1 Korinttilaisille 12
1 Mutta hengellisistä lahjoista, rakkaat veljet, en minä tahdo teiltä salata.
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not wish you to be ignorant.
2 Te tiedätte, että te olette pakanat olleet ja käyneet mykkäin epäjumalain tykö, niinkuin te viedyt olitte.
You know that when you were heathen you went astray after dumb idols, wherever he be led.
3 Sentähden teen minä teille tiettäväksi, ettei yksikään, joka Jumalan Hengen kautta puhuu, Jesusta kiroile: ja ei yksikään taida Jesusta kutsua Herraksi, vaan Pyhän Hengen kautta.
Wherefore I want you to understand that no one who speaks in the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except in the Holy Spirit.
4 Lahjat ovat moninaiset, mutta yksi on Henki;
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;
5 Ja virat ovat moninaiset, mutta yksi on Herra.
there are various forms of service, and the same Lord;
6 Ja voimat ovat moninaiset, mutta yksi on Jumala, joka kaikki kaikissa vaikuttaa.
and varieties of work, and the same God, who works in all.
7 Mutta jokaiselle annetaan Hengen ilmoitus hyödytykseksi.
Now to each man has been given his manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
8 Sillä yhdelle annetaan Hengen kautta puhua viisaudesta, toiselle puhua tiedosta, sen yhden Hengen kautta:
For to one man by the Spirit has been given a word of wisdom, to another a word of insight by the same Spirit;
9 Mutta toiselle usko siitä yhdestä Hengestä: toiselle lahjat terveeksi tehdä siinä yhdessä Hengessä:
to one man by the same Spirit is given faith, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit;
10 Toiselle voimallisia töitä tehdä, toiselle ennustus, toiselle henget eroittaa, toiselle moninaiset kielet, toiselle moninaisten kielten selitys.
to another the powers which work miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 Mutta nämät kaikki se yksi Henki vaikuttaa, jakaen kullekin omansa niinkuin hän tahtoo.
But the one and the same Spirit gives power to all, distributing his gifts to each as he wills.
12 Sillä niinkuin ruumis on yksi, ja hänellä on monta jäsentä, mutta kaikki ruumiin jäsenet, ehkä heitä on usia, ovat kuitenkin yksi ruumis; niin on myös Kristus.
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, although they be many, are one body; so also is Christ.
13 Sillä me olemme myös yhdessä Hengessä kaikki yhdeksi ruumiiksi kastetut, sekä Juudalaiset että Grekiläiset, sekä orjat että vapaat, ja kaikki me olemme yhteen Henkeen juotetut.
And we can see this, for in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jew or Gentile, whether slave or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
14 Sillä ei ruumis ole yksi jäsen, vaan usia.
For the body is not one member, but many.
15 Jos jalka sanois: en minä ole käsi, sentähden en minä ole ruumiista: eikö hän senvuoksi ole ruumiista?
If the foot should say, "Because I am a hand, I am not part a part the body," would it not indeed be a part of the body?
16 Ja jos korva sanois: en minä ole silmä, sentähden en minä ole ruumiista: eikö hän senvuoksi ruumiista ole?
Or if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," would it be any less a part of the body?
17 Jos koko ruumis silmänä olis, kussas siis kuulo? Jos se kaikki kuulona, kussas siis haisto?
If the whole body were an eye, where were hearing? If all were hearing, where were smelling?
18 Mutta nyt on Jumala pannut jäsenet erinänsä itsekunkin ruumiissa niinkuin hän on tahtonut.
But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body as it has pleased him.
19 Vai jos kaikki olisivat yksi jäsen, kussa sitte ruumis olis?
If all were one member, where would the body be?
20 Mutta nyt on monta jäsentä, vaan yksi ruumis.
But now there are many members, but one body.
21 Mutta ei silmä taida kädelle sanoa: en minä sinua tarvitse, eli taas pää jaloille: en minä teitä tarvitse.
And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you". nor again of head to the feet, "I have no need for you."
22 Vaan paljoa enemmin ne ruumiin jäsenet, jotka heikommaksi näkyvät, ovat tarpeelliset.
On the contrary, we need those members of the body which seem to be weaker;
23 Ja jotka me luulemme häpiällisemmäksi ruumiissa, niiden päälle me enimmän kunnian panemme; ja jotka häijymmäksi näkyvät, niillä on enin kaunistusta:
upon those parts of the body which we esteem less honorable, we bestow more abundant honor, and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24 Sillä jotka meissä kauniit ovat, ei ne mitään tarvitse; mutta Jumala on ruumiin kokoon liittänyt ja sille puuttuvaiselle enemmän kunnian antanut,
For whereas our comely parts have no need, God has tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that member in which lacked;
25 Ettei eripuraisuutta ruumiissa olisi; vaan kaikki jäsenet pitää toinen toisestansa surun pitämän.
that there should be no disunion in the body, but that members mutual care for one another.
26 Ja jos yksi jäsen kärsii jotakin, niin kaikki muut jäsenet kanssa kärsivät, ja jos yksi jäsen kunniassa pidetään, niin kaikki jäsenet myös riemuitsevat.
When one member suffers, all the others suffer with it; and when one member is honored, all the members are glad with it.
27 Mutta te olette Kristuksen ruumis ja jäsenet, jokainen osansa jälkeen.
Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it.
28 Ja Jumala on pannut seurakuntaan ensin apostolit, sitte prophetat, senjälkeen opettajat, sitte voimalliset työt, jälleen parantamisen lahjat, avut, hallitukset, moninaiset kielet.
And God has appointed those in the church to be first of all apostles, second, prophets, third, teachers. then workers of miracles, healers, helpers, administrators, users of various kinds of "tongues."
29 Ovatko kaikki apostolit? Ovatko kaikki prophetat? Ovatko kaikki opettajat? Onko kaikilla voimalliset työt?
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? teachers? workers of miracles?
30 Onko kaikilla parantamisen lahjat? Puhuvatko kaikki moninaisilla kielillä? Taitavatko kaikki selittää?
Have all gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
31 Mutta noudattakaat te paraita lahjoja. Ja vielä minä teille korkiamman tien osoitan.
Desire earnestly the greater gifts. And yet I will go on to show you a still more excellent way.
