< Romatɔwo 11 >

1 Azɔ mele biabiam be, ɖe Mawu gbe eƒe amewo mahã? Gbeɖe! Nye ŋutɔ hã Israeltɔ menye; Abraham ƒe dzidzimevie menye tso Benyamin ƒomea me.
I say therefore, did God thrust away his people? May it not happen! For I also am an Israelite from the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Mawu megbe eƒe ame siwo wòtia tso gɔmedzedzea me ke la o. Mienya nya si Ŋɔŋlɔ Kɔkɔe la gblɔ na Eliya esi wònɔ Israelviwo nu tsom la oa?
God did not thrust away his people whom he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture tells by Elijah? How he encounters God about Israel.
3 Eliya gblɔ be, “Aƒetɔ, wowu wò nyagblɔɖilawo, eye wogbã wò vɔsamlekpuiwo ƒu anyi; nye ɖeka hɔ̃ koe susɔ, eye wodi be yewoawu nye hã.”
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and they have torn down thine altars, and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 Mieɖo ŋku ale si Mawu ɖo nya sia ŋu dzia? Mawu gblɔ be, “Ao, menye wò ɖeka koe susɔ o. Ame akpe adre sɔŋ le asinye kpe ɖe ŋuwò, ame siwo galɔ̃am kokoko, eye womedea ta agu na legbawo o!”
But what does the divine response say to him? I have reserved for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed a knee to Baal.
5 Alea ke wògale egbe sia hã. Menye Yudatɔwo katãe de megbe tso Mawu gbɔ o. Ame ʋɛ aɖewo le xɔxɔ kpɔm le Mawu ƒe amenuveve si wòtsɔ tia woe la ta.
So then also at this present time there has become a remnant according to the selection of grace.
And if it is by grace, it is no longer from works, otherwise grace becomes no longer grace. But if it is from works it is no longer grace, otherwise work is no longer work.
What then? What Israel seeks, this it did not obtain. But the chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened,
8 Nu siae Ŋɔŋlɔ Kɔkɔe la le gbɔgblɔm be, “Mawu na alɔ̃dɔdɔgbɔgbɔ wo, womia woƒe ŋkuwo, eye woƒe towo me xe, Aleae wòle va se ɖe egbe.”
just as it is written that God gave them a spirit of slumber: eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, until this very day.
9 David ƒo nu tso nu ma ke ŋu esi wògblɔ be, “Mina woƒe nuɖuɖu nyuiwo nazu mɔ aɖe wo alo woanye nuɖiaɖia kpakple teƒeɖoɖo na wo.
And David says, Let their table become for a snare, and for a trap, and for a stumbling block, and for a retribution to them.
10 Mina woƒe ŋkuwo dzi natsyɔ, ale be womagate ŋu akpɔ nu o, eye agba kpekpe nabi dzime na wo gobaa hafi woanɔ yiyim ɖaa.”
Let their eyes be darkened, not to see, and may thou bow down their back always.
11 Megale biabiam be: Ɖe Mawu gbe Yudatɔwo tegbetegbea? Gbeɖe! Eƒe taɖodzinue nye be yeana ɖeɖekpɔkpɔ nasu ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la hã si, bena Yudatɔwo naʋã ŋu wo.
I say then, did they stumble so that they would fall? May it not happen! But in their transgression, salvation is to the Gentiles, in order to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Azɔ ne woƒe anyidzedze zu xexea me katã ƒe yayra, eye woƒe bubu zu ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la ƒe yayra la, ekema mibu yayra gã si wu esia si ava xexea me dzi ne Yudatɔwo hã va xɔ Yesu la ŋu.
Now if their transgression is wealth of the world, and their failure is wealth of Gentiles, how much more their fullness?
13 Abe ale si mienya ene la, Mawu tiam be manye dɔtsɔla tɔxɛ na mi ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la. Medaa akpe na Mawu ɣe sia ɣi be etsɔ dɔ vevie sia de asi nam
For I speak to you the Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am indeed an apostle of Gentiles, I enhance my ministry,
14 ale be ne mate ŋui la, mana nye ŋutɔ nye amewo adi nu si le mi ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la si, eye mato esia me aɖe wo dometɔ aɖewo.
if somehow I may provoke my flesh to jealousy and may save some of them.
15 Anye nu wɔnuku gã aɖe ŋutɔ ne wozu kristotɔwo. Mawu ƒe tɔtrɔ le wo yome fia be Mawu trɔ ɖe xexea me ƒe akpa bubuawo ŋu be woakpɔ ɖeɖe abe ame kukuwo ƒe agbegbɔgbɔ ene.
For if the casting away of them is reconciliation of the world, what is the acceptance except life from the dead?
16 Eye zi ale si Abraham kple nyagblɔɖilawo nye Mawu ƒe amewo la, nenema ke wo viwo hã anye Mawu ƒe amewo. Elabena ne ati aɖe ƒe kewo le kɔkɔe la, eƒe alɔwo hã nɔa kɔkɔe.
And if the first fruit is holy, the branch is also. And if the root is holy, the branches are also.
