä synneissä, jotka hän oli tehnyt ja joilla hän oli saattanut Israelinkin syntiä tekemään.
because of his sins which he committed by doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —by walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he committed, by causing, Israel, to sin.
20 Mitä enempi on sanomista Simristä, ja kuinka hän oli liiton tehnyt: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Israelin kuningasten aikakirjassa?
Now, the rest of the story of Zimri, and his conspiracy wherein he conspired, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
21 Siihen aikaan hajosi Israelin kansa kahteen joukkoon: yksi osa Tibnin Ginatin pojan puolelle, ja vahvistivat hänen kuninkaaksensa ja toinen Omrin puolelle.
Then, were the people of Israel divided, —half the people, were following Tibni son of Ginath, to make him king, and, half, following Omri.
22 Mutta se joukko, joka piti Omrin puolta, oli väkevämpi kuin ne, jotka pitivät Tibnin Ginatin pojan puolta. Ja Tibni kuoli, ja Omri tuli kuninkaaksi.
But, the people that followed Omri, prevailed against, the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath; so that, Tibni, died, and, Omri, reigned.
23 Asan Juudan kuninkaan ensimmäisenä vuonna neljättäkymmentä oli Omri Israelin kuningas kaksitoistakymmentä ajastaikaa, ja hallitsi Tirtsassa kuusi ajastaikaa.
In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, began Omri to reign over Israel [and he reigned] twelve years: in Tirzah, reigned he six years.
24 Hän osti Semeriltä Samarian vuoren kahdella hopiasentnerillä, ja rakensi vuorelle, ja kutsui kaupungin, jonka hän rakensi, Semerin vuoren herran nimellä Samariaksi.
And he bought the hill Samaria, of Shemer, for two talents of silver, —and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer lord of the hill—Samaria.
25 Ja Omri teki pahaa Herran edessä, ja oli pahempi kaikkia, jotka hänen edellänsä olleet olivat,
And Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all who were before him;
26 Ja vaelsi kaikissa Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan teissä ja hänen synneissänsä, joilla hän Israelin saatti syntiä tekemään, niin että he vihoittivat Herran Israelin Jumalan turhuudellansa.
yea he walked in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin, —provoking to anger Yahweh, God of Israel, with their vanities.
27 Mitä enempi on sanomista Omrista, ja kaikista hänen töistänsä, ja hänen voimastansa teoissansa: eikö se ole kirjoitettu Israelin kuningasten aikakirjassa?
Now, the rest of the story of Omri, what he did, and his might that he shewed, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
28 Ja Omri nukkui isäinsä kanssa ja haudattiin Samariaan; ja Ahab hänen poikansa tuli kuninkaaksi hänen peräänsä.
So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, —and, Ahab his son, reigned, in his stead.
29 Asan Juudan kuninkaan kahdeksantena vuonna neljättäkymmentä oli Ahab Omrin poika kuningas Israelissa, ja hallitsi Israelia Samariassa kaksi ajastaikaa kolmattakymmentä.
Now, Ahab son of Omri, began to reign over Israel, in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, —and Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel, in Samaria, twenty-two years.
30 Ja Ahab Omrin poika teki pahaa Herran edessä enemmän kuin kaikki ne, jotka hänen edellänsä olivat.
And Ahab son of Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all that were before him.
31 Ja se oli hänelle vähä, että hän vaelsi Jerobeamin Nebatin pojan synneissä, hän otti myös Isebelin, Etbaalin Zidonin kuninkaan tyttären emännäksensä, ja meni palvelemaan ja kumartamaan Baalia;
And it come to pass, as though it had been too light a thing that he should walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and bowed down to him.
32 Ja asetti Baalille alttarin Baalin huoneessa, jonka hän oli rakentanut Samariassa.
And he reared an altar unto Baal, —in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.
33 Ja Ahab teki metsistön; niin että Ahab vihoitti Herran Israelin Jumalan kovemmin kuin kaikki muut Israelin kuninkaat, jotka hänen edellänsä olivat.
And Ahab made the Sacred Stem, —and Ahab did yet more to provoke to anger Yahweh God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
34 Silloin rakensi Hiel Betelistä Jerihon: se maksoi hänen esikoisensa Abiramin, koska hän perustuksen laski, ja hänen nuorimman poikansa Segubin, koska hän sen portit pani, Herran sanan jälkeen, jonka hän oli sanonut Josuan Nunin pojan kautta.
In his days, did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho, —At the price of Abiram his firstborn, he laid its foundation, and, at the price of Segub his youngest, he set up its doors, according to the word of Yahweh which he spake through Joshua son of Nun.
