1 Korinttilaisille 4
1 Jokainen pitäköön meitä Kristuksen palvelioina ja Jumalan salaisuutten huoneenhaltioina.
Let men this wyse esteme vs eve as the ministers of Christ and disposers of ye secretes of God.
2 Mutta ainoastaan se huoneenhaltiain seassa etsitään, että joku uskolliseksi löydettäisiin.
Furthermore it is requyred of the disposers that they be founde faithfull.
3 Mutta vähän minä sitä tottelen, että minä teiltä tuomitaan eli inhimilliseltä päivältä: ja en minä itsekään tuomitse minuani;
With me is it but a very smal thinge that I shuld be iudged of you ether of (mans daye) No I iudge not myn awne selfe.
4 Sillä en minä tiedä mitään kanssani; mutta en minä sentähden vanhurskautettu ole, vaan Herra on se, joka minun tuomitsee.
I know nought by my selfe: yet am I not therby iustified. It is the Lorde that iudgeth me.
5 Sentähden älkäät tuomitko ennen aikaa, siihenasti kuin Herra tulee, joka nekin valkeuteen saattaa, mitkä pimeydessä peitetyt ovat, ja ilmoittaa sydänten aivoitukset: ja silloin kukin saa kunnian Jumalalta.
Therfore iudge no thinge before the tyme vntill the Lorde come which will lighten thinges that are hyd in darcknes and ope the counsels of the hertes. And then shall every man have prayse of God.
6 Mutta näitä, rakkaat veljet, olen minä minustani ja Apollosta ulostoimittanut teidän tähtenne, että te meistä oppisitte, ettei kenkään enempää itsestänsä ajattelisi kuin kirjoitettu on, ettei yksikään teistä toistansa vastaan pidä jonkun tähden itsiänsä paisuttaman.
These thinges brethre I have described in myn awne person and Apollos for youre sakes that ye myght learne by vs that no man coute of him selfe beyonde that which is above written: that one swell not agaynst another for eny mans cause.
7 Sillä kuka sinun eroittaa? Taikka mitä sinulla on, jota et sinä ole saanut? Jos siitä siis saanut olet, mitäs kerskaat niinkuin et sinä saanut olisi?
For who preferreth the? What hast thou that thou hast not receaved? Yf thou have receaved it why reioysest thou as though thou haddest not receaved it?
8 Jo te olette ravitut, jo te olette rikastuneet, ilman meitä te vallitsette: ja oi jospa te tosin vallitsisitte, että mekin teidän kanssanne vallitsisimme!
Now ye are full: now ye are made rych: ye raygne as kinges with out vs: and I wold to god ye dyd raygne that we might raygne with you.
9 Sillä minä luulen, että Jumala on meitä apostoleita viimeisiksi asettanut, niinkuin surmattaviksi; sillä me olemme maailmalle, ja enkeleille, ja ihmisille ihmeeksi tulleet.
Me thinketh that God hath set forth vs which are Apostles for the lowest of all as it were me appoynted to deeth. For we are a gasyngestocke vnto the worlde and to ye angels and to men.
10 Me olemme tomppelit Kristuksen tähden, mutta te toimelliset Kristuksessa: me heikot, mutta te väkevät: te kunnialliset, mutta me katsotut ylön.
We are foles for Christes sake and ye are wyse thorow Christ. We are weake and ye are stroge. Ye are honorable and we are despised.
11 Hamaan tähän hetkeen asti kärsimme me nälkää ja janoa, ja olemme alasti, ja meitä lyödään korvalle ja ei meillä ole vahvaa asuinsiaa:
Eve vnto this daye we honger and thyrst and are naked and are boffetted wt fistes and have no certayne dwellinge place
12 Ja me näemme vaivaa, työtä tehden omilla käsillämme. Kuin meitä soimataan, niin me hyvästi lausumme: kuin meitä vainotaan, niin me kärsimme.
and laboure workinge with oure awne hondes. We are revysed and yet we blesse. We are persecuted and suffer it.
13 Kuin meitä pilkataan, niin me rukoilemme: me olemme tulleet niinkuin maailman tunkioksi ja kaikkein saastaisuudeksi tähän päivään asti.
We are evyll spoken of and we praye. We are made as it were the filthynes of the worlde the ofscowringe of all thinges even vnto this tyme.
14 En minä näitä kirjoita häväistäkseni teitä, vaan minä neuvon teitä niinkuin rakkaita lapsiani.
I write not these thinges to shame you: but as my beloved sonnes I warne you.
15 Sillä ehkä teillä olis kymmenentuhatta opettajaa Kristuksessa, niin ei teillä kuitenkaan ole monta isää; sillä minä olen teitä Kristuksessa Jesuksessa siittänyt evankeliumin kautta.
For though ye have ten thousande instructours in Christ: yet have ye not many fathers. In Christ Iesu I have begotten you thorowe ye gospell.
16 Sentähden neuvon minä teitä, olkaat minun tavoittajani.
Wherfore I desyre you to folowe me.
17 Sentähden lähetin minä teille Timoteuksen, joka on minun rakas ja uskollinen poikani Herrassa, jonka pitää muistuttaman teille minun tieni, jotka ovat Kristuksessa, niinkuin minä joka paikassa kaikissa seurakunnissa opetan.
For this cause have I sent vnto you Timotheus which is my deare sonne and faithfull in the Lorde which shall put you in remembrauce of my wayes which I have in Christ eve as I teache every where in all congregacios.
18 Mutta muutamat ovat teistä paisuneet, niinkuin en minä teidän tykönne tuleva oliskaan.
Some swell as though I wolde come no more at you.
19 Mutta ennen paljoa aikaa tulen minä teidän tykönne, jos Herra tahtoo, ja tahdon tietää, ei paisuneitten sanojen, vaan voimaa.
But I will come to you shortely yf God will: and will knowe not ye wordes of the which swell but ye power:
20 Sillä Jumalan valtakunta ei ole puheessa, vaan voimassa.
for ye kyngdome of God is not in wordes but in power.
21 Kumman te tahdotte: että minä tulen vitsalla teidän tykönne, taikka rakkaudella ja hengen siveydellä?
What will ye? Shall I come vnto you with a rodde or els in love and in the sprete of mekenes?