And if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and became a joint partaker of the root of the fatness of the olive tree,
18 Gake mikpɔ nyuie be miagaƒo adegbe be wotsɔ yewo ɖo atilɔ siwo wolã ɖa la teƒe o. Miɖo ŋku edzi be miele vevie le ale si mienye Mawu ƒe ati la ƒe akpa aɖe la ɖeɖe ko ta; alɔ ko mienye, menye ati la ƒe kee mienye o.
do not boast against the branches. But if thou boast, thou do not bear the root, but the root thee.
19 Miagblɔ be, “Wolã alɔ siawo ɖa be woakpɔ teƒe nam. Esia fia be menye ame dzadzɛ.”
Thou will therefore say, Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.
20 Kpɔ nyuie. Ɖo ŋku edzi be wolã alɔ siwo nye Yudatɔwo la ɖa, elabena womexɔ Mawu dzi se o, eye miawo miezu alɔwo le miaƒe dzixɔse ɖeɖe ko ta. Migado mia ɖokuiwo ɖe dzi o, ke nɔ vɔvɔ̃m boŋ.
Correct! They were broken off for their unbelief, and thou stand by thy faith. Be not high-minded but fear,
for if God spared not the natural branches, perhaps neither will he spare thee.
22 Mide dzesi ale si Mawu nyoa dɔ me, eye wògahea to na ame hãe. Eƒe asi sẽna ɖe ame siwo gbea toɖoɖoe la dzi, ke enyoa dɔ me ne míeyi elɔlɔ̃ kple edzixɔxɔ se dzi. Ke ne míelɔ̃e o, eye míexɔ edzi se hã o la, alã míawo hã ɖa.
Behold therefore the goodness and the severity of God. Indeed toward those who fell, severity, but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness, otherwise thou too will be cut off.
23 Ke ne Yudatɔwo aɖe asi le woƒe dzimaxɔse ŋu, eye woatrɔ ava Mawu gbɔ la, Mawu agate ŋu axɔ wo, ado ɖe ati la dzi.
And also those, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Elabena ne Mawu lɔ̃ be yeaxɔ mi ame siwo nɔ adzɔge ke, ame siwo nye amiti dzodzro aɖe ƒe akpa aɖe tsã, eye fifia yeaxɔ mi ado ɖe ye ŋutɔ yeƒe ati nyui dzi, nu si medzɔna edziedzi o la, ɖe miekpɔe be anɔ klalo sãa wu be yeagbugbɔ Yudatɔwo, ame siwo nɔ afi ma tsã la axɔ oa?
For if thou were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural ones, be grafted into their own olive tree.
25 Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, medi be mianya nyateƒe sia tso Mawu gbɔ, ale be miagado mia ɖokuiwo ɖe dzi, eye miade asi dada me o. Ɛ̃, eme kɔ be Israel ƒe ame aɖewo tsi tsitre ɖe nyanyui la ŋu azɔ, ke anɔ alea va se ɖe esime mi ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la katã, miava Kristo gbɔ.
For I do not want you, brothers, to be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise according to yourselves, that a callousness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles come in.
And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written, The man who delivers will come from Zion, and will turn away impiety from Jacob.
27 Ɣe ma ɣi me la, maɖe woƒe nu vɔ̃wo katã ɖa abe nye nubabla kpli wo ene.”
And this is the covenant from me to them when I will take away their sins.
They are indeed enemies toward the good news for your sake, but toward selection, they are beloved for the fathers' sake.
29 Elabena Mawu magagbugbɔ eƒe nunanawo kple eƒe ameyɔyɔ axɔ o; Mawu magbe eƒe ŋugbedodowo dzi wɔwɔ gbeɖe o.
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 Tsã la, mienye aglãdzelawo ɖe Mawu ŋu, ke esi Yudatɔwo gbe eƒe nunanawo xɔxɔ la, Mawu ve miawo nu ɖe wo teƒe.
For as ye once were also disobedient to God, but now have received mercy at the disobedience of these,
so also now these have been disobedient for thy mercy, so that they also may receive mercy.
32 Elabena Mawu ɖe ŋku ɖa le wo ŋu le woƒe nu vɔ̃ ta, ale be yeate ŋu akpɔ nublanui na amewo katã sɔsɔe. (eleēsē g1653)
For God has confined all men in disobedience, so that he might be merciful to all. (eleēsē g1653)
33 O, Mawu wɔnukɔ aɖe ŋutɔe le mía si. Eƒe nunya kple kesinɔnuwo lolo loo! Míate ŋu ase eƒe nyametsotsowo kple ɖoɖowo me akpɔ o!
O the depth of wealth, both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways beyond finding out!
34 “Elabena mía dometɔ kae ate ŋu anya Aƒetɔ la ƒe susu? Ame kae nya nu egbegbe be wòate ŋu azu eƒe adaŋudela alo mɔfiala?”
For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who became his counselor?
35 “Ame kae tre nunana Mawu, be wòagaɖo eteƒe nɛ mahã?”
Or who first gave to him, and it will be repaid to him?
36 Elabena Mawu gbɔ ko nu sia nu tsona. Nu sia nu le agbe le eya ko ƒe ŋusẽ ta, eye nu sia nu li na eƒe ŋutikɔkɔe. Ŋutikɔkɔe nanye etɔ tegbee! Amen. (aiōn g165)
Because from him, and through him, and for him, are all things. To him is the glory into the ages. Truly. (aiōn g165)
